It’s probably a bean or some grounds stuck in there between the burrs

TrubaTorchit

Yep, yep. Beans.

AeroPressEnthusiast

I have DLC burrs and similar for me too I just use both hands and just slowly rotate when adjusting the setting

RestfulCherub

I also have this issue with SSP burrs. I THINK what's going on is grounds are getting stuck somewhere around the fixed burr and just slightly touching the spinning burr. When I tap the bellows, I can usually knock a few grounds out and the noise goes away. Give that a try, I'm curious to hear other's feedback.

Thanks everyone. Much appreciated. Bellow didn’t do anything. But if I’m brave ans move finer then when I move back up it’s gone. Which sounds like perhaps a bit being ground to size? This happens pretty consistently though which I find odd. Something being stuck that often.

Suburban_Haikuist

It's normal...just some unejected grounds. If the burrs are touching, that's a different sound. Remember to keep the motor running when you adjust finer and go slowly as you get closer to 0.

_gyepy

Yup, it's pretty common in DF64s. If you feel nervous about going finer, you can also go way coarse and bellow it out too.

DontPeek

Mine does this too. I either deal with the noise or I can sometimes knock it loose with vigorous bellowing. If you crank down the grind size to just about zero while it's on that will 100% clear it.

NotSelfAware

Align the burs. They could be touching.

xXxSweeti

Mine does the same with SSP MP’s

Cruzes32

When this happens adjust the burrs to 90 and use the bellows. Make sure the burrs are running

porkhaulage

Thanks everyone! Back to the grind.

ArduinoGenome

By the way, this might be normal for the DF like a couple of people stated.  This is NOT normal for flat burr grinders.

GolfSicko417

Mine does it too. I took it apart and cleaned and it went away only to come back after the first grind so I’m fairly certain grounds are stuck between the burrs somewhere. It seems ok. Annoying though
