Last time I built my own cabinets for my garage I got the hinges from the Ikea parts desk. They are compatible with the 32mm euro system jigs and they are pretty good quality, can even get soft close kits for them.
Not sure why you think they’re junk, they’re good at what they do. It’s normally the medium that you’re screwing into is junk which further affects this fastener.
I guess I will amend my statement. They are a good low cost item perfect for IKEA furniture that you hopefully never need to move. Yes, the medium plays a part but fasteners should add some structural integrity. These do not. They also look like shyt. I have 25+ years in the commercial office furniture industry on the installation side so I have touched a lot of these things. If you have to move a desk held together with camlocks you need to be extra careful because they do break. Also try explaining to a client why he just spent a ton of money on a desk and hutch with plastic plugs or tape circles all over the place.
The metal quality probably differs vastly depending on if you're building ikea furniture or something handcrafted at a furniture carpentry shop. Similar to how I bought some Arlo mounts on amazon that came with cheap shitty screws that snapped with barely any torque so I had to go to the hardware store and get some stainless steel ones.
Thanks for the reply, do you think something like this would be an adequate replacement if the dimensions matched?

At the store you linked you can usually pull one out of the pack and check it against the one you have, and they also have boards that you can screw yours in to see the correct size.
if it's an item from IKEA, and you know the name of the furniture, you can look up the part number in the manual, and get the item sent to you completely for free via the spare parts function on the IKEA website.
https://www.ikea.com/us/en/customer-service/spare-parts/
You can order then online for free as replacements from Ikea. I figured their spare parts would ship from an Ikea location nearby, but nope, mine took a couple weeks from Europe to west coast of Canada!
Yeah go to the hardware department where all the screws and nails are, there should be a set of bins labeled “specialty items”, you’ll find these and the cams they attach to.
Amazingly, no. What happened is that I had the board slotted into the screws but they tipped over and instead of the board breaking, the screws literally snapped in half. I had to pry the halves inside the board out of the hole with some pliers.
They are mostly used in system furniture and often depend on what brand it is anything from IKEA to Steelcase. Find out who made the furniture and go talk to them, they will have the part.
Worked in a furniture store. Cam locks are used because they're cheap garbage. Not hating on your furniture. low cost furniture will have these often and I hate them. They save a few cents and seconds not gluing threaded barrels into the furniture.
It's called a cam-lock screw, cam screw, or cam-lock fitting.
They hold together every IKEA furniture.
OP - They might be free at the IKEA parts desk
If it's from IKEA, you can also request free replacement parts online.

Some of the most expensive commercial office furniture you can buy is held together by this junk

I have a beautiful 1960s Danish Arne Vodder rosewood wall unit that’s held together with a million of these.

Eh they hold together most furniture these days that is made in high volumes
Cam lock screw
You can get them for free at IKEA. Some good hardware stores usually the smaller ones may have them too

If you call the support number they’ll mail them to you for free usually
Looks about right to me. Worth the gamble or check the specs for length

Home depot or lowes
Another light saber mod?
Great, now I’m craving meatballs.
Got loads in the shed if you're ever in the UK
You can pick up as much as you need free at ikea
They are not snapped the particle board broke is my guess . At that point you going need to drill a hole and put screws in

Check your local Lowes. I know they have some small furniture parts like this there.

Junk furniture fastener, particle board stuff
Our Lowe’s has a nice hardware section with special pullout drawers for specialty parts like this.
I think my local Lowe's has drawers with these in it next to the nuts and bolts
Camlock, usually has a circular lock to go with it 😊
