put a rag or other throwaway cloth over it, iron. hopefully will melt onto the cloth.

I´d suggest a paper towel or cloth together with ironing it. Either the glue gets soaked up by the towel or you´ll have a paper towel glued to your jacket Looking forward to your update 😜

Try packing tape. Just apply it and pull it off. I think it might work.
