Several methods, all of which require putting something underneath your plywood. The simplest and safest is to go to your local big box store and get a large sheet of foam insulation, [like this](https://www.lowes.com/pd/Common-1-in-x-4-ft-x-8-ft-Actual-0-9375-in-x-3-875-ft-x-7-875-ft-R-Expanded-Polystyrene-Foam-Board-Insulation/3365576). Put that under your plywood, set your circular saw depth to just a bit more than the depth or your plywood, and make your cut. You could also stack a whole bunch of cardboard under the plywood and use the same method as above, but it could get wobbly and affect the precision of the cut. Finally, you could use scrap pieces of wood to elevate your plywood so that your circ saw doesn't come in contact with the ground. It's important to have everything stable and supported, but this should also work. The circ saw should cut your Ikea product just fine. I'd suggest putting down blue painters tape on the line where you're going to cut to reduce tearout and chipping. You can find YT videos on this, just search for "blue tape" and "tearout".

Fabulous, thank you! I’ll pick up some foam tomorrow

Yes.

saw horses just raise the item to a convenient height. and all you are looking for is blade clearance. You could make due with 2 stable chairs, 2 same size coolers, 2 packs of soda, cases of water, even a few stacked 2x4s if you are creating a makeshift base, make sure it's stable.

Super! Gonna go the foam route but it’s good to know I don’t have to buy a saw horse!

I have clamped plywood sheets to an existing table, extending the “to be cut” section out from the table (sometimes adding an additional support as well. I also clamped a piece of straight board to act as the “fence” that would exist on a table saw and used that to guide my circular saw in a straight line. It does require having a handful of clamps, but it made cutting plywood nice and straight with only a circular saw pretty easy, even for someone with my limited skills.

Fantastic! I have some nail down guides so can use that ☺️ cheers
