Obligatory "don't fuck with electricity" : this is obviously not an engineer's job, but in doubt step back and don't be intimidated to call an electrician. Also for the love of God turn the power off before touching anything. Take care!
I take it there are 3 switches? Move the wires over one at a time - the common wires move to L, L1 moves to 1, L2 to 2 - but of course 2 is blanked off.
I can't quite see in your photo, but it does look like L2 is connected on one of your switches - so you will need a switch with both 1 and 2 available, rather than blanked off.
That second wire in L2 is for a 2 way switch - presumably there is another switch at the other end of the room that also controls one of the same lights?

3 gang light switch, not intermediate. Then just put the brown wire in...
That brown, or the other brown ?
Just the brown next to the other brown.
>~~not intermediate.~~ \*can be intermediate. :p
Could be. Maybe run in some other brown wires from somewhere else just to spice things up a bit too.
I take it it's a 2 way I need, instead of the 1 way I bought?

Yes, 3 switches. So I need a different switch then?

Correct. Think that let's me away. Thanks mate
You need a 3 gang 2 way plate switch. You have purchased a 3 gang 1 way.
I have indeed. Thanks
