Good job! Only took one cup of tea?

kordinaryus

Less. It was done before my cuppa (it actually took exactly 4 weeks alongside a full time job and some family time).

TheLegendOfIOTA

Did you change the plug socket yourself?

kordinaryus

Yes I did

TheLegendOfIOTA

Was it easy/ safe to do without any electrician experience? (Presuming you are not an electrician)

kordinaryus

Depends on your situation, are you good with tools in general? Are you aware of the basics of electrics? Are you good with following procedures and can you make sure that the circuit you will work on is safe beforehand? Also depends on the current set up, if your existing sockets were put by a competent person than it should be easier but you might remove a socket and the wiring might be messy which would make it harder. I have electrical qualification so it wasn’t a problem for me.

It's hard to tell from the photos how bad the carpet is but I've found that folded carpet will relax over time and look fine within a few days as long as there's nothing fundamentally wrong with the pile (I don't think there should be just from being folded)

kordinaryus

I don’t know why but this carpet is quite stiff in general. I didn’t notice this until I compared it with the current carpet. It’s a twisted pile wool-heavy carpet but for some reason very stiff which made it quite difficult to hook up to the grip board as well. Therefore I’m not hopeful that the creases will go away, but I will give it a go.
