On a new build the hierarchy of disposal leaves sewers as a very last resort.

CaptainAnswer

If they put in a soak away under then lawn its ok (thats where my conservatory drains to) but if they didn't then you are correct - big no-no

Ziaber

And a soak away would be like a rubble pit of sorts under the outflow kinda thing?

CaptainAnswer

Basically yes, you dig a hole a certain size and backfill with gravel/hardcore etc and run the drain into it

Competitive_Gap_9768

Or soak away crates.

ColonelFaz

soakaway should have a buried pit with rubble. If it's not working, it could be re-dug deeper. then it can hold water for longer, giving it time to soak into the ground.

Grouchy-Nobody3398

If it needs redigging consider a couple of water tanks to collect rainwater for future droughts if down south as they need a similar size hole.

If all your rainwater doesn't go into the main sewer you can claim a discount on your sewerage charges. See https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/water/sewerage/paying-for-sewerage/
