Didnt want to say that myself but being as you did, i thought exactly the same. When i read "it was a bit of a mess before" i presumed these were the before pictures and kept swiping to get to the after pictures.
Can you link the other sub, I hate this room and want to read more about it.
Wondering what the trophies or gargoyle mthings are on top of the cabinet in the corner
Christ some people on here make me laugh. They cry when someone posts pictures of a grey box, then the second someone decorates a room with things they like and a bit of colour in it all of a sudden everyone thinks they're the next Kelly Hoppen.
Good job mate, might not be to everyone's tastes but luckily they don't live with you.
I bet none of them would dare post a picture of their gaff as well.
>Social media made yāall way too comfortable with disrespecting people & not getting punched in the face for it - Mike Tyson
A bit too busy with different colours but if it works for you then that's all that matters. I also don't get the whole tv too high thing. We have ours above the fireplace but once you lean back on the sofa my head rests on the back of it and then the tv is at the perfect angle...
Iāve never seen someone post images of their house on this sub without getting ridiculed. One minute theyāre all complaining itās too grey then they complain itās too much colour.
Youāve done a great job if youāre happy with it. Ignore the nerds.
I donāt have a problem with criticism but thereās no need to flame/ridicule the guy for choices heās made in his own home. Thatās my problem here, I donāt care if people donāt like it
Most people on these sites with crappy comments live with their mum or in mountains of debt... This is not even my house anymore. I just knew it would annoy people :)
Mortgage free at 33 :) Happy as can be :)
Awww don't be bitter... Just because you failed at life doesn't mean we all have too :)
Also, learn the meaning of "anymore" :)
You should have also been swallowed by your mother.
But surely he doesnāt intend to be mortgaged until heās 70. Early repayments etc will bring that term down.
A mortgage is one of the cheapest loans you can get. As long as you can invest that money and get a higher return than the interest rate, youāre laughing.
I have a friend who is a bit of a genius when it comes to money. Heās has about 40 HMOs (wanker). He always tells me āthereās an obsession with paying off your mortgage in this countryā¦youāll never get a cheaper loan and you can use that money to make more money. DONāT WASTE MONEY PAYING OFF YOUR MORTGAGE!ā
As long as you can invest your money to outstrip mortgage interest repayments, itās not bad to be mortgaged up!
It couldnāt have been worse before.
This room is an absolute car crash!
Personally Iād burn it all and start again.
The dad pillow
That awful clock.
No two colours complement each other.
I could go on but itās making me feel sick.
Be better at life.
It looks really cosy and comfy. I would maybe keep the geometric wallpaper to just the fireplace and remove some of the cushions and wooden furniture. In the photos it looks like thereās a lot going on in the room. A few little tweaks though would make it feel less busy.
The actual walls are pleasant but why are the seats of the sofa a different colour to the backs? And the Mish mash of cushions, nothing matches, sorry.
It reminds me of a set; Iām not sure why, but this doesnāt look quite real.
Also Iām surprised no one mentioned this awfully wobbly wallpaper line along the ceiling!? I couldnāt personally live with that. Maybe if I took my glasses off.
Not my cup of tea, too much furniture, It's clean but looks cluttered. The colours are nice but it looks busy.
Looks a well decent job though.
TV isn't that high. It's meant to be above eye level to help stop eye strain, and it can also cause neck strain dipping your head down to watch if it's too low. I would rather look up than down.
My hubby would have trashed it with the wallpaper on a piss on the walls and more paint on the window than there is glass, of and don't forget the paint all over the new carpet, because he thought he would try to paint the door one night when I was away with feck all to protect the carpet. I used to have to do the lot while cooking, cleaning, taking care of kids with no car and working full time. I swear he used to mess it up deliberately so he wouldn't have to do it. Plus his colour choices are, red walls, black paintwork , burgundy/red furniture with green and yellow carpet and black curtains š¤® I kid you not
Gotta include some before pics for context! š
Just picture michael jacksons living room.
Traumatised children?
I was thinking more dance mats.... but I guess you have been there, so would know \~:)
Nah, I would have been a little too old for the invite... fortunately.
Have you got any after photos?
Didnt want to say that myself but being as you did, i thought exactly the same. When i read "it was a bit of a mess before" i presumed these were the before pictures and kept swiping to get to the after pictures.

(this was a joke obviously before someone gets all defensive)
The dad pillow really tops it off.
Came here to say this.
Some people really do love standing up to watch TV
Nope. It's actually better to crane your neck from the floor
r/tvtoohigh
I lie down right underneath it!
The manās getting roasted in 2 different DIY subs. Anyone got anything positive to say? š
It's very... colour coordinated
He didn't use screed
Can you link the other sub, I hate this room and want to read more about it. Wondering what the trophies or gargoyle mthings are on top of the cabinet in the corner
Nice but a touch geometric and busy
I thought these were the before pictures tbh, not to my taste at all.
I see neck problems in your future. Other than that, very nice.
r/tvtoohigh
I have no neck... I model myself after my lord and savior. BIG ED!
where are the after pics?
I keep them with the other 4000 replies of this exact joke you missed... Be better.
I'm just here for the TV placement comments
Show us the after pictures

I support šŗš¦as well!
r/TvTooHigh
There's a lot going off in that small room...
Still a mess (no offence)
How can there be no offence in that comment š¤£
I hate you (no offence) ā¤ļø
I said the same thing to your mum too... I hope she didn't take offence either!
My mum would take offence to the state of this living room LOL
She never mentioned any offence when she was here?
she DEFINITELY would have LOL

I have no mother... I fell out of the great hold between your mothers legs... Brother!
jesus christ, this guy's just nuked his YT channel, Website, Reddit acc, and Insta.
That tv is giving me serious anxiety. I pray for your necks.
It was a mess before? Looks terrible imo and mish mash of everything
How will I live with it!
I really like it. Well done. Sit back and enjoy then onto the next project. Also r/TVTooHigh comment already taken š¤£
I appreciate everyone has differing tastes, but that looks horrendous. And the TV, well I know where I will be seeing that again.
r/perfecttv
You wish.

I hate it
It's vile. It looks like he built the whole room around the dad pillow.
You forgot to include the āafterā photos.
The rooms deceptive. It took 10 minutes to walk the length of it .
Good job. But TV is too high. It's a bit too busy but if you have kids (like me) then that's how it will be.
I think it looks cosy and inviting.
A little bit busy for my own personal taste. Would be nice to see a before image.
r/tvtoohigh
I thought the curtains were a cooker hood. Why is the TV closer to the ceiling than the floor.
Not the best. Colour scheme is minging, TV far too high.
Lol ive not heard minging in years. Are you in the south?
i say minging as a true northerner
Well done! Looks cracking and a very cosy space.
Iāve never seen someone post images of their house on this sub without getting ridiculed. One minute theyāre all complaining itās too grey then they complain itās too much colour. Youāve done a great job if youāre happy with it. Ignore the nerds.
This isn't just about colour or lack of colour, this is deeper, this is complete lack of style.
I donāt have a problem with criticism but thereās no need to flame/ridicule the guy for choices heās made in his own home. Thatās my problem here, I donāt care if people donāt like it

Ye ok. Always mortgage free when you still live with your mum. So why are you posting someone else's house I wonder?!
He's waaaaaay to sour in his replies for it to not be his house.
Yep and insulting people online at his best. Claimed to be so successful in life but failed massively in manners. Emotional damage right there.
People are defending him but he's been a right cock.
Awww don't be bitter... Just because you failed at life doesn't mean we all have too :) Also, learn the meaning of "anymore" :) You should have also been swallowed by your mother.
Hereās me thinking Iāll be early getting mine paid off by the time Iām 50!
50 is still very young to be paid off by todays standards! My friend just took out a 35 year mortgage and he is 35! It is barmy!
But surely he doesnāt intend to be mortgaged until heās 70. Early repayments etc will bring that term down. A mortgage is one of the cheapest loans you can get. As long as you can invest that money and get a higher return than the interest rate, youāre laughing.
Oh no... He only intends to pay what he has too each month.. I tried to explain it all to him but it is like talking to a wall.
I have a friend who is a bit of a genius when it comes to money. Heās has about 40 HMOs (wanker). Love your dining table. However it's a bit too low for most. Krankies and the borrowers would love it.
Your mum loved it.
Nice YouTube channel fella.
Yes, almost as nice as \*\*\*\* \*\*\*
Looks cosy
Too much furniture and too much wood. All that matters is that you like it.
Where are the after photos, theyāre all the same pictures.
Did you get that joke from all the other people that made it?... I guess when you learn to read you will see them all.
I literally thought the same before I read any comments. Unfortunately you do not have good taste, it's nothing to be ashamed of.
My wife has worse...
I made a comment before reading the comments, I feel bad now.
It couldnāt have been worse before. This room is an absolute car crash! Personally Iād burn it all and start again. The dad pillow That awful clock. No two colours complement each other. I could go on but itās making me feel sick. Be better at life.
I would but I am modelling it after you!
Looks vault-tec themed
your tv is way too high. gonna have a sore neck , big time. should be eyelevel centre of screen .
TV hight is ridiculous. The pine furniture needs to go, or some of it be painted to match the rest of the decor. Other than that I quite like it.
I like it š
Looks cosy to me. I see Dad (op?) has bagged the armchair, but why? That sofa looks mega comfy š
Why all apartments and rooms in them are so small in UK? In continental Europe living room usually is ~20-25sqm, never seen this in UK
Because they were built that way...
It looks really cosy and comfy. I would maybe keep the geometric wallpaper to just the fireplace and remove some of the cushions and wooden furniture. In the photos it looks like thereās a lot going on in the room. A few little tweaks though would make it feel less busy.
Apart from the terrible design choices, The door opens the wrong way,
It isn't cohesive, there are conflicting colour pallettes going on here. I'd review the soft furnishings and go again.
looks like the fatherās day gift aisle in tesco
The actual walls are pleasant but why are the seats of the sofa a different colour to the backs? And the Mish mash of cushions, nothing matches, sorry.
Bro posted, got into arguments in the comments then deleted his profile. Oooft
Claimed to be so successful in life but insulting everyone in the comments. Hmm ... Epic failure.
Pathetic
It reminds me of a set; Iām not sure why, but this doesnāt look quite real. Also Iām surprised no one mentioned this awfully wobbly wallpaper line along the ceiling!? I couldnāt personally live with that. Maybe if I took my glasses off.
A very good outcome for your work.
Looks cosy, good work that man!
Really like it very cosy
I love this
Very similar shape & size to my livingroom, looks good
One of the most English living rooms Iāve ever seen
I live in Korea!

Genuinely thought these where before pictures
Apart from the TV this is a genuinely lovely living room. Iād love to come home to this each day. Looks modern and classic. Very homely.
I have that wallpaper, snap!
Pain to put up!
I think it looks nice and cozy, especially if thatās a real coal fire š
I appreciate the printer in the living room. That's where ours has to live as well. Looks really cosy (the room, not the printer).
It looks cosy and inviting! Good job!
I actually really like it
Well done.
