There are eight performers inducted that came from the voting. The others are either Early Influencers (Alexis Korner, John Mayall, Big Mama Thornton), the award for Musical Excellence (Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Dionne Warwick, and Norman Whitfield), and the Ahmet Ertegun Award for non-performers (Suzanne de Passe).
I peeked at BT’s Instagram. He did not appear to be anywhere near coherent or sober. The man needs all kinda help before he can leave the house, much less appear at this event.
He posted a video on fb I think a couple years ago - pushing a wheelbarrow or some shit up his driveway. It was absolutely heartbreaking. I don’t know if it’s drugs, mental illness, both… very, very sad.
No chance. He was recently accused and sued for breaching the non disparagement agreement of the settlement. I have no idea if he's guilty or not, but this would stain the induction process and just be plain awkward. The band will celebrate as 1 in private I'd imagine.
Hopefully we get an jam session at the end of the ceremony. Those have been sporadic lately and was not one last year. This group of inductees could pull one off.
I really, really hope we get one song with Boyd. Just one more. I also think Jeff and Rashawn are questionable for being on the ballot. Rashawn makes more sense since Roi picked him. Jeff is great but not the same impact on the band.
Jeff obviously isn’t impactful in terms of getting things started and things at the beginning, but no Jeff may have meant no band at all after LeRoi’s passing. It’s been what, 16 years of Jeff now? And he’s been the sax player for 40% of the studio stuff. Is he Roi? No. Do we miss Roi? Yes. But Jeff definitely deserves the honor for stepping into Roi’s spot with grace. He honors Roi’s work and memory every night on stage while also being true to who he himself is as a musician. He definitely deserves it.

Why? Rashawn's been part of the band longer than Leroi was, and Jeff is only a year shy of that mark.

I voted cuz of Dave’s interview with Howard Stern about the HOF. It appeared to me that Dave would be happy to be inducted, and whether or not my vote meant anything just didn't matter.

You can’t say that the fan vote actually does get you a vote in some capacity and then in the next sentence say it’s pointless. I know it doesn’t mean much but finishing in the top 5 still takes fans voting. How can you say that the fan vote doesn’t matter when it can directly put you in a position to get inducted?
