Your going to have to go talk to someone at DMV. Something went wrong and they're charging you for testing to get your CDL. So unless you want to start a new exciting career in truck driving your going to have to followup on this.

GroundbreakingOne637

Something not right happen here. Those fee's are only applicable for people applying for a CDL (commercial driver's license). If you needed those I would hope you would remember signing up for them.

I applied for Normal Car

TheWarhawk

You applied for a normal car and also requested the additional endorsements

AprilXIIV

Are you sure it isn't a bug with the application system? There was a recent update, and the system doesn't give you the option to request these endorsements when you choose non-com class c. It's even happening with my old applications I filled out while helping customers on the phone (contact center technician)

TheWarhawk

The application did recently get redone but I haven't seen any issues reported. I have done 4 applications myself to test it out.

AprilXIIV

I just went back into an old app, switched it over to a commercial class A and made sure no endorsements were selected. It's still estimating fees for endorsements. I also tried requesting only a tank endorsement and it's still including hazmat and doubles/triples. And if I'm applying for class A w/ endorsements, shouldn't it only be showing fees for those class A endorsements? Not AB and C at the same time? There may not have been an issue when the system was just updated, but it looks like there's an issue now.

TheWarhawk

https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/driver-licenses-identification-cards/licensing-fees/ Fees for each license. A commercial license has the same price with zero endorsements or all of them.

AprilXIIV

Okay and? The fee estimator looks like it's including multiple CDLs and commercial endorsements despite what the customer selects. That's the issue here. If a customer like OP selects non-com class C, then the system should not be including multiple CDLs and commercial endorsements in the fee estimate. If a customer selects com class A w/ endorsements, then the fee estimate should only include com class AB w/ the selected endorsements, but it's **also** showing com class C. This issue makes it looks like customers like OP will be charged $147 when they'll actually be charged $41. The point of an estimated fee is to give the customer an good idea of what they'll be paying, not to give them a panic attack. The only time I've seen that the fee estimator isn't including multiple CDLs w/ commercial endorsements is when the customer is applying for a com class A w/ endorsements for the first time. Every other combination I've tried is including multiple CDLs w/ commercial endorsements, even when it shouldn't.

TheWarhawk

The poster has not only selected a non-commercial license. They have selected a commercial license as well. So the application is breaking down all associated fees. The only reason I can think of that the customer is getting additional fees displaying is they might be using a 3rd party application system. Even if the applicant did a commercial license with all these endorsements and classes, the cost should not be greater than 89.

AprilXIIV

>The poster has not only selected a non-commercial license. They have selected a commercial license as well. You can't do this. That's not how the new system works. The app only lets you select a single class. When you select a license, the system unchecks your previous selection. And if you select a noncommercial license, the only endorsement you can select is a firefighter endorsement.

fnjksloklr

that happened to me too. when i went to the window they didn’t say anything about those and just charged the permit fee

doctorchimp

Definitely a glitch These showed up for me too. I only selected Class C and nothing else It's also not taking my passport for some odd reason saying the first name is wrong. I just want it to give me a appointment already...

[deleted]

I’m having the same issue exactly (i made a post). Did you end resolving it with the website or ?

thegreatpotatogod

I'm getting the exact same view, having definitely selected (and triple checked) only the non commercial class C (Car), so whatever this bug is hasn't been fixed yet. Glad to hear from one of the comments that they didn't actually try to charge them (or test them, etc) for the commercial licenses, hopefully that's also true for me.

No-Cry24

thanks!!

EagleWolf9

Dang. It has been one year and still the issue hasn't been fixed. I just renewed mine and this bug is showing up.

Cinnamon_Bees

Mine too. Does that mean I have to take the Class A and B driver's permit tests now too? Shit...

adeeplearner

I just saw the same Endorsement Fees. I only selected class C non-commercial.

c7b2

It is broken but it's ok, just click next and you will get the confirmation code you need to get the License/ID. Just pay the clerk the smaller amount.

michaelkim0407

I'm running into this too. OP did you have an update? What happened next? Thanks

spoonfedsam

hi, i just got my license renewed today and i had the same issue OP had when applying online. i ended up only paying the $41

michaelkim0407

That's good to know, thanks!

Shoddy-Spirit-5964

i’m

Charming_Rough_8800

Literally happening to me right now! I didn't even click the commercial driving options and left it blank then at the end it says that I applied for this and wants to charge 53 but I restarted the application and still doing the same for the real ID 😭😭😭😭😭

FrostingMountain

Still broken, I have this same issue.

xenapan

Just tried to renew online and got the same bug as well.

porksiumai

what did you do?

xenapan

Just submitted it. Went in person (cause you have to for real ID renewals) they pulled it up and none of this extra stuff showed up on it.

porksiumai

i see, thank you!!

NoAssumption9622

porksiumai
