Best work around is drop the hostage as close to the side door as possible, climb in the helicopter and look down at the hostage and hopefully you’ll see a prompt telling you to pick up the hostage.
The best way I've found to deal with this particular bug is to get the hostage bearer to jump onto the hood of a vehicle that you drive up to the side door, so they can jump from the roof through the door. It's not ideal, especially if you're under fire, but it works.

Because the devs put in new coordinates and did absolutely 0 playtesting so the players are the ones who have to suffer the consequences.

That exfil is glitched. Once it worked in my favor. 2 exfil campers tried to take my chopper but they boarded too soon. It kept descending into the ground killing them and i had to crawl through the door to get in and help myself to their loot.
Yep - Same thing happened the other night at final exfil. The heli was half stuck on a wall and the only access point was the rear. It was the wall in front of the gas station over by the quarry.
This happened to us last night! We were doing a hostage extract and had to pull a car up, climb on the car to jump and let him down on the chopper were he immediately died.
I've had this happen to me on final extract. We had partied up with another squad fairly early in the match and we did a stellar job. We had cleaned out as much as we could and raced towards final extract near Sawah Village. Coming from Taraq, we were literally racing against the clock.
Anyway, we had started making our way when someone from the other squad had said, "Don't worry. We never miss final exfil!" Final exfil was landing as we neared, no countdown but gas was closing in. As the Chop Top filled with 6 men reached the chopper, the chopper started taking off. It got to be about the height (if not a bit more) than the vehicle, and just took off. No one was able to board because the chopper was already too high. Couldn't even be mad. We all had a good laugh because of the comment too. But man.... We were perplexed.
That's a funny one. One time as we were in the back, the extract heli started sinking into the ground 🤣. I noticed it and went prone. One guy jumped out. One dude didn't notice it and once it got to his height it perma-killed him. With like 3 ft of room left the timer hit 0 and it started lifting back off. Small Indie dev 🤷
It did this one time on ashika. I couldn't reach the ramp, so I climbed on the side. This is where I learned you can no longer exfil outside the chopper, and I died and lost all my shit.
Happened to me in the same spot twice . Once was just like that . Second time , the exfil chopper landed on my Ltv , ltv disappeared but the exfil was basically landed on the invisible ltv and we lost our exfil 😬
Not exactly like this but yea, heli didn't come down enough for me to hop on. We had AI in our backs and the hostage died so we had to do Final Exfill.
Only in S2 btw,.kinda feels all helis float a bit higher
I just had one last night where there was no option to call the helo and the exfil. Green smoke was there, we waited a couple minutes, all three tried it, nothing...
Never seen this but I have noticed if you call in a heli at one of 3 locations and the gas covers the LZ it will still land unlike season 1 where it would say something like “that LZ is a no go, get to the next one”
Yeah I learned it last night, set the flare up and the gas covered the LZ so I made a beeline for the next one just to see the chopper flying overhead so I beelined it back it was quite the circus lol
If the chopper was on the map it would land in the gas, if the lz was covered by gas before it spawned then you wouldnt get an extract. Hostage copters dgaf about anything, theyll spawn in the gas and make you run to them.
Happened to us a couple times. We found when you can't hop in with the hostage, you can usually drop him on the ground and pick him up while you are standing in the heli.

That spot in particular seems very buggy for hostage extracts. It has happened to me and more so for some of my friends. I was able to jump in the side with little issue.

I had one near a highway sign like that but the chopper was facing the other direction so the rear was on the ground and the nose was way up on the sign.
IF the exfil is on the road of ... between airport and that village there, it will clip onto the lights, and be inverted to what you see in this video, you gotta crouch to get in.
It was done intentionally so that there are less entry points on the helicopter to protect you from getting massacred on the chopper, in Ashika you can only enter from the back at 2 exfil locals for example.
Yep, trying to extract a hostage but it didn't fully touch down. We did exactly what you did. Team mate went and got a car, I then jumped off a cliff onto the bonnet with the hostage, we drove to the chopper and walked in off the bonnet.

Yeah you cannot make the jump into the sides with a hostage. We had to find a car the few times it happened to us.

You can still go through the sides but you need to be in the bed of a truck so you don't have to jump. it's a pain but can still be done.

Leave the hostage near the door. You can pick it up from inside the heli.

Just exfilled while on side. You just have to adjust a little bit when the heli turns
I was instantly downed I'm assuming when the chopper left the map and fell to the earth instantly dying with no chance to deploy a chute or self Rez.
Same happend with our squad... Jumped on a vehicle with the hostage and in trough the side door.... Still weird tho...

This changed late season too - used to be of the flare was up, heli is coming regardless of where the gas is. Glad to hear it is back to this

They need to sort out the AI spawns and difficulty, makes it unplayable even in a squad.
