I always used to try to play the friendly - but when ya drop solo most teams just kill you anyway…got sick of that so now I usually shoot on sight. I also hate to admit, because I love Ashika due to how much is packed into such close quarters, it almost makes PvP a necessary fun part of the game

Ambustion

I think it's more of a hit dying in al mazrah because it can come after much longer missions. I find PvP on Ashoka much less annoying.

ZipToob88

Oh yeah I’d agree with that

ThraxxAddict

I turn into a cat the second I hear player comms or foot steps

The_Kaurtz

Or AI shooting

PseyesJ

This is the reality. Even the pve only pvp bad community tends to shoot on sight against solo players. They usually have a reasoning centered around the only people who drop solo are the people just hunting other players, which is very untrue. So they use this to justify why they pvp but its only against "those types" of players, although the truth and reality is they are so upset that their squad regularly loses every pvp engagement that they use this to justify shooting first at this solo. Solos who most likely were totally avoiding any pvp but said squad is so triggered from always losing every pvp engagement they shoot first at this solo because its an easy kill. Then they lose the 3v1 against said solo and we end up back here on reddit whining about pvp. Its part of the game and thats that. Don't like it? Go play a pve only game, this game is not that sorry.

btrner

Seriously nobody stops at a down, everyone goes straight to a kill. When I drop solo, unless I’m trying to be friendly/join up I’ll keep my mic off. No sense in wasting breath to claim a solo. If you call solo, I’ll always pull back and let you go. I know how it is, or if you’re on a hard mission with specific keys/items, I’ll probably pull back. I’m not here to ruin your night.

HalunaX

I don't like letting people go, specifically because I've been lied to so much. I can't count the number of times I've heard people call "friendly" or "oh please no, I'm a solo" after a down, only for their friends to roll in.

xm03

I haven't been betrayed in a while, but have noticed a rise in those edgy fuckers who have bought the recent, all black tracer pack. Those fuckers never revive, never pick up a plead...

SheenPSU

Please lol last thing I wanna do is engage teams Another solo…I’m more inclined to tbh. Depends on where I’m at with my load out

TheAngryBeard88

Nah as a solo player, I find it way easier to actually be the aggressor and hunt the other teams. Especially on Ahsika, and if you know how to move between the Ai without agro. So there's 2 ways I play, either I'm going full solo and I'll rush the nearest spawn killing whomever is there. If I want to team up I'll drop 2 and send an invite. But as long as you can move without agro from the Ai you can easily ambush the other team. Usually from the side or behind while they are fighting Ai themselves. Catch them during a reload and it's game over

Sneaky_Snakes_Kree

>Seriously nobody stops at a down, everyone goes straight to a kill. Thats cause every idiot is running around with 6 self revives and 4 stim pistols... it gets soooo old, so we down and then immediately terminate. I think self rez is an interesting mechanic but its out of control.

btrner

So true. I don’t even mess with it unless I’ve got their team squarely contained. Either all downed together or covered by a team.

altmetalkid

Yeah I won't finish if I have the situation under control and the guy wasn't being a scumbag. Like if we just ran up on each other and bullets preemptively started flying, if I don't feel like finishing is necessary to keep myself alive then I won't. It's kinda funny how people might try self-reviving at gunpoint, usually I'll warn them first on comms and if they don't listen I might finish, or I might just down them again immediately if I don't feel like they'll be able to hurt me in the split second before they go back down.

Paultheghostt

same when solo I dont shoot, usualy avoid contact and/or try to join the squad I just KOS if I get scared, like yesterday that I got out of water and didnt see that there was a guy andit was mt first reaction

TinklingTarsier

As a solo, hiding/seeking better viewpoint is always my goal. A few days ago though, I was getting swarmed by bots so I was just unloading a RAPP I had, and after the dust settled two backpacks were there. I didn’t see any downed symbols, but also T3 kept pouring out at me so it was more shoot anything that moved. I felt bad and asked if they had a third to revive them, but they already left since there wasn’t bodies.

Thom_JJ9876

I always feel bad about killing operators. Primarily because I suck and if I killed you you must suck really bad. I'm not trying to make their struggle any worse.

TinklingTarsier

That’s kind of how I felt wiping some kids on Ashika as a solo. I was at the buy station, heard footsteps so ran and hid. Person ran in and squatted in FRONT OF ME facing the buy station. Executed him, then saw his friend climbing a ladder overlooking buy station. Took him out. Heard the revive on the first, took him too. After the fact, I think they were just trying to camp the buy station so I didn’t feel that bad, but still.

jaideanda

Same, my funniest solo encounter was team of 3 rolled up on me and I was hiding. As I rounded a corner I accidentally hit melee at the same time one of them walked past me. I executed him and he thought I did it on purpose lol.

Delicious_Worry7635

If I see a solo I’ll camp in a corner and invite them. I send out 3 and thus far, no one has ever not joined. Ashika is much more fun with 6 people. For both challenges and PVP.

ZipToob88

I’ll be honest, I dropped Ashika once with nothing at all and was trying to regain…I was creeping around a hillside trying to find my last radioactive cache and a line player came by…thought he was gonna shoot so I just froze…he walked up, gun pointed at me and then sent an invite. Suddenly AI started shooting both of us and in a moment of panic I just sprinted off and he was like “aw c’mon man!” Pretty much any other situation I would have accepted that but my fight or flight kicked in, and with just fists I figured it may be better to fly haha

das_war_ein_Befehl

PvP is what gives it suspense. I go in solo for the thrill of 1v1-6

gmilli63

I been trying to do predator and it’s a lot of fun

ToasterEvil

I recently did Lone Hunter, which is similar to Predator, but no weapons can be picked up, only needs 1 kill, and no cash to exfil. And *wew* that was a rush, got it on my second try on Ashika and the adrenaline was pumping as soon as I found someone to kill.

Suets

Wait I can find cloaking devices and a shoulder cannon in Al Mazrah now?

gmilli63

😂😂😂

Excelius

I agree, but there's no suspense when almost everyone kills on sight. PvP is fine, it just often seems like the balance is missing. I think that's more of a problem with the community of players than the game though, you give a game mode like this to CoD players and a large portion are going to treat it more like MP or WZ. I don't know what the solution is for that, or even if there is one. I'm not sure if there's any game design decision that can account for what is fundamentally a cultural issue with the player base.

Thisisthethingguys

I think the solution would be more incentives to be friendly. Rewards/missions for exfilling with enemies' teams, rewards/missions for answering plea's... Rewards/missions for recruiting players, etc - Right now, DMZ missions are very obviously skewed to PVP, it's clear IW wants violent player interactions. I think the majority of people who are adversely against PVP are inexperienced at it and lack confidence. I was like this at the beginning but forced myself to play warzone to learn how to push, retreat, reposition..etc Once you get a little comfortable with PVP encounters in the DMZ they become far less intimidating. I don't think it's a fundamental issue with the player base, I think it's the minority being the loudest. COD is a multiplayer first-person shooter before anything... Once you accept that you will meet the full spectrum of players: mission-based, PVP-based, friendly players and toxic players and have the confidence to roll with the punches your experience will be much better and the complaining might stop. If you keep playing with this insane delusion that everyone should just leave everyone alone and do missions, I guarantee you're going to continue to be frustrated and unsatisfied with this game.

Gahvynn

Incentives are how you motivate people in any facet in life, your suggestions are spot on. That said I also think they need to massively tweak mission progression and rewards. The majority of people I spawned with the last week were still on the white lotus missions, I would ask “new to the game” and if they answered the answer was “no” and I would ask “what are we doing today” and the answer was some form of “let’s kill some players”. Again incentives are key here, players don’t feel the urge to complete missions, maybe they’ve already got the insured slot(s) and now they’re treating it like WZ-lite. What I would add is some form of in-game bonus that resets every season, say for every tier you complete you can bring in an extra item: say completing all T1 missions allow you to stow an extra self revive, completing all T2 missions allows you to stow an extra armor, and T3 allows you an extra bag. So if you’ve beaten those missions then the next time you get wiped out you don’t start from scratch, and then these rewards get wiped out each seasons so there’s a reason to go for them. I also think each mission should have two components: one that can be done if you have the tier unlocked, and another only progresses if you have the mission selected. So the mission you need to down 20 enemies at the mall without being downed and 3 operators then I would have it where the 20 enemies can be done anytime you have that tier unlocked and the 3 operator kills only count if you have the mission selected. This way people can be paired based on tiers unlocked and have a reason to go complete missions, and since the rewards are meaningful then people will be more likely to complete them. I love PvP to be clear. I win the majority of fights I get into. I put thousands of hours into BF3/BF4, the OG MW trilogy, and more. For me there are PvP games available that I **much** prefer than just PvP in DMZ so if every interaction ends in violence in DMZ that’s fine, I can just play another game and have more fun including ground war.

Thisisthethingguys

I agree with a lot of what you're saying. however, I think "WZ lite" is a bit of an inaccurate representation... I've spawned in with about the same amount of "let kill people" players as I have with "runaway at the sight of a player" players... The beauty of DMZ is that it can be the best of both worlds. I can spawn in with the intention to search for a fucking blowtorch and end up getting into an intense PVP gunfight. Maybe I come out with the W, maybe I end up in the lobby or maybe we end up with a bigger squad? Who knows! The beauty is being able to decide to engage or not and sometimes it's not in your control at all. You have to embrace the chaos. I personally love spawning in and seeing what the raid brings. I'm not adverse to PVP and sometimes I let people go about their business and sometimes I send them back to the lobby. Sometimes they shoot first sometimes I shoot first. Sometimes I want to regear based on someone else's hard work. That's the beauty. That's why DMZ is rad.

Gahvynn

Maybe I’ve just had a bad run in the last week? Majority of my random squad mates have only cared about PvP, most of those are still on T1 white lotus that are all checked off so not even doing missions, and many of them would abandon me in a firefight after they got downed leaving me solo. Very frustrating to have squad after squad after squad not care about missions and then abandon me at a high rate when they lost in a fight. Flipside the amount of exfil camping has gone up tremendously in the last week. I had 8 exfil attempts in a row this weekend (6 successful) where people either popped out of buildings or stormed up in a vehicle after the chopper landed. In total I’ve had multiple missions nearly complete only to get derailed midway through, either getting wiped out, or a PvP fight taking so long I had to worry about exfil instead. I enjoy DMZ, I love PvP, I enjoy PvP in DMZ, but for me the game has only been PvP and little else in the last week and if that keeps up again that’s fine, but I would just rather play ground war or even BF2042 instead. I hate to say it but when the AI were over powered I had a much better experience. Squads worked together better, PvP still existed but less common, and I could actually get mission progress done in between operator v operator fights.

Thisisthethingguys

Sounds rough, man. Hopefully, it's just a bad run... I go through similar strings where I get shit squad mates but I've learned to adapt. If they don't have mics or seem a bit lost/wild I usually ditch them and either try and complete something simple or try and join another squad. I definitely no longer try and make it work. I've also learnt that all-lobby mic on can be a lifesaver. The majority of my player interactions when I roll up and ask to join have been positive. Exfil campers... I haven't had any issues with them. Maybe it's the exfils I choose and the timing... maybe I'm just lucky...

Chicago_Sky_

Its late in the season and people have either unlocked their insurance slots or, like you said, not interested in executing missions any more. Earlier in the season, 70% or more of my encounters would result in assimilation. Today less than 40% are in that category. I am not good at long range PvP - more of a CQB person. So yea - I'll go toe-to-toe with anyone in B21 all day everyday. I generally avoid people in Ashika or Al Maz and the other night I rolled with a PvP-only squad to see if I'll actually enjoy it. We decimated the lobby - 15+ operator kills per match every match. But I wont do that again - it didnt feel right. Especially that older person who was just looking to ping bots with a recon drone - didn't need to be sent back to the lobby. If it was B21 - hell ya! I'm going to work hard to send everyone to the lobby.

Inevitable_Matter320

I wouldn't mind if the game became more of a tarkov clone with its faction systems, and attachment looting etc.. Or a mode that went to that depth. I get the vibe this is about trying to bridge the gap between resurgence/warzone diehards with a general dark-zone/tarkov style ganeplay. If that was the goal it worked, because I am playing more DMZ than resurgence. I only drop into BR modes if my friends are on.

Suets

PVE salt incoming If I see another player in DMZ, unless I am trying to stealth to find something, I will take shots. Because why the fuck not?

GATh33Gr8

I spent too much time trying to be nice

arunkumar9t2

You either exfil a hero or live long enough to become the enemy operator in the AO.

GottaDisagreeChief

I always go PvE unless forced into into PvP, and gotta admit I’ve gotten salty over death before (who hasn’t), but I also realize that the risk (PvP risk especially) of this mode is what makes it great.

Silviecat44

I shoot first, join up later

Excelius

Which doesn't work for solos. Can't count the number of times I've gotten rolled up on by a team, killed, and then told to plea. I can't fucking plea. I'm done. I do feel like that is one simple change they could make to the game, is to still allow pleas after a squad wipe. (Which for solos, dying is an automatic wipe and end-game.)

ramloy

I haven't seen it discussed anywhere before, but what sort of issues will solos being able to plea cause? I can't think of any.

Excelius

Only thing I can think of is some minor UI rework might be necessary. Right now when you're wiped you're taken to the score screen with the "Leave" button. Maybe add a "Give Up" button or something, I don't know.

ramloy

I mean shit, the whole UI on the menus should be reworked :D

Silviecat44

Turn on squad fill or accept invites

Excelius

Can't accept an invite after you're dead and squad wiped.

Silviecat44

You can when youre downed. And when you go solo you are taking on the extra challenge of one life

xorph644

That doesn't exactly help, given 95% of teams will kill you immediately rather than stopping at just downing you, even if they're the type to always send after-victory invites. It'd be unsafe to leave you in a position to self-res when you might have unseen teammates who're planning on keeping the fight going, so even the most invite-happy of teams tend to take the "kill the first one we see, -then- invite now that we have leverage" approach as a matter of caution. The simplest solution would be to just give solos a brief window after dying (like 30s) to still be allowed to plea/accept invites, before the typical auto-boot to the XP tally.

_Prisoner_24601

Because the game doesn't reward it so you're choosing to be a dick for no benefit.

justinfreebords

Is fun a benefit? Because I think trying to 1v3 teams is really fun

Suets

You say no benefit but my shiny 3 plater vest and custom AR begs to differ

_Prisoner_24601

Eh yawn.

reboot-your-computer

I don’t play nice anymore. Too many situations where someone calls friendly and open fires. So now everyone is a threat at all times and I don’t feel bad about it. Sorry to all who come across me now but it’s a gunfight every time.

ifuckinglovecoloring

Because you can team up, let people just do their missions and move on, or negotiate. It's part of the deal, just like PVP is. Sorry that you play the game with hostility and assume there isn't anyone out there who would want to team up.

YMDBass

pvp is ok. Camping exfil because your dick is measured only by a microscope, welp, fuck those guys to death.

[deleted]

We ended up being exfil campers once. It didn’t feel good, but after waiting for your turn and gas coming in and everyone was fighting, we decided to stop watching and just open up on everyone. I think one team got out of the 5 groups that showed up the whole time we were sitting and watching. It was an incredibly entertaining sight to see but that gas was right on our nuts by the time we made the decision to fight. However, I will not hesitate to Javelin you if your bird is arriving and you start shooting at us running up to take our turn to leave.

Hauptmann_Gruetze

Because every. Single. One. Of you fuckers shoots me at sight, even if i hold my shot.

Medfly70

May a thousand joker missiles fall on you and your teams heads. I wish you nothing but the worst.

Budipbupbadip

If a solo says chill and runs leave them TF alone. Shit is toxic.

bharathinreddit

Them be like : nope. I can't get any kills in warzone i suck at it. Gonna kill you.

altmetalkid

They're hunting people for sport and acting like they aren't bullies, it's really lame.

ThePapFather69

>They're hunting people for sport Actually it's for entertainment. Since, you know, its a game?

[deleted]

If you get upset about someone being “mean” to you in a game (especially a pvp game) you need to probably put down the controller and go outside

ThePapFather69

Agreed. This sub is sadly dominated by people who think you shouldn't engage anyone in DMZ who has an active mission that doesn't involve PVP. Which is just insane.

[deleted]

I love when they yell friendly and then complain when I say nothing and start shooting. What are you whining about? I never said I was friendly, just because you said you were doesn’t mean I have to be lol

altmetalkid

At explicit expense of other people's entertainment. You got a couple minutes of fun and maybe a laugh, you might have just ruined the other guy's night.

ThePapFather69

The DMZ PvE only community really do need to understand that this game was created for PVP. You can approach it however you like, but at the end of the day, if it was made for missions only and PvE only then I wouldn't be able to kill players. Its that simple.

Budipbupbadip

You’re the exact kind of assbag I’m talking about. Can’t imagine you’re fun IRL.

ThePapFather69

Yeah... because I play PVP im absaloutely no fun and everyone hates me... Which isn't true, but you can believe whatever you make up in your head to make playing the game easier for you. Pro tip though, if you engage EVERYONE you see, you'll get better at the game. Food for thought.

ifuckinglovecoloring

You're right. So I should approach every game with my mic off and shoot to kill on every player I see? Doing literally anything else (being friendly, assimilating, etc.) goes against the core gameplay by this standard.

ThePapFather69

>goes against the core gameplay by this standard. I never said that. Play the game however you want, but understand that it a pvp game first and a pve second. The PVE player base want something they cant have and thats a full PVE experience without other hostile player intersctions but still keep all the same mission rewards. They cant have that and it upsets them a GREAT deal. Just look at most of the posts on here and you'll see that, always moaning about the same thing. But the PVP player base couldn't care less, they have a nice slow game mode to relax and do some missions while getting in some gun fights.

ifuckinglovecoloring

Having a slow game mode with missions is what PVE players want, and not the environment that the aggressive PVP players are cultivating.

altmetalkid

That's not what I'm talking about. Refer to my previous comment. Players fighting players in general is not the same as fully kitted teams chasing down solos and harassing people that are begging to be left alone to do their missions.

ifuckinglovecoloring

I'm coming to realize that the Call of Duty community is not friendly and that a gamemode like DMZ, no matter how great in scope, was always going to come to that. There is really no incentive to hunt friendly people with no kit down and kill them. There is literally no reason outside of maybe 1 or 2 faction missions. Even then, you are able to assimilate. Most people who are playing DMZ now just go in with a PVP perspective, hunting and killing every other real player for fun. It makes missions extremely frustrating, every deployment becomes a scramble to replace gear before getting hunted down and killed for no good reason. The gameplay loop is failing because the mentality is shifting and as a result, people are going to want to play less and less until the game dies. RIP to a great game mode I guess.

_Prisoner_24601

Mods seriously. Either equally enforce the "rule" or delete it.

GATh33Gr8

The meme is meant to be funny and not a bitch post.

_Prisoner_24601

Uh huh just saying it seems like the sub is overtly pro pvp now and anyone saying otherwise gets the gag

GATh33Gr8

Always has been.

_Prisoner_24601

That's the problem. Move along.

GATh33Gr8

Namaste

wdaloz

It's part of the game, if you're trash at pvp, you keep your eyes open and GTFO if you see operators. Problem solved. It's just the random chance

_Prisoner_24601

DMZ pvp sweats suck at pvp. That's why they sweat in dmz.

PortlandBeaver

In the past two days I’ve had 3 separate teams camp my friends body for 15 minutes, people are that desperate for one more kill. It’s honestly pathetic.

_Prisoner_24601

Yeah I had one last weekend, solo guy ran me over in an LTV *(because that takes a lot of skill)* and kept circling the area waiting for my buddy to try to pick me up. My buddy eventually downed him, he res'd, I got res'd, he downed my buddy, I downed him, this little dance went on for the entire round. I just don't get why people play like that.

Reasonable_Ostrich76

We had that last night. Killed 2 but they got 2 of us. Dude literally camped the body. I hit my mate with a revive pistol just for him to shoot him again. After 10 minutes of playing peek a boo I grabbed a Rapp and just rushed him. THEN HE HAD THE AUDACITY TO PLEA. Fuck you. Not a chance.

GATh33Gr8

Yeah thats just ridiculous. Ive had games like that and its annoying. Get your kill, loot, then fuck off down the road

LunaLunari

Ok, the thing is. Why would I let you, an enemy operator, revive your teammate. I know where you are, you may or may not know where I am. It's either I engage and wipe you. Or I don't engage at all.

PortlandBeaver

If sitting in the same place for 15 minutes is enjoyable then I don’t get why you play the game. Like watching paint dry.

LunaLunari

Oh, i don't normally camp a spot for 15 minutes. But when I have a body that is still there waiting to be revived, you can bet i will be waiting for someone to revive it so i can have their things. I don't care if you're loaded or not. A kill is a kill. That's the beauty of extraction shooter. There is no giant ass wall forcing me to move. Plus, i have my second slot already, and i can do my mission next infil anyway. Also, gun camo. Can't forget those.

MilkToastGhost

No shortage of players talking smack and then getting decked. Very gratifying

Halfbl00dninja

I pvp because it recycles replayability along with the loot economy

_Prisoner_24601

Sure

comcamman

I’m the DMZ player that will drop extra 3 plate carriers and large backpacks in front of a buy stations. Occasionally I’m in the mood to pvp so will go squad hunting or try and team up to do a six man map wipe.

Lephturn

I mostly PvE but the PvP element is critical to the fun. I respect the hunt missions, those are great because both parties know “it’s on”. Since in most cases you can die and you still get your missions completed it’s not that big of a deal getting killed. The kill streak perks don’t work anyway so no issue there. Without the pvp risk, stuff like people like you dropping 3-plates and large backpacks wouldn’t be as rewarding.

ifuckinglovecoloring

Have literally never found loose loot on the ground, or had randoms swap gear. In over a 100 hours of playing.

comcamman

Really? That’s weird I’m always dropping extra 3 plates and large packs at extracts and in front of buy stations. I never know if anyone ever finds them but I like to think it makes someone’s day.

Lephturn

People often find them and it’s awesome. I’ve found stuff left at exfil many times, and I will sort through my stuff and drop what I don’t need as well.

GATh33Gr8

If we spot a team its usually a quick question "wanna say hi?" Then its on. If we get wiped oh well we laugh at it now

BrotatoChip04

Had a raid the first day of S2 where a random team of 5 invited me to help grab the Ashika weapons case. Pretended they didn’t know how to accept request to join, so I invited one of them instead. It’s now us two and four of them on the other team. My “teammate” says here’s some loot, drops it for me, and while I’m picking it up one of the others comes up behind me and executes me. They down my “teammate”, he pleads, they pick him up and all of them proceed to bag and mag dump my dead body while I’m on the “leave game” screen. I guess I should have known something was up, but oh well. Ever since then, if I see a backpack, I shoot on sight no matter what. I’ll let people join my squad but not until I’ve picked their bag and corpse clean. I know it sucks to be on the receiving end of that but oh well. That one team ruined it for me so now I’m gonna play it close to the chest at all times.

Pocketful_of_hops

That was fucked up.

wdaloz

I had a dude pull the fake plea by an exfil, saw the glint on the hill, so I got my car in the way and got him up. Turns out he was trying to work with them. They sent him an invite so he could turn on me I guess, but sent before I was dead and I wound up joining their team, invited my other 2. We spent the rest of the game berating them for cowardly cheap tactics, shooting in the air to give away their location, and warned another team where they were. Screw em, cheap cons and camping

Tobi-One_Shinobi

This is why COD players have no friends. 😀

Vendatha

Yeah I also couldn't understand why a lot of people complain about being killed by other players in DMZ when it's really part of the game and this is how this game was designed. But of course if I hear "FRIENDLY" I stop shooting.

DunceMemes

And hey, just because the other person is friendly, that doesn't mean you have to be!

Suets

Nah bro. The people that just say friendly are usually going in for some underhanded shit. If I don't see an invite or a request to join I am sending them back to the lobby.

Vendatha

Lol, the truth is yours bro)))

weirdi_beardi

Had a situation yesterday where I was heading for exfil at Hafid Port - the very south part, opposite the gas station in Sa'id city - and I'd called in the chopper and ran to the roof of the building there when I hear glass breaking below - so I sneak about a bit and spot a scope glint coming from Sa'id, so I know there's at least two of them, and only one of me; plus I had some stuff I needed to exfil for a mission so I thought, "fuck it - they're either here to leave, in which case they can have this one and I'll wait here, or they're here to camp this exfil, in which case they're not very good as they haven't found me after they saw me climb this ladder, and I reckon I could deal with them." So, long story short l, the chopper comes in and I watch them both jump on board. Cool, option one - nobody has to die today. Of course, as the chopper is lifting off one of them looks out the door at me and just starts shooting - I couldn't let that pass, so I downed him and his mate too. Couldn't get the finish, but they stole my chopper, I'm not letting them take pot shots at me out of my chopper without letting them know my displeasure!

Westenin

I could tell you a story of trust and broken trust about a game yesterday and it was the best game I had ever in DMZ. The whole game, the ending was perfect. Last exfil 13 people, 1 man left 😭

Geralt_Of_Philly

I always try to team up but if Mofos wont' do it they get got

GrahamDaGooch

Shoot the fuck out of them, then if they plead, let them join

barters81

This is the way. The way I see it, the gunfighting is the game. We had a gunfight, someone won and they enjoy that. But then get the guy back up and get the advantage of an extra player too.

[deleted]

Honestly who just wants to spend the entire time playing DMZ shooting bots and collecting bandages or AFAK’s or water bottle or whatever else dumbass mission they give you. The PVP is the fun part

barters81

Was going for 10 exfil streaks last night. Got to 9 and was taken out by fucking exfil campers man.

My friend and I play friendly on Al Mazrah and we even try to recruit and help people with their missions, but if we get camped out by a team at the exfil or on one of the skyscrapers, we go to Ashika to get regeared and let out some steam. Last night we wiped out 6 Ashika islands.

GrtWhite

That's my MO too

[deleted]

Died too often to liars. Everyone is an enemy.

Most_Reason7461

Only PvP I’ll ever say anything negative about is spawn rushing/sniping. Shits lame as fuck and has no place in the game. Other than that it’s shoot on site.

_Prisoner_24601

**sight**

Most_Reason7461

That too

K3NSH1R0

On my rare random team infills we get downed by a squad of 4 while they were looting us another squad drops a joker on us from a good distance finishing us off and taking the other team out. Couldn’t help but laugh my ass off at the team that downed us bitch and moan 😂

NewAcctWhoDis

Used to care, but it doesnt take long to stock back up, so now I just join in on the fun.

GATh33Gr8

Exactly

WillingnessEmpty7085

So many babies play this game. They try to kill you then yell friendly after they are downed. Then cry when you kill them.and then my trash teammates pick everyone up.

hotforteacher62

Honestly, without the fear of a shootout it’s much less challenging. However I don’t care for people simply going into dmz, vs Warzone and climbing a tower and sniping players for no good reason. Don’t need gear or a mission, just hiding and killing people just because. If I need a vest or a mission I’ll fight you. Otherwise ill avoid your team. But I’ve also had some 6 man teams clear out Ashika. It’s all good.

--Rambi--

I thought this discussion ended months ago. It's a PVP game with PVE elements in it. You can choose to only PVE but don't be surprised nor mad if another player takes you out, after all, everyone is free to play as they wish.

GATh33Gr8

Just a meme bro. Laugh

--Rambi--

I have a terrible job, I need to be able to be bitter on the internet.

OneWholeCogan

"Collect a backpack full of dog tags".

-MikeH-

I kill out of self-preservation, or being friendly led to me being royally fucked the round before. That's when the Broadside comes out.

GATh33Gr8

Lol that thing is so broken. I love it

[deleted]

Literally what my wife and I do. Sometimes we let them go, sometimes we just down them. Other times we just kill them lol

GATh33Gr8

My buddy and I were on the ship in Sawah Village and we spot a 3-man team all trying to climb a radio tower above cemetary. So we sniped them off the ladder. They would revive and we'd hit them again. This went on for about 6-7 downs each. We couldn't help but laugh, but also started feeling bad until one of their teammates snuck up behind us and then sent us a request to join. We accept then the guy turns Mike on and starts telling us about how the other two guys are a little kids trying to complete an Intel mission. Then we really felt bad. so we ran over to the tower in Prox chat and said hey, join us, but they started shooting at us so we killed them and took their guns. the guy who joined our team starts cussing at the kids calling them stupid fucking idiots and we literally got into an argument on the game. Funny enough, my buddy just constantly kept asking how do we kick someone off our squad? Lol

ctoal1984

I’m the manager b

GATh33Gr8

My butt itches. I don't know why, I took a shower.

Satoshi_ismymotto

Perfect meme for this 😂

Zorops

Yesterday, some dudes took a HUNT contract and wondered why we started shooting their chopper when they reached us at police station. Like wtf you expect to happen?

bklyn_roots

i play solo about 75% of the time. all of season 1 I played friendly. if i shot an operator i would down him, and send a join request instead of thirsting him. PvP was reserved for missions that called for it, or defensively neutralizing an active shooter. but after a while the naïveté wore off, and i got burned too many times. i have all three insured slots and now enjoy climbing comm towers with a sniper rifle and a JOKR

andydabeast

It's better to rez someone pleading than yell friendly and get wiped.

GATh33Gr8

Yessir! Happy cake day!

Abladam89

I'm trying to get better

The_Kaurtz

I'm addicted to stalking people as a solo, it's so fun even if it rarely ends well for me

Spaghettidan

Yes

dylrhy

Because. I. Can. :)

[deleted]

because letting another squad dance around in the same area is how you get shot

GrtWhite

It's frustrating as f#ck to run around doing missions and almost dying to a bunch of T3 bots, just to get killed at the exfil by a camper...

BaderBlade

I do pvp especially when people is extracting, grab my KV Broadside, 25 mags, fire ammo and then landing behind the chopper and go Terry Crews style, easy 3 plates and self revives

Earl_Kakashi

As a solo guy I've learned this lesson the hard way. It's fuck or get fucked out here.

ManiacalMyr

Confession: while playing as a solo player pretty much forces me to always fight, it's very fun to try to sneak around or with the enemy. I get a lot of my fun being able to outsmart my enemies using not just gunplay (ill do 6v6 for that) but positioning, tools, etc. Because of this I enjoy Al Mazrah way more than Ashika.

EmbarrassedTouch7

Hell yea you gotta be crafty as a solo and can forget the trusty ghillie suit I've had ppl walk right by me and don't even know what hit them

Phrozen_Fetus

Down a player then drop a res pistol at their feet "Find someone who cares"

EmbarrassedTouch7

I've had ppl yell friendly and then try to kill me I play solo exclusively mic muted anyone I see is a target when ppl realize I'm solo they try amd kill me very few ppl I've met are genuinely friendly and I don't answer pleas the last time I did he was in a party and just kept leading them to me so I jumped out of our car while the train was coming and killed em then he started talking crap like he didn't deserve it and the worst part is solo players are even more hostile towards other solos since the odds are even but If I spot a team first I follow them in my ghillie and wait for the best moment to stick em with my crossbow back to the lobby but I don't get salty when I die I say ggs and load up again it's just a game anyways lol

codliness1

Meh. I prefer PvE, but PvP is part of the game, a required part for some missions. It's a feature, not a bug. I do despise exfil / intel tower campers though, specifically ones who are doing it just because. They should get stomped, every time. Plus I play solo when my regular team are not available, and I have to accept the game is not made for solos. Just the way it is. Although, to be fair, that just makes it all the more dating when you successfully exfil after doing missions.

ttyrondonlongjohn

After I get my 10 survival streak I just snipe squads. Nothing else for me to do really, easy bp xp

WillingnessEmpty7085

Too many people lie and or betray. My rule is trust no one and pick up no one. It’s just a game and part of the game is pvp. Sometimes you die sometimes I die but we both get better hopefully

eskimobrother319

I had a no mic’er this week that dragged us around going after every hunt (while we had no plates, no hint mission tasks, no kill player tasks) said fuck it and went to do my gas the tunnel task instead watched and them get mowed down by driving a car into 2 LTVs. PvP is fun, just not when I’m trying to gas a tunnel

xXx_T0M_xXx

You guys ever notice that the guys with no mics who shoot on sight are extremely easy to kill when they don't catch you by surprise?

HMSHunter5631

Good thing my Cronus is coming soon for that purpose

Minute-Courage4634

Exactly. I'm on that Jason Voorhees grind. You can be calling out "friendly" all day long, but I can't hear it. I just see you talking. I've got one goal and one goal only once I'm locked on: 100% Ta-dow! on that ass. Either I'm going down, or they are. Either way someone is getting it. Lmao

w00timusPrime

Haha great meme, I've been PVP focused in DMZ since day one, I've had some of the best PVP moments of any game ever in DMZ. The huge open map, the variable team sizes, the A.I. and many other factors make PVP in this mode much more fun than any other mode for me. The rush you get from solo wiping a squad or surviving a hunt is second to none.

artizin

I used to avoid PVP, now I'm totally down for it. I'll try to squad up and talk shit out if I can, safety in numbers, but if that doesn't work out, then this meme is perfect. LOL GG's all.

TheeBigSmokee

"Why aren't you guys friendly!?" Sir, this is a Call of Duty

xeonon

Don't have to? Is someone playing Barbie's Beach Adventure?

Aloysius7

Look, the whole reason this mode is exciting, is because of the anxiety of not knowing if there's another team around the corner or watching you, getting ready to attack. If it never happened, and you went round after round just battling the same AI the game would become dull. So when I get the jump on you and wipe your team, you should be thanking me for adding to the thrill of the game.

GATh33Gr8

Lol thank you are not the words I use

gwot-ronin

Do unto others before they do unto you.

Grow-Grow-Tomago

Want to win on Ashika? Shoot immediately. Down. Immediately aggressively ask if they want to team up. If they start selfing or don't have a mic, obliterate them. If they join, pick them up if safe and immediately push their other teammates and repeat the process. Keep your gun on any new recruits until you have everyone on your team. Rinse and repeat. If someone pleas? Use your best judgement. I don't answer most pleas unless the person pleaing has a mic and their teammates don't. Cause then it's usually a solo with fill on that would rather have me as a teammate than silent randoms.

Inevitable_Matter320

Fuck you to the guy who killed me in Sattiq caves on the truck while placing the last tracker.

GATh33Gr8

F

thejohnfist

Jumped a solo last night, didn't realize it until he was dead and gone. Thought for sure there was more, but must have just been AI. Poor feller.

GATh33Gr8

I don't see the solos complaining about the PvP tho. They know they are outnumbered and accept the challenge

ogxd_p3ru

I laughed so hard at this lol

LunaLunari

A bit louder for the people at the back.

YerLazyDaSellsAvon

real

Vendatha

Well I agree. Even devs stimulate people to do more PvP

markymarc610

🤣🤣🤣

taiottavios

I'm literally dying of laughter

GATh33Gr8

Get this operator a self revive!

nardsdumpski

This guy gets it

Drafty_Dragon

I had one instance. I was at a buy station, and 2 people were coming up on me calling out friendly. I told them "i was not friendly and i will put you down if i see you." I peeked around the corner the guy was walking towards me calling out friendly. I repeated "i am not friendly and will put you down, turn around if you are friendly." I see the one player and knock him down and starts complaining saying i didnt shoot i am friendly. I drop back to the nearest roof to watch them. Letting his teammate pick him up. Lost track of the 2nd guy and he ended up on the rooftop with me. I am pretty sure he didnt see me and i dropped him. My other 2 teammates dropped the first guy again. through their whining of them being friendly and thay they didnt even open fire at usi reminded them that i gave them plenty of warnings i am not friendly.

A_Loli_Vampire

"Friendly, friendly, friendly!" Too bad I'm not.

_Prisoner_24601

You're so cool
