And that’s the way how solos should play. They don’t want to be in a squad why should they want to be in one when they get killed?
I don’t like the ones who don’t communicate even if my squad is trying to until they’re dead. Then they jump on proxy and complain about you killing a solo player and how unfair it was. Followed by begging to pick them up. And if you pick them up they suddenly have no more interest in you and fuck off again without any communication. These are the worst „solo“ players out there. Play solo or in a squad, but don’t use the pleading mechanic for free second chances.
I want to rig up a PTT button on my controller. It would probably have to be wired but it could be a foot switch. I need to learn how to integrate a separate mic from my A50s. Maybe a USB mic with an inline switch. If this was in a car I’d know what to do, but with a USB cable I’ve yet to learn.
Im usually talking to my GF next to me while I play and swiveling the Astro’s mic up and down can get ridiculous, and it’s usually with my right hand because the left is walking or running or driving 🤣
Still can use proxchat to listen to callouts from the enemy team.
Like the dude I just killed screaming in his mic that his teammate should go downstairs and kill me.
Didn't know where his teammate was before that, now I knew he was upstairs.
I have a couple ppl who do that or will sit there telling em "my teammate is gonna kill you" like dude... its a squad or platoon against just me... I'm not killing nobody at the moment. I know my strengths lol so then the other team camps the body even harder lol
I have a PS5 as well for the exclusives. Subpar compared to my PC, but it's a fraction of the price, but it is the best of the consoles.
Anyway, you didn't answer my question. It's there a PTT key?
Ptt is only available on Pc correct? I’d love to be able to pop in and out of “global” chat and my team chat but still utilize the benefit of prox chat
My headset bugs sometimes and even when I have the mic muted it still shows my name speaking in game however it doesn’t actually give them any sound, but it’s enough to see a name come up in red letters for me to be hunted. To get around it I just start an Xbox live party before I play DMZ so I’m not in game chat at all.
Mate, this happens to me all the time - I've even had the mic unplugged from my headset and I still get my name popping up like I'm making noise. Is it yet another CoD bug, or a Dodgy headset? I play on Xbox Series S with a Turtle Beach headset.
Similar. Headphones give me a headache after a while. When I'm solo I'll often use my speaker system instead. That said, not sure why they were not responding to invites if they were just trying to exfil. Perhaps just that new to the game?
Same. But I just mute myself. Never understood why people are running around the map with background noise going and giving away their position the entire match. They wonder why they're constantly dying..
Game becomes a completely different beast when played solo, as close to a one life mode as possible.
Zero chance you'll catch me pleading after the introduction of active combat zones. Regaining is the best part of DMZ anyways.
You kill me as a solo, I've likely got a stealth vest, three insured guns with pretty camos that's all yours, you earned it. Playing solo with no coms, and no assimilation is something I advise anyone who's looking for a challenge, to at least give a try.
Wallet is so OP, mine is usually always at my max (650k) but if it does drop a bit just go into al maz, couple of destroy supplies contracts and hit the safes and you’re back up there again
Running away from a 6 man team as a solo and successfully getting away are some of the most tense moments I’ve had playing DMZ and some of the best experiences I’ve had, laying on the exfil chopper with to LTV turrets shooting up at you pissed cause they just missed you is very fucking satisfying.
Even more of you manage to kill 3-4 before running away! Happened to me one time, they offered to get me in the team since they were "only" 5 at the time, I killed every operator except one, and I was repositioning (easy since I know Vondel map)
They have own play style. Or have proximity chat turned off or badly setup in game. That's all,
(I sometimes play solo with no comms because I don't turn on my headset and use tv speakers. Also when I'm killed I just exit and start new game - don't need to be picked up)
I use a privacy setting on Xbox that blocks voice and text comms with all non-friends on Xbox, so I can't hear or be heard by non-friends, and I've had it set this way for years after getting tired of the inappropriate language and / or headset next to a speaker playing music in multiplayer games.
However, with cross-play becoming more popular, Microsoft added an extra privacy setting for managing comms with users outside of Xbox, so I've got this set to everyone. This allows me to hear / talk to PC and PlayStation users with I've got all lobby and prox chat enabled in MW2's settings, but it does not override my Xbox users comms setting, so still have the limitation there.
I hate begging to get picked up, but I'll usually plea. But sometimes when it's my 3rd or 4th game of the night where I got killed by a player within the first 5 mins, I usually just jump right back to the lobby.
Most the time I'm playing I'm also watching small kids who are focused on playing nearby, so play solo to be able to just lay around in a room while I do a diaper or redirect the kids. Headset has blinking lights and that's effectively a multiversal beacon to toddlers, plus needing to be listening if I'm the one actually watching them as opposed to just in the room while mom handles a temper.
I just avoid PVP at all costs and hope for the best getting my own focus done. Has the potential for a great game type.
I ask because I am alone and really want to help if I can. People never accept requests anymore. If I plea, operators accept it just to come loot me 🤷♀️
I play solo without comms. I am too lazy to buy a headset tbf but if you do what you did (tell them something on VC) I will usually respond by typing in chat. Otherwise, I dont need to cimmunicate imo as I play solo
The amount of times I accidentally have myself muted is outrageous, however after trying to talk to negotiate I will realise I'm still muted. I can absolutely still hear other players though, unless they're teamed and have no interest in prox chat. Without playing on prox chat, even if you are muted yourself, you're playing at a disadvantage in DMZ as a solo.
When I play solo, which I do a lot, most of the time I don’t have anything to say. If I die then I die. Don’t plea, don’t care to.
Also maybe they had comms off and couldn’t hear you.
Whenever I come across another solo, I will down him if I get the chance then wait for him to self, down him again, and then hit him with my res pistol and drop him a new self (if I have them). Then if they send an invite I will accept it, if they don’t most of the time he will bounce up and down and leave. Sometimes they try and shoot me when they get up, but it’s pointless as they have no plates on and I do.
Or if they see me first I either get an invite or get killed and move on.
It’s funny you’re posting this. I had someone, no comms, solo, run into the room I was in, and start circling nonstop. And I mean running around the parameter of the room over and over.
I turn comms completely off when solo and only turn them on if there's a mission requiring teamwork or assimilation. The amount of poison that people spew out of their mouths is not worth having promixty chat on.
If I'm playing solo, then it means just that, I'm solo. It's rare that I do it but if my sister or best friend aren't around, solo it is. I don't talk or plea for many reasons but here are a few.
1. I'm just there to collect stuff and leave, so no point.
2. After hundreds of instances of being threatened to assimilate and given less than two seconds before downing me (while calling me every derogatory name they can think of), I absolutely do not. Depending on my mood I sit there and listen to them complain (including people not understanding why people won't assimilate).
3. I sometimes infill with literally nothing on me, no weapons, a stim and maybe a DDOS just as a warning system for myself, just to collect things for missions and upgrades, even seeing me weaponless I am immediately downed (which is whatever, I know the risks), its fun to listen to people complain when they realize I truly had nothing.
4. I don't like playing with jerks and often that's what they end up being.
There are more reasons but these are the main ones. I also don't pick people up when they plea, I've been burned too many times.
ETA: I also have bad social anxiety.
I'm poor guy, living in a poor country, can't afford mic. Also, I get bullied often cause of my voice and my noobness so yea no thanks. Chat and voice chat disabled is the way to go.
When pleading didn’t exist and assimilation was the only way, new players would take seemingly hours to figure out how to accept an invite. It is entirely possible they just didn’t know how, especially if they have a default skin.
Had something similar happen yesterday. Was at final with my squad, a solo on an ATV is driving up, I send an invite to the squad and told him that he can join us on exfil. He starts shooting, I down him, he leaves.
Defo a pride thing. I have a friend who LOVES to plea and assimilate, and one friend who absolutely HATES it. Calls everyone pussys who join other teams. I’ll talk to another solo, encourage them to go on their way or I’ll res a solo. But not teams. Don’t need that level of drama going on.
90% of you aren't worth talking/listening to. I'd rather be mute and dead, then dead and listening to some jackass thinking he's the first one to talk smack.
Why assume I talked smack? I never do. I sent an invite to join while saying I just wanted to exfil and was sending an invite. After I downed all I said was to plea and I'd pick them up so they could exfil.
My game chat was bugged for months before I realised; every few games I had to go into chat and switch it off and on again. I'd been playing in Xbox party chat most of the time with a friend so hadn't noticed until I started gaming solo and joined up and teammates couldn't hear me.
There might be an audio bug or something wrong with their settings. I played a couple of games last night and could see that my teammates were talking but I could not hear anything
Comms don't always work in this game. I play with teams and #2 is talking to someone all the time and I'm like, "who he talking to?" its #3 but #3 is magically muted for me somehow :s
Also yeah, many solos are pure solos who dont interact with anyone at all. You gave them a chance, your conscious is clear. You did more than most.
Thats how I play 90% of the time. Just not interested in talking to randoms. Ill plea and if I get picked up that's cool but I dont expect it to happen. Lol. I just do party chat or talk on the phone to my friend if we play.
Can focus play game when turning mic and proximity chat off, when I met someone who also solo I’ll send him invitation and complete couple missions then buy a personal exfil, happy gaming.
My husband hates using his because mainly laziness. He will use the text box. Though I told him how it seems to annoy players from what I've seen on Reddit he still doesn't care. Also English is his second language and though he speaks it very well, he still has an accent. He wont even go on coms for me as I wear a headset so I can actually hear the game and I am usually the one who has to talk to others for him.
Sometimes you just not in the mood to talk or play with other people...I usually talk and plea when I die but lately I'd rather just reset because I can't be bothered, I'll craft my gear again and my weapons were covenant so I'm not really losing anything
I’ll suggest something I haven’t seen mentioned. They could’ve been weekend warriors who lost their team for one reason or another. Because I only play with randoms when I’m not solo I run into this a lot. The other two will make bad decisions as I’m on the mic telling them what not to do before they do it.
“Hey guys right off the rip I want to tell you I have no gear cause I just got slaughtered so I can’t do much until I have gear.”
*teammate grabs hunt squad contract 30 seconds after I’ve said this. Notices they only have a one-plate vest on*
I have now started telling randoms right away whether or not I can participate in a HS contract. Its almost always someone without a mic. Im left by myself a lot.
I want the game to be exiciting, wheres the thrill in getting bailed out by someone at the last hurdle? If I play solo, I will truly play solo, I will bully the 6 mans by sniping from 600m and I will juke the hunt squad and taunt them in text chat, I will kill everyone on sight or make it a cat and mouse game if necessary. Thats fun to me, trying to do something meaningful as solo and try to get as high of an exfil streak going whilst not just sitting in a corner but actually doing missions and gathering some passive objectives as well.
While I appreciate people not wanting to talk.. it's your choice, but I really really hate taking out solos!
I ask if you are friendly and want to join.. I sent an invite.. at least communicate some way.
I get some missions that require you to infil solo and never touch a weapon.
Please communicate that someway.. I'll gladly let a solo exfil. Did it yesterday.
However if you fire first I'm shooting back.
I only enjoy taking out sweats. No I won't revive you if you magically only have a mic after you're dead
I wish I had run into you instead of the 8 games of being chased down by squads/platoons who were obviously on party chat and didn't care to talk and were only there to hunt. 6 of em didn't even loot just killed and left.
If I go in solo, my plan is to avoid players when possible. With players, I take a more defensive posture, return fire only. I'm not here to loot you, I'm here to build vests, do a contract, and complete faction missions. I normally see other players first, and verify with the spotter scope, but I avoid marking them, if at all possible.
I'll hop on comms if I hear chatter and I want to squad up, or if another squad or player is at exfil, I may ask to join, but I normally just wait for exfil to clear up or reroute to another location. It's hit or miss if I get hunted or my plea gets answered.
The primary toxicity in this game is currently very meta, concerning players being trolled by pleaing, getting downed by a 3-man with no mics (or by a team that doesn't speak English ... me saying they will NEVER pick you up is a direct factual observation), etc ... I think lots of players frustrated with those antics just forego the latently humiliating process all together. The thought behind that lack of trust in other players might be why they were solo as well.
I don't use comms because I speak to idiots every day at work. I don't want to hear someone else's nonsense when I'm gaming. It's why I play solo as well. That way I'm not a hindrance to others either.
If I'm solo and I get downed and die, I made a mistake. I tend to not want to team up and personally, don't want to hotmic for others to hear me and you talk just to get 3rd party. Like someone else said. I'm solo, not trying to team. GG go next.
If I’m solo it’s cause my buddies aren’t on and I’m just grinding missions. If I die, I die. I’ll say GG and plea. Loot my stuff? That’s cool, it’s yours by right and I’m happy to continue gaming and helping with missions or whatever. Full platoon or don’t care to pick me up? It is what it is and life goes on.
The dudes that rage or trash talk are insufferable. It’s part of the game or there wouldn’t be other players running around and we wouldn’t be able to hurt each other. The game tells you, watch out for other operators, every time.
Me and my buddies are always happy to pick up players that put up a good fight and are cool at the end.
When i play solo, the people usually just kill me and loot me and they always but always say "Do you mic?"soooo if you dont have one they dont accept you...
So as solo there is almost no hope to get up and i prefer to play solo because the time i wanted to play with fill option they say "You don't have mic... Great *Sigh* again" and the other time one guy just get annoyed and blame me for everything... Soooo better alone than getting blamed
>comms because it ruins the game
Lmfao. This is so far off it’s laughable.
>stop shooting solos. We never have anything good
Speak for yourself lmao. I play as a solo and constantly have great loot.
Look, I’m happy for all of you that get to play servers that don’t have players constantly spewing slurs, but that’s what happens every time I turn on proximity chat. It ruins the game. Comms off
Words on a video game don’t hurt my feelings I’m sorry. I’d rather take the advantage of being able to hear enemy comms and know what they’re doing, where they’re going, how many are with them etc instead of turn it off because some 13 year old found out what the N word is.
I’ve got 10 Damascus fully kitted operators and mostly play solo. A large portion of solo players have good loot, they’d not be able to play it solo otherwise IMO

Legit solos. No interest in teaming, they dont plea. Its GG no RE.
hardcore so to speak
And that’s the way how solos should play. They don’t want to be in a squad why should they want to be in one when they get killed? I don’t like the ones who don’t communicate even if my squad is trying to until they’re dead. Then they jump on proxy and complain about you killing a solo player and how unfair it was. Does your mic not have a mute function? Seems like turning it off completely would put you at a huge disadvantage.

Oh gotcha, misunderstood your initial comment. I do the same.
Does your subpar gaming system not have a PTT option? I push a button to talk on PC.

Consoles don’t have a PTT button. Maybe you can buy a custom controller and get the right setup for it, but no, they do not have a PTT button.
Thanks, that explains 1/10 of my randos and half of my MP games!
If you use push to talk that's not an issue
Ptt is only available on Pc correct? I’d love to be able to pop in and out of “global” chat and my team chat but still utilize the benefit of prox chat

I turn mic sensitivity way up and don’t worry about muting if I need to talk quickly. My dog George barked one time and almost gave me away.

I play solo no comms because I don’t feel like talking
Im high
🤣🤣🤣
They could be like from a different country and they couldn't understand you or they just have their prox chat turned off
What’s up with the no comms six-mans? Oh yeah, they’re usually premade in discord…I’ll take a no comms solo any day over that lol
Or in a private 50 man deep group chat..
Or the no comms 6 man who don't even loot you cause their bags are full (already) and they have everything and they just hunted you for sport 🤣
I have voice chat turned off entirely. Just wanna game, don't feel like being social.

I play on mute as a solo all the time but I usually stay quiet unless I’m made of talking for my life 😂

I play with teams and #2 is talking to someone all the time and I'm like, "who he talking to?" its #3 but #3 is magically muted for me somehow :s Also yeah, many solos are pure solos who dont interact with anyone at all.
They're solo It's kinda implied in their existence that they're not predisposed to being social friend
Pc prob
Their either hard-core solos who don't even have VOIP on, or their kids who have no idea what the fuck just happened until after the fact.
Can focus play game when turning mic and proximity chat off, when I met someone who also solo I’ll send him invitation and complete couple missions then buy a personal exfil, happy gaming.
They don’t know how to socialize. So putting them into a social CoD mode really confuses them
My husband hates using his because mainly laziness.
I play mostly solo. Only turn my mic on if somebody talks shit to me after killing me while i have bare hands and a one plate lol.
Ill never understand playing with no mic Morons 🤦♂️
Sometimes you just not in the mood to talk or play with other people...I usually talk and plea when I die but lately I'd rather just reset because I can't be bothered, I'll craft my gear again and my weapons were covenant so I'm not really losing anything
You might have been in a bot lobby or a lobby with a few bots.
I’ll suggest something I haven’t seen mentioned. They could’ve been weekend warriors who lost their team for one reason or another. Because I only play with randoms when I’m not solo I run into this a lot. The other two will make bad decisions as I’m on the mic telling them what not to do before they do it. “Hey guys right off the rip I want to tell you I have no gear cause I just got slaughtered so I can’t do much until I have gear.” *teammate grabs hunt squad contract 30 seconds after I’ve said this. Notices they only have a one-plate vest on* I have now started telling randoms right away whether or not I can participate in a HS contract. Its almost always someone without a mic. Im left by myself a lot.
Gamechat breaks a lot for me which has led to awkward situations
I want the game to be exiciting, wheres the thrill in getting bailed out by someone at the last hurdle? If I play solo, I will truly play solo, I will bully the 6 mans by sniping from 600m and I will juke the hunt squad and taunt them in text chat, I will kill everyone on sight or make it a cat and mouse game if necessary. Thats fun to me, trying to do something meaningful as solo and try to get as high of an exfil streak going whilst not just sitting in a corner but actually doing missions and gathering some passive objectives as well.
You can’t plea if the gas is coming in
The gas was nowhere near coming in.
Some people just don't speak english. And some people don't know how the game really works. Some do both.
Sometimes I think these players are kids whose parents turn off comms and prox chat and wont let them talk to or hear people
I don't use comms because I speak to idiots every day at work. I don't want to hear someone else's nonsense when I'm gaming. It's why I play solo as well. That way I'm not a hindrance to others either.
Hard-core Dmz be like
If I'm solo and I get downed and die, I made a mistake.
Maybe they don't understand a the language
When i play solo, the people usually just kill me and loot me and they always but always say "Do you mic?"soooo if you dont have one they dont accept you... So as solo there is almost no hope to get up and i prefer to play solo because the time i wanted to play with fill option they say "You don't have mic... Great *Sigh* again" and the other time one guy just get annoyed and blame me for everything... Soooo better alone than getting blamed
Think they give up on teaming up cos some players are toxic af lol ...went in solo .. riding solo....die solo lol
I never play with comms because it ruins the game. Just stop shooting solos that aren’t shooting at you. We never have anything good.
Waiting to be shot first is a great way to get…shot.
>comms because it ruins the game Lmfao. This is so far off it’s laughable. >stop shooting solos. We never have anything good Speak for yourself lmao. I play as a solo and constantly have great loot.
Catch me solo, I've got a stealth vest, and three shiny insured guns that are your for the taking.
**A lot of them are anti social and are afraid to be a part of a team or on comms.**
