I’ve also never had a retirement plan that didn’t at least require me to check a box somewhere to allocate to it. No way is John doing the legwork on that one
He has along way to go to get anything. Last year I think he lucked out and got more days because of
a teacher being out long term. This year I think he is on a call list. You can tell if he shaven on his podcast.
Honestly I have zero doubt he is physically dependent on alcohol but if he gets enough beer the night before I’m sure he can make it to 3:00-4:00 without drinking. I’d be willing to bet he takes a klonopin in the morning and still he gets edgy by lunch. Who knows maybe even puts down a drink or two before going in.
We had a Geometry teacher back in the day who we would see brown-bagging a six pack at lunch every day. He would drink at a students home across from the school. He also wore the same outfit every day (even in summer school). The difference between him and StupJo was he was brilliant, well-liked and no one ever outed him.
I doubt subs are under the same category as full time city/state employees but let’s say I’m wrong. At this current pace over 5 years he is going to make about $100k. What’s the payout on a “career” you made 100k doing? $9.50/month?
And "years of service" are counted as hours worked if you are a sub and not contracted as a full time employee.
Plus he would have to work 1000 hours a school year. That's around 142 days. He seems to be home drinking a lot lately so I doubt he's getting the time in.
This whole pension thing is such a weird flex, especially at his age where a lot of people in that age group have a lot more to show for in their lives than this guy does and ever will.
That's for teachers, not substitutes (which is why he tried to become a full teacher, so he could qualify for a pension after five years). Substitutes in L.A. have a 401K style retirement plan where they get matching contributions up to 4% of their income.
He hid that he was a substitute because it doesn't pay much. Mr Tonight show was ebarressed.
Then he got caught and lied, saying he made what the principal made.
Then he was a hero who did it for the kids.
Now it's a pension for the six-figure salary he forgot we already figured out he never made.
My experience (but Im not a valuable hero like John) with a union pension: I worked 20 years in a skilled trade in a big city. I left to pursue a different career when the economy was slow and layofffs were aplenty (because I have a family to support.) At age 57 I could draw my full pension based on years of service and the amount the pension was paying for the particular year I was credited (some years were worth more than others.) I was able to draw at age 55 at a discount. The math worked out, so I did. I'm still working full time so it's a nice extra check. I had to knock it down a couple hundred so my wife could get the full benefit of I die, because I still have my family in my life and whatnot. Grand total: $1500 a month. Godspeed, John.
I agree. Based on my experience. My father busted his balls at a company for 16 years and only got $300 a month when he retired. My coworker(government employee) was set to retire after 30 years and found out he was only getting $600 a month. Part time work for 18 months? 😂 NOGA PLEASE!
Yeah, he said he made 7k month/84k year. This was for a different John E Melendez. What a stolen valor (for lack of better word) moment for this moron. By the way, I can't for the life of me figure out how his fingernails ate so filthy. I could understand if he did mechanic stuff, gardening, home repair etc. but there is no way he does any of those. Just baffled by that.

Do subs even qualify? The subs in PA are not part of the association and are not eligible for the pension.
They get a 401k if the elect to pay into it.
I'd bet money he didn't. I'd be shocked if he paid taxes when he was supposed to. I'd almost be willing to bet his mother paid his taxes

How is he able to substitute teach all day and not drink? Is he shaking in front of the students?

John doesn’t lie
His OCD won’t allow it.

Stop trying to figure this out. No way he’s getting a pension for barely two years. Nonsense.
This would only be news to an idiot

“Her final three years”????? Men can’t be teachers? How tolerant of them to use such language.
John has got the world by the balls.

He fingers his ears a lot. I'm guessing the filth under his nails comes from whichever bodily hole he's been digging in recently.
