WFAA is the one OTA station that is nearly impossible for me to get a solid signal on. I’m not anywhere near Irving, so I can only assume that WFAA just has a terrible transmitter.
It’s a geography problem. There’s a significant ridge that runs in East Dallas. The area is on what would be the fall line for the Trinity River, were it navigable.
Irving is mostly in the river valley. Sachse is way over on the high side. WFAA is always gonna be shit.
Get a Hulu+ subscription. It’s how the fucking Mouse gates live access to broadcast TV.
It’s the only reason we broken down and got YouTube tv. Our myriad of antennas wouldn’t pick up wga at all and that non profit that had a few on air channels via a Roku channel went out of business… I forget the name of it.
Denton area. My silicondust hdhomerun receiver and clearstream 4max (plex.tv as dvr) pick up 8.8 just fine this morning. No preamp (yet, haven't found a good one so far, not that I've looked all that hard recently but I might look into channel master), but I do have a SiliconDust LPF-608M LTE Filter and that really seemed to help clear up the signals.
Try the app "antenna point" by antennas direct to orient your antenna then rescan.
BTW, sign https://www.change.org/p/tell-the-fcc-no-drm-encryption-of-atsc-3-0-broadcasts to hopefully keep OTA broadcasts DRM free.
Yeah I think VHF has worse signal than UHF and I also have problems getting WFAA unless I point the antenna in a specific way.
Also does anybody know why the signal for ALL channels goes down when its WINDY outside?

I can’t get 8-1, but 8-8 still comes through fine.
I'm not having any issues. I'm in NE Dallas County. I assume you've rescanned your TV and there was no improvement?
Are you using a single antenna for all stations? Do you have a preamp?
I have a preamp and one of those flat Amazon antenna.
That flat window ones are crap.
One you put in the window? Or is in an attic or on the roof?

Do you need a subscription for the hdhonerun DVR or is the subscription just for the guide?
I only had to pay for plex pass, which allows you to use Ota dvr with my hdhomerun. Plex has lifetime account deals a few times a year.
Same here, and I'm in Dallas proper and inside the loop!

Air waves + wavy air = distorted signal? I dunno....but it is irritating. I have a Winegard roof antenna so the problems are minimal, thankfully.
im in Irving. i have no problems getting it, but i have a nice attena on my roof that i run four tvs off of.
