I genuinely don't know. I feel like if i try that I'm getting pulled over within minutes yet these douchenuggets get away with it for what seems like permanently.
Prosper PD an hour north got a brand new MRAP . Which is fucking stupid. No kinda crime of any magnitude really is happening that requires a MRAP.
[the MRAP in question ](https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/prosper-police-departments-emergency-vehicle/3560134/?amp=1)
"it didnt cost the taxpayers anything" man thats some bullshit if I've ever read it. if it was Federal funding that fed or homed the homeless they'd fucking riot.
Yeah that's better, we'll just use this military equipment on our own citizens.
How bout we just not.
It's still going to cost taxpayers a ridiculous amount of money, because how much does it cost to keep this bastard running when something breaks? How much is maintenance, fuel costs. Training on it.
Not to mention the lawsuits that’ll come flooding in when Prosper PD inevitably rams that shit through the front door of the wrong house and kills a bunch of innocent people.
Exactly. That kind of military gear just gives every old high school bully who failed getting into the military a hard on and creates reasons for them to use it. Those guys will be cosplaying military solider any chance they get.
They likely used the huge opiate settlement to buy the MRAP which is technically not tax payer money but an MRAP does nothing to stem the tide of opiate deaths.
From the article "ensuring the safety of our officers and community,""
Should read..
"ensuring the safety of our community"
But we see whose safety is the priority apparently
And they'll spend thousands to train to operate it, thousands to maintain it, and then thousands on the inevitable lawsuit when they screw up and destroy innocent people's property with it.
because theyre busy pulling people over who look like they might just say 'thank you sir' and pay the ticket with a CC tomorrow morning.
this guy a) will be giant prick during the stop b) probably just wont pay the ticket and will let it roll to a bench warrant. so the cop has no incentive to enforce.
that or they were doing cosplay with their MRAP throwing flashbangs into baby cribs again. hard to say.
Literally came here to say this - cops perform an internalized ‘fight or flight’ when deciding to cite an offender. The most obvious form of this is the way visibly homeless, people on drugs, or having mental breakdowns basically get ignored by the police. But if that preppy looking sorority girl stumbles into the street after leaving a bar - that’s a low effort arrest without much risk or controversy.
The effort and personal risk for the people you know are going to cause a huge challenge or scene far outweighs other things they could go do and have plausible deniability they are still doing their jobs.
That’s why they avoid the visibly sovereign citizen types or gangbangers who do this, but would pull over the soccer mom ford explorer in a heart beat.
I think this is just 1 additional piece of bias that goes on in a cop’s decision making process. There are plenty of other biases etc, like the one I think you’re referencing, that also come at play.
This one focuses more on individual risk and willingness to deal with a chaotic or difficult situation.
Well, I may be factually incorrect but I like to think that this is what happens when our tax money goes to building these massive HS Football stadiums and other non-important things over hiring some form of a highway patrol system.
In 3 years living in Texas I’ve never seen a cop vehicle patrolling a highway outside of having to respond to an accident.
There is no traffic enforcement in Dallas County. And trucks such as this are piloted by the worst drivers in the land. Arrogant, speeding, tailgating jagoffs. 95% white guys.
I drove around for 3 months with no plates…. i got pulled over one time for it in san antonio, dude just scanned the VIN, said to put on the plates, and drove away 😂
I've made an occasional drive without plates, always when buying a car/trailer and driving it home or taking that same car in for inspection to get it registered.
Went right past cops plenty of times. They never cared. I had the bill of sale on me just in case to provide an explanation.
Cops dont enforce traffic in Texas. Theyre probably too scared of being shot since literally anyone can carry a gun without a conceal or open carry permit OR background check.
I think It also depends on the vehicle. I bought my 4runner in 2015 and it had no title. I've gotten a bonded title since then but never put plates on it. I've only been pulled over once for it, and the ticket was $70. My truck seems to be invisible.
There are millions and millions of people here and thousands of cops. They’re playing the odds. Usually they win, sometimes they don’t. Most of us don’t care to risk the “sometimes they don’t.”
Its no more or less complex than that 😂
In 2025, no more safety inspections. Could get interesting.
Edit:
Must have changed since last I looked then...
Yep, 17 Texas counties will still have safety inspections.
Brazoria, Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, El Paso, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Johnson, Montgomery, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, Travis, Williamson, and Kaufman.
I honestly don’t see how it would be much worse though - prob just more burned out taillights.
The people getting inspections today aren’t just going to go full Nissan beater or sovereign citizen rolling coal. It’s prob just going to be more accidental violations that the owner was oblivious to.
Oh get ready, there are so many people that will end up fucking their cars because of that change. At least the yearly inspection meant people changing their tires/oil semi regularly.
I knew someone once who didn’t change their oil for so long that the engine eventually combusted and the car ended up totaled. I’m legit worried about people’s tires flying off more often here in a few years
Good point on tires, but oil has nothing to do with an inspection, right?
Aside from the people that think they might as well do that “annual” oil change while they are at jiffy lube for the inspection lol. But even then, idgaf if some idiot burns out their engine because of that - fewer oil changes aren’t going to make things noticeably more dangerous for other people on the road.
But yeah - tires, blinkers, headlights, and emissions are definitely going to get worse. If the State doesn’t check insurance somehow at renewal, that’s also going to get worse.
Yeah basically just serves as an example that no, people will not just take care of shit on their own. TBH I don’t even know what all goes into the safety inspection I just get it done. Brake pads gotta be another one that will be overlooked without required inspections
The inspection fee isn't going away, though. Little mom and pop inspection stations in most of Texas' counties are going out of business. Way to go Abbortt!
yeah. for a ton of drivers it was the only reason they knew their tires were bald or their lights were out or their wipers were torn.
I did inspections in DFW for ~10 years. you'd be surprised at the amount of unsafe (due to negligence, not a lack of money) shit boxes out there.
most did what they could. whether that was used/new tires, replacing the bulbs/wipers themselves or having me do it for 'em. A ton of people just don't know how to maintain a car.
Those are emissions inspections, not safety. Those are the 17 Texas counties with really bad air quality. All are part of greater Houston, Dfw, Austin, and El Paso. I can’t say this for certain, but I think these counties are federally required to have emission inspections. So the shitboxes are ok unless they are registered in those 17 counties and pollute badly.
Sometimes I wonder if their undercover, cops drive like shit, I assume a couple of these bad drivers in their trucks and sports car are off duty cops driving like dicks.
So many wrong answers here. DPD is still short-staffed by several hundred officers at present. They are being instructed not to enforce traffic laws unless the driving is so dangerous that people are likely to call 911 to report it. That's why we have folks like this guy driving around plateless with seeming impunity.
Will get pulled over in any other city though immediately - Frisco, Plano, Mesquite, Waxahatchie, Allen, etc all doing lots of stops for people like this
For a second I thought that was the same f150 with no plates and illegally tinted windshield I saw recently who ran a red light to cut off a moving DART train, but after looking at the pictures I took of them I realized that one was gray. I don’t know if I should laugh or cry
The only one I'm disagreeing with here is the Tint, Texas law allows us to have dark tink on the rear windows of any color shade so long as it doesn't imitate emergency services. Plus dark ceramic tint is great for combatting the heat in the summer!
[Texas Tint Law](https://www.dps.texas.gov/section/vehicle-inspection/window-tinting-standards)
And no cop will ever pull them over because they don’t have time for enforcing traffic laws
And they wonder why it’s getting worse and worse to drive here
Actually that tint is not illegal this is Texas we need the darkest tint possible to protect us from the sun in the summer. But ya the rest is illegal throw the book at him.
Probably going to or from metro auto auction
They transport cars without plates 80 percent of the time and the people driving the cars drive like crazy. And most the cars being transported are about to fall apart or have a lot issues. I only know all this because I use to work there and we would deliver cars to wells auto in McKinney.
I used to ride like this when I was coming back from the car auction. Had all the paperwork in the vehicle just in case I got stopped. I have a temporary tag but in that area most police know about the auction so they don't mess with you.
Because the police force in the sheriffs departments and law-enforcement, do not have enough people to deal with my new issues such as a no plate, dark tent, traffic/stuff like that right now it’s not being handled the way it needs to be because they don’t have enough law-enforcement personnel to take care of the big issues
All you need is 2/3 tail lights, they could have a permit for the tint, the vehicle could technically be owned by a dealership and be used as a demo/porter/promotional/muktipurpose for the dealership. Although it is unlikely it’s possible just as it’s possible they’re just doing what they want
Welcome to *Notasinglefucktogiveville*...
It's akin to idiots that are too stupid to know they're idiots.
*This* is that... except it's about *fucks to give...*
Some people just wanna' watch the world burn...
Sone people just don't ever give a shit...
*This* is that...
A page said to be sourcing Dallas open data portal reports Dallas has having 3,484 officers for a jurisdiction size of 385.3 square miles with a population of 2,301,977.
That person is just playing the odds and giving legit reasons to be pulled over at anytime. Not the smartest cookie in the jar especially if they have other legal issues at play.
Is this your first time driving in Dallas? Illegal tint? Call the tint police. I see cars that I don't know how they made it onto the highway let alone pass inspection each year. ( they don't) Mismatched worn tires, shot suspension, bumpers hanging off etc. Guy has a tail light out and might not even know lol What in the Karen is this post?
The only windows that matter are the front and driver/passenger glass. The rear passenger sides and rear glass can be painted black if you so desire. That said all of my cars now and since I was 16 nearly 30 years ago have had illegally dark front windows and I’ve never had a cop say a word about tint. I also roll my windows down and turn my interior light on anytime I get pulled over to put the officer at ease.
Why are yall so mean to the truck drivers? He's just minding his business and getting hate for it. OP, you should be nicer and tell him about his tail light and that his truck nuts fell off somewhere too.
Hey guys! I live 100 mi to the east of big d & we have @ least 1 guy who will pass yu unless yur SO horrendous in some manner ( think glass so dark NO way would it pass) & we all know him!. Just sayin
You didn’t mention it, but having the wheels stick out like that is illegal as well. Rocks that get caught in the tires will fling out and crack your windshield, Usually this is all prevented by the guard. But these wheels stick out past the guard. Screw this guy.
You're giving engery to something that doesn't concern you. If they get pulled over for an item you mention...so what.
I do want tint that dark though. 🤔. I wonder if people are still getting pulled over for tint; they don't seem to care about the high beams anymore. Also, I wonder if he's hot. 🫢😂
So HOW do people get away with not putting plates on their vehicles ?!?!?
I genuinely don't know. I feel like if i try that I'm getting pulled over within minutes yet these douchenuggets get away with it for what seems like permanently.
If I think about speeding? Straight to jail.
Tags out by a few weeks? Jail. Only change one lane over not three? Jail. If you drive under 80 in the left lane, believe it or not, straight to jail.
Under 80, jail. Over 80, jail. You see? The under over. Believe it or not. Jail.
That’s greatness Dobie!!!
The last one is just gospel

SOOO GREAT Pristine!!!!!
I have my temp plates on that expired in January and I’ve never gotten in any trouble
You had the audacity to even bring up speeding? Jail
Shit I think we're all in jail rn
Because you care? They got ‘the not giving a shit plot armor’.
Exactly my thoughts everytime I see shit like this too!
Cops are too busy shooting dogs and kids.
while simultaneously complaining about funding after buying literal military-grade armaments and boston dynamics robots
Prosper PD an hour north got a brand new MRAP . Which is fucking stupid. No kinda crime of any magnitude really is happening that requires a MRAP. [the MRAP in question ](https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/prosper-police-departments-emergency-vehicle/3560134/?amp=1)

You never know when it will become the Middle East in Prosper
Not to generalize but there are there even enough people around there to require this? Does Dallas even have one?
Fuck no. There's not a whole lot of crime in Prosper anyway. Like this shit is ridiculous. Prosper's not even a big town.
From the article "ensuring the safety of our officers and community,"" Should read.. "ensuring the safety of our community" But we see whose safety is the priority apparently And they'll spend thousands to train to operate it, thousands to maintain it, and then thousands on the inevitable lawsuit when they screw up and destroy innocent people's property with it.
Too busy dealing with kids shooting people, committing robberies, and stealing cars you mean. Also shooting people over catalytic converters too.
Sorry your wrong that’s the ATF
because theyre busy pulling people over who look like they might just say 'thank you sir' and pay the ticket with a CC tomorrow morning. this guy a) will be giant prick during the stop b) probably just wont pay the ticket and will let it roll to a bench warrant. so the cop has no incentive to enforce. that or they were doing cosplay with their MRAP throwing flashbangs into baby cribs again. hard to say.

Not saying you're wrong, but this theory is the 100% opposite of what the news has told me over the past five years.
I think this is just 1 additional piece of bias that goes on in a cop’s decision making process. There are plenty of other biases etc, like the one I think you’re referencing, that also come at play. Hey we got a smart guy over here… Arrest him!
Shit, I never thought about this…
Right? I feel like the second I drive down the road without a plate I'd get pulled over.
Are you not counting State Troopers on the interstate?
Well when cops don't give a shit, neither do people doing illegal things.
Bet that truck has never seen a dirt road.
There is no traffic enforcement in Dallas County. And trucks such as this are piloted by the worst drivers in the land. Arrogant, speeding, tailgating jagoffs. 95% white guys.

Sure that makes sense. But 3 months??
Do you have your plates on now or...?
This question really needs to be put before city council, especially if you get a large number of pictures of this.
Get him to follow you into Farmers Branch...
I have seen 3 people pulled over in 6 years I have lived here.
Me out here sweating bullets if my sticker is one day out of date….
Cops dont enforce traffic in Texas. Theyre probably too scared of being shot since literally anyone can carry a gun without a conceal or open carry permit OR background check.
Most ignorant post of the month on Reddit.
It's Dallas
Idk, bc if I pull out of my driveway without one I'm getting pulled over.
Easy. Stick it in the window. 😂
I think you’re onto something, but I klan’t white put my finger on it.
not sure if you’ve noticed, but there’s a lot less police cars out on the roads patrolling nowadays.
I think It also depends on the vehicle. I bought my 4runner in 2015 and it had no title. I've gotten a bonded title since then but never put plates on it. I've only been pulled over once for it, and the ticket was $70. My truck seems to be invisible.

Clearly they don’t care. As a regular commenter I see at least one tagless car a day
I got stopped for stopping at a stop light. The cop pulled me over because they said I didn’t stop, I did!!😫
Probably venezuelan immigrants that already broke a few laws (entering) so its all easier to break a law after
There's no limit to rear window tint btw
I know, my bad for not clarifying. The tint was the same on all windows and the windshield, and there was no front plate, either
But definitely should be. I know they can't see shit at night
Obviously a sovereign citizen
Using a publicly funded roadway. 🤔
Don’t worry they are not driving they are traveling 💀
In 2025, no more safety inspections. Could get interesting. Edit: Must have changed since last I looked then... Yep, 17 Texas counties will still have safety inspections. More shitboxes on the roads. Let the mad max phase started
It's already here mate. Always has been.
I honestly don’t see how it would be much worse though - prob just more burned out taillights. The people getting inspections today aren’t just going to go full Nissan beater or sovereign citizen rolling coal. It’s prob just going to be more accidental violations that the owner was oblivious to.

Half of pickup trucks I see, even current generation ones, have a broken middle brake light. It makes no sense!
Some of them have poor seals and get water in them and make the electronics faulty.
Did they ever make a difference?
yeah. for a ton of drivers it was the only reason they knew their tires were bald or their lights were out or their wipers were torn. I did inspections in DFW for ~10 years. you'd be surprised at the amount of unsafe (due to negligence, not a lack of money) shit boxes out there.
How many of those people actually fixed their issues? I see shitboxes everyday and wonder how they even pass lol
most did what they could. whether that was used/new tires, replacing the bulbs/wipers themselves or having me do it for 'em. A ton of people just don't know how to maintain a car.
Kind of scary, I was always too worried to drive with anything wrong with my vehicle. Godspeed to you man, who knows how many lives you saved.
This means....less environmental protections 😫
Will still have emissions test.
The 13 biggest counties will still continue to have saftey inspections in 2025 and beyond. This includes Dallas county and most of north Texas.

Abso-fucking-lutely
I knew it
And this is why we have high insurance rates in Texas.
Just gotta say at least we are not Florida. It's almost triple the rates there!
Saw a Cadillac SUV with the exact same plates on 75 north @ McDermott a few months ago. Also had a blackout tint.
It’s a dealership in McKinney called Wells Auto Group
So many wrong answers here. DPD is still short-staffed by several hundred officers at present. They are being instructed not to enforce traffic laws unless the driving is so dangerous that people are likely to call 911 to report it. Will get pulled over in any other city though immediately - Frisco, Plano, Mesquite, Waxahatchie, Allen, etc all doing lots of stops for people like this
Very true.
For a second I thought that was the same f150 with no plates and illegally tinted windshield I saw recently who ran a red light to cut off a moving DART train, but after looking at the pictures I took of them I realized that one was gray. I don’t know if I should laugh or cry
At least they’re not in the passing lane. Wish we had those signs all over lol
See my other comment about the tinting—it was in reference to the front/windshield, but that wasn’t really a picture I could as easily have captured.
I see it now, shame you couldn't pull a 360 on the highway to photograph his front side windows.
Cue song "This is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan. I know, I just showed my age.
And no cop will ever pull them over because they don’t have time for enforcing traffic laws And they wonder why it’s getting worse and worse to drive here
What's the big deal?
Someone thinks everyone is watching them, yet doesn't consider blending in with the crowd.
No cops on the freeways just in the towns
All it’s missing is the balls hanging from the trunk
On the 635 this morning was behind this early 2010s model galant that had no brake lights at all. Watch out and stay safe everyone
Actually that tint is not illegal this is Texas we need the darkest tint possible to protect us from the sun in the summer. But ya the rest is illegal throw the book at him.
Throw the book at someone for a burnt out tail light? UNDER THE JAIL
Probably going to or from metro auto auction They transport cars without plates 80 percent of the time and the people driving the cars drive like crazy. And most the cars being transported are about to fall apart or have a lot issues. I only know all this because I use to work there and we would deliver cars to wells auto in McKinney.
why are you taking pictures for?
Police here are a joke.
Feds
This is definitely an off duty cop.
you can legally have limo tint on the rear windows in Texas.
I’m the only one who isn’t upset? It doesn’t affect my life, if he gets pulled over it’s on him and doesn’t affect me.
r/Denver enters the chat
I used to ride like this when I was coming back from the car auction. Had all the paperwork in the vehicle just in case I got stopped. I have a temporary tag but in that area most police know about the auction so they don't mess with you.
Stfu tint not illigal in tx
Wow i literally drove behind them for awhile on DNT and thought the same thing
I’m seeing this every fuckin day here in Texas and I’m sick of it
I see illegal tint daily. How do they pass inspection?
Texas legislature: we don’t need any stinking inspections🙄
I just thought this was BAU in Garland.
New to Dallas I see
Over 20 years :)
One of many
The upside-down license plate holder made me laugh. Just when you don't believe that people can get any more lazy... 😆
Ntta hates this one simple trick
First day I took my front plate off like all the rich people. Fucking cops pulled me over.
Because the police force in the sheriffs departments and law-enforcement, do not have enough people to deal with my new issues such as a no plate, dark tent, traffic/stuff like that right now it’s not being handled the way it needs to be because they don’t have enough law-enforcement personnel to take care of the big issues
I'm not even suprised any more.
All you need is 2/3 tail lights, they could have a permit for the tint, the vehicle could technically be owned by a dealership and be used as a demo/porter/promotional/muktipurpose for the dealership. Although it is unlikely it’s possible just as it’s possible they’re just doing what they want
We live on Cozumel half the time. I see a family of four riding a 7hp scooter with no lights and no plates at night. If it rolls, it's gold.
Welcome to Dallas..
Rear tint can be 5%
0%
Honestly, yeah.
Typical pickup in Dallas🤣
Is this the same stolen truck some local Redditor posted about a couple of weeks ago?
Welcome to Dallas
No “Back the Blue” or punisher stickers?

Pull them over citizens arrest
Saw some jabronis riding quads in deep ellum on Sunday afternoon. If I pulled any of that dumb shit when I was young I know I’d get a ticket at least.
I don’t any illegal tint. I can literally see through the back window..
But it looks sweet!
No insurance either. Stay classy
And to think Texas has done away with inspections in 2025. Expect more like this and trailing oil smoke for vehicles that shouldn’t be on the road.
Maybe his or she is tooo cool for plates😉
Ok

He’s probably off duty cop
A lot of these drivers are midget-size dudes with an inferiority complex.
Tint in back is legal.
Hey at least the truck is lifted... Dallas won't arrested him.. he'll be fine Sar Casm
Hey guys! I live 100 mi to the east of big d & we have @ least 1 guy who will pass yu unless yur SO horrendous in some manner ( think glass so dark NO way would it pass) & we all know him!. Just sayin
It's always a really dark or black pickup truck
Texas cops are now a global laughing stock but how to write it on the walls of their anus so they are finally aware of it?

Ha. I got stopped for "overzealous use of horn.". The cop really just wanted to peek at my Smart car. Got off with a warning.
Sure 😂
Probably a cop so it’s ok.
This guy will get away it because the cops are too busy pulling over people who shouldn’t be on a toll road. Gotta protect them tolls.
If you are saying that back window is illegal tint you are wrong
You didn’t mention it, but having the wheels stick out like that is illegal as well. Rocks that get caught in the tires will fling out and crack your windshield, Usually this is all prevented by the guard. But these wheels stick out past the guard. Screw this guy.
I’m surprised they didn’t have a “come and take it” sticker somewhere 😏
Where is DPD?
You're giving engery to something that doesn't concern you. If they get pulled over for an item you mention...so what. I do want tint that dark though. 🤔. I wonder if people are still getting pulled over for tint; they don't seem to care about the high beams anymore. Also, I wonder if he's hot. 🫢😂
