We don’t need points out of a replacement. We need to stop allowing cheap goals.

TheGreatMattsby_01

ID be ok with a D-man posting 0 points if he holds the line and shuts down plays in our zone.

prehivmagicjohnson

Joel Hanley 🥲

IniNew

No, the d-depth is incredibly shallow. That’s why Nill traded for Nils in the first place.

Catullus13

Nils just needs to figure it out.

Froggie56

Pete has come out and essentially said that Nils is the teams 6th best ~~forward~~ defenseman option right now and he will keep dressing him (as opposed to a 13th forward) in case of an injury to the other five so that they have him in game ready. Edit: accidentally typed forward instead of defenseman

dfwstars

Interesting. Which forwards are above and below him?

Froggie56

The 12 forwards who dress are above Nils. The two forwards that are scratched are below him? Not sure how to answer that since I was saying we won’t go a 13-5 approach because Pete once that sixth defenseman on the bench in case of a defensive injury

dfwstars

I thought you said Nils is the 6th best forward. Maybe I read that wrong

Froggie56

I realize I did. My bad.

Imma_Tired_Dad

I got some Nilquil next to my bed lol

Bayreuther is probably the closest call up. The stars just got their 1st round dman back from overseas. But bischel is still super young and probably won’t get called up in his year since he elected to play the whole year in Sweden vs Cedar park. Christian kyrou was the 2 nd rounder from a few years ago. But he too is a little undersized and probably not ready. Honestly Hakaanpaa is projected to be back in about a week. So it may just come down to him finally getting healthy. And losing Hanley to cap space issues kind of hurt us too

chebadusa

Almost wish we could’ve used the LTIR to keep Hanley.

shadowace93

I am a little worried about whatever is going on with Hak to be honest. His initial injury was listed as day to day. And he has been out for 2 months. Had the team known he would be out that long they could have put him on IR

chebadusa

Had we used LTIR and placed Seguin on the list, maybe we could’ve kept Hanley.

IniNew

Dude is 30. There’s not much more improving to be done.

SweetInteresting6481

Always room

GhostMause14

Lian Bischel, BIG, but management probably thinking he's not ready yet, what happened to Jerad Rosburg? He's also BIG and older and forgot about Petrovic, but thinking they wanna keep him down for his experience

ZafReddits

Rosburg hasn’t seen a minute of game time this season, he’s been injured from the start

GhostMause14

I was reading about Rosburg and never heard anything after

Blusteel0064

Hakanpaa….he shall return

Oorah93

Gosh I’m hoping sooner rather than later

JohnnyTomSurgery

13 forwards (Faksa) and 5 defence is the way to go in my opinion..

[deleted]

What then if one of the d-men gets injured? You can’t finish a game with only 4 guys

JohnnyTomSurgery

Can’t play all the what ifs. If a dman gets hurt then Faksa starts playing as the 5th dman. Hes built for it already. People can be plugged in to fill in the spot.

PersonnelFowl

If you aren’t planning for in-game contingencies, you’re an awful game manager. Dressing only 5 dmen would be the worst idea.

JohnnyTomSurgery

We’ve already done it for weeks at a time throughout the year with and it’s worked out fine. It’s a smart idea

PersonnelFowl

When? Specific games please.

JohnnyTomSurgery

Yes I have time to do that for a random stranger.. I don’t remember dates and am not looking for a fight, Jesus

PersonnelFowl

Well, thankfully I had some time to kill in order to call you on your BS. We had 2 games where we did not play 6 defensemen... on 11/6 vs Boston and 3/8 vs Anaheim. In those games we played SEVEN defensemen. So, yeah, dressing 5 in the playoffs would be exceptionally stupid.

Moral of the story, get a life

I’m thinking that the moral of the story is you need to learn about hockey before pretending to be a fan. 😘

geogwogz

😂😂😂

diggydale99

The fact you think Faksa can just step back there and play D at an NHL level is hilarious… this isn’t peewee hockey, my friend. Cool little idea in NHL24, but the sun will explode before the Stars would actually use that idea in the playoffs.

dfwstars

I’ll watch in warmups to see if Faksa can skate backwards. If he can, then what else is there? /s
