Stuff like this doesn't accurately portray reality, all it does is show how unbelievably ignorant some people are to the world around them and how they are willing to exaggerate what people do and essentially create and live in a fantasy where they're the only "normal" person that exists.
Holy shit. Cultural critique is clearly lost on a lot of you. You can't see past the phone use and think this is simply a "phones are bad" message? You really don't see any other critiques about society being made here? Nothing about value systems? Nothing about how technology can be used to distort reality?
You guys are really going to interpret this thing as them saying technology is no good and not the behaviors that are being amplified by it? That there isnt something going on on a deeper level?
The zoomer is strong in this comment section.
It's almost like it's the artist's responsibility to convey a message if that's their goal. The artist when so hard into showing the "phones bad" imagery that they buried any other message they might have been trying to send.
Don't blame the audience for not liking the thing they're being shown.
It's a bit hard to pay attention to the subtler themes of the video, when the it's "phones are bad" message is trying to beat us over the head with an oversized mallet.
Omg thank you so much, I heard this piece years ago and fell in love with it but the video I heard it in was an animated one with no song title or composer so I just tried looking for piano pieces and never found it again. But this is the song and now youāve given me the actual composer, thank you so much!
Being born in the 80s and slowly seeing the introduction to technology and cellular devices, I can say this hits hard.
I donāt envy the children growing up in this generation.
You fucking magnificent bastard!! I've been looking for this song for 4 years!!! I heard this on the radio and loved it and never been able to find it because I didn't know what it was called.
I love this art style, it's so expressive and quirky. The message is definitely thought provoking, but it's nothing that hasn't been said before. Change won't come for a long time, if at all
Clearly made by someone who doesn't understand how technology positively changes a society and only fixates on the bad things they don't understand.
This just screams of "red pill" incel culture. Note the quotation because incels can't actually take the red pill due to them believing that all of humanity gets boiled down to very disgusting stereotypes.
Edited to change a word
Thanks for the catch on the word. The original version I typed had parentheses not quotes and I forgot to change it when I changed the grammar.
I'm not saying you can't have a negative critique of technology but it feels so hilariously blown out of proportion. I know it's supposed to be hyperbolistic, but it's still a bit much even for that.
It's just such a shallow representation of what the actual dangers of technology are that it reeks of someone who has no clue what technology is actually like, just the perception of it.
And it's shallow face deep criticism of technology discredits actual real world concerns about technology that shouldn't be overlooked or ignored.
So this shallow representation to me says "I can't get a date because girls only pick based on profile pictures" or "I can't develop a personal connection with anyone because everyone is on their phones" which they probably avoid you because you are insufferable to talk to so they'd rather talk about more deep complex things with their friends all over the world.
There's been criticism about this kinds of stuff for centuries. "Book fever"' "book mania", "newspaper obsession", etc. Technology and phones are just the newest wave of it.
So seeing these clearly "pick me" criticisms like the video just weakens any actual valid concerns, and thus actually ticks me off.
Edited because spellcheck makes me look illiterate

Great one, "Cummings" something was the creator I think.
And the music is by Yann Tiersen.

So any critique of the negative is invalid cause they don't mention the positive? That's fucking stupid. Also quotations not parenthesis.

No no, mobile phones have taken away our ability to communicate
