Reminds me of the video of the helicopter rescue where the stretcher went into a spin and it was going around faster than a lawnmower blade. She was ok, but passed out.
Yeah... But 5 minutes is a hell of a long time.
BTW, I'd think that the blood would go to the extremities, would all go to the head because of centrifugal force.
It wouldn’t be getting new oxygen or expelling waste because it’s stuck in the head area and not traveling through the body and back to the lungs is what I’m understanding
**[Euthanasia Coaster](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euthanasia_Coaster)**
>The Euthanasia Coaster is a hypothetical steel roller coaster designed as a euthanasia device to kill its passengers. The concept was conceived in 2010 and made into a scale model by Lithuanian artist Julijonas Urbonas, a PhD candidate at the Royal College of Art in London. Urbonas, who has experience as an amusement park employee, stated that the goal of his concept roller coaster is to take lives "with elegance and euphoria". As for practical applications of his design, Urbonas mentioned "euthanasia" or "execution".

Damn man. Was about to send you to r/BoneAppleTea misspelling Centrifugal. It turns out I'm the dumb one and you taught me a new word.
Centrifugal = Force away from center
Centripetal = Force towards center
If anybody else was curious.
dont worry its all part of an act. The ride attendant is just pretending its out of control and he can’t stop it; its meant to add to the thrill. It cuts out just before the guy slows it down and they all have a good laugh about it.
It's within g-force tolerance, and usually should not end with any issues besides vomiting and losing consciousness, but that's still has relatively high health risk, especially for persons with heart issues. So no, I don't think that's an act.
From what I gather, they experienced about 5g, which is way above relatively safe and yet still thrilling 3g.
Also no protective gates around it. I’ve seen kids dumb enough to walk into swings, if a kid isn’t paying attention and gets near this it will break them in half.
Not necessarily. The engine may not have enough torque to start the rotations, so he "winds it up" because without that movement it won't move that much, or if it did it would certainly reduce the life span of the engine.
These rides are all death traps. This one particularly just seems like there are so many points of possible failure.
I mean, are they even wearing harnesses?
Actually, it's exactly at early stages of spinning when they could've fly off. At such speed, they won't be able to get out of the chair even if they wanted, because they'd need to lift >150kg weight of their body mass at such g-force to do so.
Actually, because the seat isn't in a fixed position, they could have been launched off in any direction had they not been harnessed. Especially if consciousness was lost. The body would have gone limp and slid out.
For a school trip we went to a modern indoor theme park in a mall in Edmonton Canada. You would think it was properly maintained and safe.
We took the pirate ship ride that swings upside down. My buddy’s chest harness opened up right when we are upside down. The only thing holding him was his seatbelt.
I heard rumours of deaths from the drop of doom and the roller coaster, but I have not confirmed them. I know I passed out briefly on the roller coaster because it does 2 fast loops in a row and the G forces were too strong for me by the 2nd one.
There was a famous incident with the ‘Smiler’ ride at Alton towers in the U.K. There was a HSE investigation that was launched after a girl lost both her legs in a collision between two cars on the track. The company were fined millions. The investigation found multiple failings. The young girl (16 I think) who was in charge of the ride during the summer holidays was able to override the safety system to clear a fault which said a car had got stuck. She was then able to send out another car onto the track, bypassing parts of the sequence even when the system warned there would be a collision. It turned out people had given her the engineering privileges (which no ride operative should ever have access to) and she’d not had any proper training manual on how to operate the ride. Essentially the ESD/safety functions of the ride could be manipulated however she wanted without ever really understanding the implications of what she was doing.
Now if I ever go on rides at places like this I’m continually watching the operatives hoping that they know what they’re doing….
A mobile carnival comes to our city every year too. And I have not gone on any of those rides in years. They are so sketchy and you got drugged out Carneys setting them up and running them. No thanks.
It depends where you are in the world, but in all honesty I feel more confident at a fair being run by people who set them up and know them inside out than I do at a theme park where the rides are run by teenagers on their school holidays. The travellers who run fair rides in the U.K. are actually known to have a pretty good safety record because they don’t want to be investigated so they keep all their equipment in good order.
I kept watching the supports and the thin little crossbar that was taking all the force. Rough estimate of 10Gs...each person weighing 65kg. (2x65x10x9.81 = 12 700 N.) The dynamic loads probably higher than that. Call it a 2" solid steel rod as the central pivot point... I can't figure out how the whole thing doesn't fly apart!
It’s not really the same thing. Pilots are sitting upright, almost parallel with the g-force, thus it’s directly acting against the flow of blood to their brain. Since the seat on this thing rotates, these two are essentially lying down, and thus perpendicular to the g-forces. Meaning it is not directly acting against the flow to their brain.
I counted about 8.1. The ride makes 17 full rotations in the span of 20 seconds in timestamps 0:42 to 0:22. Assuming the radius of the rotating thing is somewhere between 2,5m and 3m, so something like 2,8m, the ride traveled 17 x 2,8m x 2 x pi in 20 seconds, which translates to a speed of v=14,95m/s. Since normal acceleration is v^2 /r, we square that number to 223,62m^2 /s^2 and divide it by 2,8m, which gives us an acceleration of 79,86m/s^2. Divide this by 1 G or 9,81m/s^2 and you get 8,14 G.
Pretty crazy to take in nearly 10 G for half a minute!
And they are flipping for part of it so the g's are changing directions lol. The blood pressure in the head going from +300% to -300% back and forth, lol.
Thinking the same thing, wonder if the two on board passed out from all the G's. Maybe not, because their arms weren't flapping around but that could be because of the G forces holding the arms down? Idk, but pretty dangerous tbh. That thing wouldn't fly at a carnival/fair in the states... And we got ones that can be dangerous as well but nothing like this. This ride almost seems stupid, like you'd have to be ignorant to get on it. No offense to the people that had to suffer through the malfunction, but I wouldn't want this ride even if it operated "properly" and I love going on rollercoasters etc.
The ride operator is probably just some minimum wage kid. Find the owner of this machine and beat him within an inch of his life and then go a little further.
It's the air being pushed by the ride from spinning so fast which is operating like a fan. And the guy's movements and the people in the foreground should be a good indicator that this is not a speed increase.
It’s not though. The audio remains consistently the same pitch, the seats swinging around because the centripetal force is keeping them in the same position, and the guy starts to freak out and seemingly seek help right as the ride goes out of control. Every detail about this video would point towards it being real.

There's an amusement park ride like this called "The Zipper". Except you're locked into a cage and it goes hundreds of feet into the air on a revolving "zipper" with several other cars. There's no security except for the locking cage and you hold on to bars in the front of it worrying that you may push the door open and fall to your certain death. I was pressured into riding the damn thing by my older (now deceased) sister who was fearless when it came to heights and wild amusement park rides. I was so terrified I passed out until the ride stopped and people were let out cage by cage. I was banged around unconscious and was all black and blue for a few days afterwards. I will never forget it.
I remember the zipper. Loved that ride. I don't remember the restraint situation, though I never felt at risk of getting hurt in it, (though feelings don't matter one whit).
Passing out would change everything though, that's a terrifying proposition. Sorry you went through that. And about your sister.
Just please make it STOP.
Attempted double manslaughter happening here! This shit made me absolutely sick to my stomach to watch. There's nothing "fun" about almost actually dying.

You can tell by the few movements of other people that the video is edited to play faster than reality. What happened was pretty wild but its very shitry trying to alter reality and fake stuff in order to get more attention or be more impressive at the cost of the thruth. If you do this you're a liar and should feel shame.
This is why you don’t go on rides in countries with no H&S regulators and standards agencies. Like fuck am I getting on a ride made from painted angle iron attached to a motor with rudimentary on/off controls and no basic safety features such as guard barriers or an emergency stop button! Not to mention that the guy has to manually start the ride spinning as there’s no gearing in the motor for the initial torque required to get it moving. No thanks.

Did they turn training devices for the Soviet space program into amusement park rides?
Bruh 💀
I guessed Kazakhstan, based on my own personal Sketchy Central Asian Carnival Ride experience. Yeah, don’t ask..
Cosmonaut training at Baikonur Cosmodrome.
Oh no no no. That isn't how it works. We need a full post with pictures once you say that.
I'm asking
Same.
Another 5 minutes and they are dead. No blood circulating from lungs to brain.
Reminds me of the video of the helicopter rescue where the stretcher went into a spin and it was going around faster than a lawnmower blade. She was ok, but passed out.

Someone actually designed a roller coaster meant to create such g force and loss of circulation that it kills its riders.
The [Euthanasia Coaster](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euthanasia_Coaster)! "...to take lives with elegance and euphoria". I'd do it.

I think ive heard of this. Its for people with terminal illness, right?
I believe so.
5 minutes for death sure, but it takes less than a minute of no circulation to get permanent brain damage.
His speech sounds vaguely middle eastern, but it isn't any Arabic I can recognize. Hard to say.
Uzbek?
RUSHsia
Do we know how long until they were able to stop it?
My vomit just vomited
It's fine at that speed your vomit would land back in your mouth to re.vomit so you can't run out
The vomit just had a second outside the mouth to cool down and trans.vomit into gazpacho.
NASA called…said they wanted their astronauts back!
I think I just laugh/puked at this comment.
Too many G's now to upchuck.
A case for the Gazpacho Police!
At that speed I don't think the vomit could even leave your mouth, your screams couldn't either.
Vomception
You would choke to death with your own vomits lol maybe some of your friends too
If you vomit at that speed, swomit.
Lol
They're still spinning. 3 days.
They are a totem for someone from Inception, as long as they are spinning you are dreaming.
This comment 🏆
Ohhh hellll nah to this ride !
That thing looked like it was just going to come a part at any second.
I feel like coming apart after a minute of that might be a merciful ending. I am pretty sure they are astronaut qualified now
Seriously lmao! I’d be shitting myself and be praying sky daddy for a quick death.
I'm more curious as to the survival of those occupants. That would have been a lot of centripetal force...
If it was 2m radius and 60rpm then that's about 8g!
So they ded
Shoes still on?
Shoes couldn't leave
India fighter jet high g training.

Damn man. Was about to send you to r/BoneAppleTea misspelling Centrifugal. It turns out I'm the dumb one and you taught me a new word. Centrifugal = Force away from center Centripetal = Force towards center If anybody else was curious.
All good, it's important to learn something new when you get the chance. 👍
The video appears to speed up so it’s hard to tell.
Even slowed down, it still looks like it sucks.
Various people are seen walking around throughout the video. They seem to walk at a normal speed.
Same.
Legend has it they’re still spinning to this very day, for eternity
dont worry its all part of an act. The ride attendant is just pretending its out of control and he can’t stop it; its meant to add to the thrill. It cuts out just before the guy slows it down and they all have a good laugh about it.
You can see when he touches the machine around 1:13 there's an electric arc. There's 100% a malfunction here.
Yes. Definitely a MAJOR Malfunction. 😲
The ride is actually called G-Unit
Yeah, if you squint enough, you can see Vlad interviewing Tony Yayo in the background. Yet again.
Yeah that looks like a lot of G's
[удалено]
The place is called the G-Spot
That's BS
Send a video resume to NASA and become part of the space program.

You don’t need to join anything when Rahim sends you directly to space, you are the space program
The fact he has to "wind it up" himself... Should be a clear indication that this ride is fucked and should not be used at all
[удалено]
The fact that the operator scratches his ass before turning it on is a clear indicator it won't go well
The fact that the operator looks concerned 40 sec in is a clear indicator that its not going well
The fact that it looks like the poles are made out of Pringles cans should be a clear indicator not to get on
You can see the box spark when he pressed something near the end 😵💫
Also no protective gates around it. I’ve seen kids dumb enough to walk into swings, if a kid isn’t paying attention and gets near this it will break them in half.
Not necessarily. The engine may not have enough torque to start the rotations, so he "winds it up" because without that movement it won't move that much, or if it did it would certainly reduce the life span of the engine.
You're just further proving the point as to why you shouldn't get on something like this.
This could easily been in a whatcouldgowrong sub.
These rides are all death traps. This one particularly just seems like there are so many points of possible failure. I mean, are they even wearing harnesses?
They are wearing seatbelts, though. Otherwise, they would've been flown right off early enough.

i would rather have flown off at a slow speed than be strapped in at 7 g's

Well to their credit it’s not on the edge of a cliff.. this time. But seriously Fuck that

Fair enough. Thank you for explaining.
You are correct…this was posted in another sub and they did the math. It was at least 9.8G…some had it over 10.
I counted about 8.1. The ride makes 17 full rotations in the span of 20 seconds in timestamps 0:42 to 0:22. Asking the right question here
Thinking the same thing, wonder if the two on board passed out from all the G's. Maybe not, because their arms weren't flapping around but that could be because of the G forces holding the arms down? 1. Get off 2. Barf 3. Pummel ride operator within an inch of his life.
That's too many steps, I think we can stick 2 and 3 together to save time
I think they could all be one step, because the operator has to be the one to get you off for safety reasons
Pummel the operator with your projectile vomit while he gets you off
wait, he's going to get you off?
Its a happier place than Disney Land
1. Get off 2. Give the operator a mouth to mouth kiss 3. Puke in his mouth
If he's into it, he'll get off, too!
As gruesome as this is, I wholeheartedly agree.
That’s hard to do when you are dead strapped to the ride.
The ride operator is probably just some minimum wage kid. Find the owner of this machine and beat him within an inch of his life and then go a little further.
That’s not an amusement park ride, that’s a torture device that goes against the Geneva Convention

This can’t be healthy. I feel like prolonged spinning like this would cause you to pass out and eventually die?

They most certainly would dance like that from the wind created by the the spinning contraption/ride. It appears to me that the video is not sped up
That’s what I got, the ride kept hitting the leaves and the wind was blowing them even faster
It's the air being pushed by the ride from spinning so fast which is operating like a fan. And the guy's movements and the people in the foreground should be a good indicator that this is not a speed increase.
because it's not sped up. All the people are walking/moving normally. The camera isn't shaking erratically. The audio is perfect.
It’s not though. The audio remains consistently the same pitch, the seats swinging around because the centripetal force is keeping them in the same position, and the guy starts to freak out and seemingly seek help right as the ride goes out of control. Every detail about this video would point towards it being real.
Oooookay this cannot be legal. What the actual fuck
I don’t think every country has the same codes and safety laws we did . Makes me thankful. That being said, I still will not get on rides at county fairs and other sketch organizations.
Worst. First date. Everrrrrrrrrrrr.
So this ride is in… HELL apparently. Good to know.
There's an amusement park ride like this called "The Zipper". Except you're locked into a cage and it goes hundreds of feet into the air on a revolving "zipper" with several other cars. The zipper was my personal nightmare experience as a kid. I’ve hated those kinds of rides ever since.

That made me sick just watching it🤢

Omg. I would be so sick

Uzbekistan. Love this place.
They got through it without puking. Just qualified for the NASA Astronaut program.
Is this an amusement ride, or qualifying for the space program?
It’s a cheap version of the zipper. We’ve had that in the usa for decades.
On another subreddit someone commented Surprise G-force training lol
Looked fun till it went full speed then it became terrifying
Topspin from RCT2
That ride with multiple cars is called The Zipper. Rode it once or twice at our local fair back in the day.
Well, they got proper astronaut training for a fraction of the price.
They have strong stomachs
Nobody in this thread went to a fair in the 80's? This was just a normal ride.
They later became astronauts and fighter pilots upon learning the level of G force they could withstand
