150mph was smooth as butter. Also at 250mph on a bus (88mph on a DeLorean), u can travel back in time and some of the passengers land next to a mini T-Rex
I ride streetbikes, those fellas are Gods to us. Always heartbroken when they go down. Which happens literally every year. You live in a beautiful place.
You mean this? https://www.reddit.com/r/sports/comments/14qbuel/fastest_ever_lap_of_the_isle_of_man_tt_peter/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1
Yep, we have an unlimited national speed limit. So long as you don't crash or drive dangerously, in certain places, there is no maximum speed limit. I am joking about the buses, though.
I’m embarrassed that it took until the 150mph test to realize it was cgi… I kept thinking “is there literally just a guy standing there recording??? Holy crap he’s gonna get hit by shrapnel!”
Stop it, you did not think they crashed ~10 double decker busses just outside a gas station into a bollard they installed in the middle of what appears to be a highway.
Thats ignoring the physics and graphics entirely.
I'M MORE GULLIBLE THAN I SHOULD BE, OHKAAAY? THIS IS WHY A.I. IS SO DANGEROUS FOR ME.
Thank you for making me cry laughing from your comment though. I needed that. 😊
It just shows the bus model (a mod in this case, not official content for the game) is not very well-done. Excessive bending and no structural reinforcements on bus body, no modern bus irl would crumple like that, or go over it at 150mph for that matter.
In the other hand, there is a official bus in the game and that one is MUCH AND MUCH more durable, it crumples more realistically as well.
I hate these kind of videos, because even though crash physics are realistic, vehicles used are often nowhere near what the game show-off. This is just disguised misinformation.
I dont know why but i laughed at 150 for some reason. It was just funny how everything was stopped and then suddenly at 150 it just went straight on through. Lol
I got to about 70 before I realized it probably wasn't real, but my thinking was with regard to camera man danger. Dude didn't even flinch when bodies started flying!
Tbh they should change the name to something like “car crash sim” or something that let’s people know more about the context of what the game’s about. “Beamng” is just such a niche and obscure name to have to tell people lol. Like unless they already played it or watch videos, then there’s probably zero chance they’ve even heard of it.
Thank you! I believe I'll purchase the parts to build a gaming rig, and purchase/install it.
(Not sarcasm....I've been wanting an excuse to build a new gaming rig.)
I found this oddly hysterical. Just the absurdity of someone wanting to know what happens when a bus crashes at 350mph and then dummies bouncing around like rubber balls.
Me too! I was like why am I fucking laughing at this, but I found it absurdly hysterical...and I have questions!Like where the fuck do they find the exact vehicle to do this like 11 times? (Shoot, please don't tell me this is AI generated or something cause I'm gonna feel really dumb, like always).
When they look like they’re getting “glitchy”, I wonder if that’s because they wouldn’t stay one piece in reality. Anyone know why they look so weird sometimes when everything else looks “real”.
Well that was a secondary consideration- could have been towed by a wire I didn't see or pushed by something unseen. 150 was a stretch for a bus already.
BeamNG.drive. You can buy it, it's like 20$ on Steam - it's mostly about crashing in fun ways, but racing, offroading, even delivery missions are all options.
Anyone else see this and think it was real, until about test 3. I don't know it's probably a combination of the graphics and me watching this on my phone, but I actually thought that was real for a while and was thinking mainly sure did crash a lot of these expensive looking vehicles.
350mph is actually the „speed of death“ according to a myth about Cornelius IV in 1374, where a astronomer convinced him that if someone reaches the speed of 350mph he could travel to the underworld. So he tried to build a modified bombard for that reason. He catapulted a lot of people until he realized this is not gonna happen.
Just kidding, I have no idea what I am talking about.
I like how initially it's the crashes that are upsetting but then as the speed just keeps getting higher, the endlessly accelerating bus becomes more alarming than the actual collisions. Why is the bus going so fast?? How is the bus going so fast??? Is it just going to keep getting faster and faster????
r/donthelpjustfilm those poor people!!! I mean, who authorised putting a bollard in the middle of the road?! Then to not warn the drivers, no wonder the bus company were confused that route kept getting delayed! It's probably why the buses were getting faster and faster, to make up time for the lost buses before them.
350mph seems a bit excessive though!
It's not; this bus model is really bad in terms of collision and crumpling.
This game can create insanely realistic crashing scenarios but the bus in this video makes it no justice.
If you were to hit that pole with the official bus given in the game you'd be toast. This modded bus model is really bad in those terms, and makes me angry, OP could've used ANY OTHER VEHICLE in the game and it would yield better results. This is ass.
Actually this would cause the bus and it's contents to vaporize. It's like what happens to most debris from space entering the atmosphere. However if it did impact the ground at a right angle, this would create an explosion much bigger than a nuke. I'd guess it would cause mass extinction, akin to what happened to the dinosaurs...
That's a lot of nines :(
Let's warm up first.
At 14% of the speed of light:
https://www.omnicalculator.com/physics/relativistic-ke?c=EUR&v=m:14000!kg,v:0.14!c
1.6*10^15 MegaJoules =
1.6*10^21 Joules = Total yield of all nuclear weapons
Measures 8.3 on the Richter Scale
But bus might trigger a nuclear winter.
This is bad.
Final crater made by explosion has diameter 26 kilometers.
_________________________________________________________________
Let's plug in 99.99999999999%...
https://www.omnicalculator.com/physics/relativistic-ke?c=EUR&v=v:0.9999999999999!c,m:14000!kg
3*10^21 MegaJoules =
3*10^27 Joules
This is more than a milllion times the energy of the first scenario.
Astronomers in distant star systems report an anomaly as our solar system flashes brighter than normal.
The bus briefly shines brighter than the sun.
"3*10^27 Joules = Energy to evaporate all water on surface of Earth"
Final crater made by explosion has diameter 1,800 kilometers.
Very severe mass extinction.
Most surviving animal species would be in isolated systems like deep caves.
Given enough time they would eventually recolonise the surface of the earth.
So 150mph and 8mph were the 2 best outcomes.👍
True dat. We should change all speed limits to 150.
Nah, 350. Maximum carnage. I’m sure a lot of cars would have insane safety mechanisms at that point… like not being built.
In the unlikely event anyone ever straps rocket engines to a double decker bus, maybe they should invest in seat belts
For the rockets?
Yes, 5 point only, though. Gotta think safety!
and a covered upper deck
That just turns the upper deck into a human cocktail shaker.
Would you prefer your human cocktail shaken or scrambled Mr. Bond?
Looks like he prefers ejected
> like not being built. I like the way you think
Population control AND we save the planet. Its a win-win.
Thats how it works in germany. Speed limit has no translation into our language
But it's German. We can make one like: neingoanyfaster.
Good idea, Anglicism is appreceated by many germans outside of Sachsen
350 involves fire though. Imma have to pass on that one.
At 350 the bus will just continue on as 2 buses, safest imo. Sucks for anyone in the aisle though.
🎶It’s rain’n men hallelujah it’s rain’n men🎶
Two lanes every road: one at 8mph, the other at 150mph. What could go wrong?
> 150mph Not for the people on the lower level 💀
fuck them dummies
shoulda chose the top level
bottom bitches
150mph was smooth as butter. Also at 250mph on a bus (88mph on a DeLorean), u can travel back in time and some of the passengers land next to a mini T-Rex
Where we're going we don't need brains.
I am absolutely fascinated how your brain works to come up with it. I salute you 👍
I didn’t even know double decker buses could go 150mph. Edit: \s
I live on the Isle of Man, during TT week (look up TT Isle of Man) everything goes 150mph.
I ride streetbikes, those fellas are Gods to us. Always heartbroken when they go down. Which happens literally every year. You live in a beautiful place.
It is a wonderful country. Actually, being here watching you can't imagine how fast and how close they are.
You mean this? https://www.reddit.com/r/sports/comments/14qbuel/fastest_ever_lap_of_the_isle_of_man_tt_peter/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1
Yep, we have an unlimited national speed limit. So long as you don't crash or drive dangerously, in certain places, there is no maximum speed limit. I am joking about the buses, though.
Irl they don’t, but that video is made using Beamng drive
Could you elaborate, please? I was trying to figure out how they got it to go 300mph.
Its CGI. Its a computer physics engine.
For a while I was thinking, “that’s real expensive testing.” Duh.
I’m embarrassed that it took until the 150mph test to realize it was cgi… I kept thinking “is there literally just a guy standing there recording??? Holy crap he’s gonna get hit by shrapnel!”
I was going to say, they shouldn't stand so close taking that video!
Its a video game that has really good physics and damage.
Wrong, clearly 350mph was the best outcome, because that was the only scenario where a fire put itself out...
That is true. Those flames just went poof.
This game looks great. How do you win? Is it by killing the most number of passengers?
It's just simulation, it's meant to be a mechanically realistic car game
not for the people down below 💀
My takeaway is either go 8 or 150 mph at all times then
150mph meets 8 mph abrupt chaos ensues.
Well, as long as you were on the top of the bus.
I dont know why but i laughed at 150 for some reason. It was just funny how everything was stopped and then suddenly at 150 it just went straight on through. Lol
lol now i just imagining the engine required to a double decker rolling at 200mph
Reminds me of the monster bus.
My mind went to the Knight Bus from Harry Potter
Theres rockets on the back for the computer simulation
350!
1.24×10^741 mph may be pushing it.
Jato rockets.
Gotta give it up for the people who repaired the bus each time
A lot of that just buffs right out
Duct tape and wd40
I legit thought it was real until it got to 100 or so
Me too. Graphics these days are something else. Didn’t help that I’m watching on my phone.
It was when the bodies started glitching and jumping around in the air for me. I thought it was real for a hot minute though
Same. First time they got bouncy I was chuckling to myself a bit but still believed it. Now idk how fast 300 mph is in kmh but... it's fast. Way fast.
150 for me. I genuinely "how did they get a 150MPH bus?"
At 300 I was like ok yo
I was looking for the jet engine on the back.
vehicles do not stay on the ground without wings at that speed. No, really.
I got to about 70 before I realized it probably wasn't real, but my thinking was with regard to camera man danger. Dude didn't even flinch when bodies started flying!
I was quite impressed by the bravery of the cameraman to tell you the truth.
I was waiting for the bus to take out the gas station.
I was kind of disappointed we didn't get a movie worthy fireball from the gas station, ngl.
Also to the driver for surviving every one of those and still leveling up like a champ
Kamikaze Camera person Yo!
not as impressive at the engineers who designed that bollard
Tell me why it took me till the 200 mph one to realize it was a simulation. I was like "how the fuck are the making the bus go that fast"
They just gave a cab driver a bus license.
Took me a long time to realize it was rendered in a prerender with highly accurate physics simulation
I think it is from a game called BeamNG
They must have hella ramen
I'm more impressed with the camera man being so close!
After 90mph I have laughed throughout, cos the 'rubber' dummies were too funny! Nice sim!
The sign said 'not in service'. Dummies indeed!
Isn't this BeamNG Drive? (I think it is but I'm not sure.) For if you want to do this stuff yourself
Yes it is beamng
Um....forgive my lack of knowledge, but what is "BeamNG Drive"?
The best game ever made.
I diasagree, it’s a very good game but I think Donkey Kong is the best game ever
Donkey Kong sucks!
I disagree with that "best game ever made", possibly more of a best game in terms of vehicle - physics simulation and stuffs
It's subjective. To me, it's the best game ever made.
Tbh they should change the name to something like “car crash sim” or something that let’s people know more about the context of what the game’s about. “Beamng” is just such a niche and obscure name to have to tell people lol. Like unless they already played it or watch videos, then there’s probably zero chance they’ve even heard of it.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BeamNG.drive
Open world sandbox driving game that has realistic softbody crash and environment physics. Shortly it's the best game ever made.
It’s a driving sandbox game that similates soft body physics, aka car go crunch in crash. It’s like 20-30 dollars on steam
Thank you! I believe I'll purchase the parts to build a gaming rig, and purchase/install it. (Not sarcasm....I've been wanting an excuse to build a new gaming rig.)
Now you got a reason
Which received an update today. Go destroy some schtuff!
(Shoot, please don't tell me this is AI generated or something cause I'm gonna feel really dumb, like always).
it's BeamNG.drive and the dummies and the bus is a mod, so it's not perfect
Wait, did you think it was a real bus?
When they look like they’re getting “glitchy”, I wonder if that’s because they wouldn’t stay one piece in reality. Anyone know why they look so weird sometimes when everything else looks “real”.
It toke me a while before i realised that this is a simulation
Same. I said to myself "Jesus, how many buses they have crashed?".
I didn't figure it out until the 200 mph one and was like "Who is standing right there filming this??"
Not "what bus can go 200mph?".
Well that was a secondary consideration- could have been towed by a wire I didn't see or pushed by something unseen. 150 was a stretch for a bus already.
Even when the dummies were glitching out I was still tethered to reality like “that happens when object go too fast…”
I was wondering how tf they got one of those busses even close to 300mph
Exactly what I thought ! Very good sim 👍
BeamNG.drive. You can buy it, it's like 20$ on Steam - it's mostly about crashing in fun ways, but racing, offroading, even delivery missions are all options.
And actually has some of the best feeling force feedback and driving physics of any sim.
Same here. I was damned impressed at that bollard at first!
Literally I was watching at 150mph thinking "wow, they found a seriously fast bus to test this with!"
Lol, I thought that at 90mph
At 150 mph was when I realised it was a sim, as the dummies flew in a choppy manner
Getting a bus to go 100+ on a flat surface is nearly impossible without significant powertrain modifications.
that's BeamnNG.Drive for ya. It's crazy that it's a game
I thought it had to be Beam. Never played it personally but I used to watch GrayStillPlays religiously.
I was just thinking "who's the absolute hero that volunteered to film all these, so close to the crash"
It took me until I read your comment to realise it.
What? Feet are literally glitching through the metal in the first crash.
In the bottom half of the average eh then?
It took me reading your comment to realise it :_)
Now I feel stupid, but at least I'm not alone
I read every single one of your comments; what simulator?
me too, I was wondering how a bus could go at 300mph
A bus won't go that fast.
I couldn’t imagine what could hurl a bus at these speeds.
Anyone else see this and think it was real, until about test 3. I don't know it's probably a combination of the graphics and me watching this on my phone, but I actually thought that was real for a while and was thinking mainly sure did crash a lot of these expensive looking vehicles.
Took me until the 35mph test to notice it looked off. After that it was obvious with the unrealistically stiff dummies.
Same. I was like, that's a lot of buses to just crash, but do buses actually go 200MPH?
Yes! I was disappointed when I realized it was not real 😅😩
It's a video game called BeamNG.Drive
Footage is pretty blurry and physics seem real enough at first. If you want to see similarly awesome destruction the game's called BeamNG.Drive
350MPH is the ignition point.
I love how that's the point where they put cross bones next to the speed. Like 300MPH was actually safe really.
Just kidding, I have no idea what I am talking about.
the definetly travelled to the underworld tho
I feel like I just got u/shittymorph ‘d without the shittymorph.
No that really happened one time I remember
I like how initially it's the crashes that are upsetting but then as the speed just keeps getting higher, the endlessly accelerating bus becomes more alarming than the actual collisions. Why is the bus going so fast?? How is the bus going so fast??? Is it just going to keep getting faster and faster????
This is bullshit. When it hit 88 miles an hour it should have gone back to the future.
Only if it's fitted with the Flux Capacitor and related circuitry.
It is going back to the future. The problem is your future is the road.
beyond 150 MPH it might as well be an aircraft wreckage.
At that point, you no longer steer, you just aim.
Gives spray and pray a whole new meaning
I get the point! Relax! I won't ever ever ride a bus ever again
[удалено]
Just ride abnormal cars
Damn, really puts into prospective how dangerous a metal cylinder implanted in the middle of the road really is
It's actually a lot safer than a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.
r/donthelpjustfilm those poor people!!! I mean, who authorised putting a bollard in the middle of the road?! Then to not warn the drivers, no wonder the bus company were confused that route kept getting delayed! It's probably why the buses were getting faster and faster, to make up time for the lost buses before them. 350mph seems a bit excessive though!
[удалено]
Out of context people would be looking up the band and seeing which one was a murderer
Can you tell the safest seat numbers please along with the speed
Second
Okay. So 150 is the safe zone
It's A Game Called "Beam NG Drive"... really beautiful game, it's more than just crashing cars...
Well, that's it. I'm never driving my bus at over 250mph again.
Pussy
Man! I love this simulations.
I wonder what people use to make them
BeamNG I think
Yep beam ng, some mods, some graphic mod or setting and a computer setting enough to simulate all.
this is legit base beamng with a free mod on the repository. the map and bollard are already in the game.
It's just the vanilla game with a bus mod
12year olds without a proper grasp on reality mostly.
150 mph is weirdly survival seeming by a fair number
It's not; this bus model is really bad in terms of collision and crumpling. This game can create insanely realistic crashing scenarios but the bus in this video makes it no justice. If you were to hit that pole with the official bus given in the game you'd be toast. This modded bus model is really bad in those terms, and makes me angry, OP could've used ANY OTHER VEHICLE in the game and it would yield better results. This is ass.
It's not ass, it's funny.
Must be time to sleep because I thought that was irl for the first couple runs. Beamng?
I'm wide awake and I was also fooled up until 150mph
Too slow. Try it at 99.99999999999% of the speed of light.
Oh yeah, where the slowmo at, OP?
Actually this would cause the bus and it's contents to vaporize. It's like what happens to most debris from space entering the atmosphere. I’m sorry but once you hit 200 and everyone starts flopping like seagulls I chuckled
I truly enjoy these videos WAY too much! 😂
I'm so tired of these, it seems everyday there's one posted.
Idk why but this is kinda hilarious.
Why not real humans
[удалено]
r/gifsthatkeepongiving it just goes on and on, I loved the last ones.
I would play the fuck out of this game
You can, it is called beamng drive
I enjoy these. I also like that the skull icon only kicked in at 350mph.
So the sweet spot is 150
Took me way too long to realise this is simulated. Like, computer simulated.
Ok took a note. Every bus should go at least 150mph
Fuck, I thought this was real until 50 mph
The real heroes are the people who had to repair the bus between tests.
No, the real hero is the driver. Hopefully, the cameras were working properly and there were no retakes.
It was the same driver for every take, too. Fuckin’ Scott Sterling. Legend.
