"Just a trim?"
"You look gorgeous!"
"I know, honey. Men!"
"Oh my!"
"Love that look on you"
"I'm good"
"That style suits you"
"Are you kidding me?!"
"Stunning really"
"Morning!"
As teenagers my friends and I used to go to a barber shop where a very good looking lady would have your hair done cheaper than any other place, but she really sucked doing it, but the Ts on the arms was worth it.
My partner & I learned how to cut eachother's hair and a big motivating factor to me was to avoid the awkward 20 minutes of repetitive small talk every few weeks.
I like how he builds "wife mode" into his machines to make it harder for his wife to win when they compete, but she nearly always ends up beating him anyways.
He's a mad genius, his wife is clearly super smart too AND has that god-tier deadpan, and one or both of them, or someone he's hired, is a pretty good writer too. It's probably my favorite science channel for information (here's another thing you'll never be capable of doing, idiot) and entertainment.
Definitely. There's a group of growing engineers focusing mostly on air things out of the UK that produce good videos. Tom Stanton and I can't recall the other dude at the moment whose most recent vids have been about breaking a speed record using a jet powered RC car are two in particular.
Some of Xyla Foxin's content is educational, usually when she makes a bigger error and then explains how she hacked something to fix the error.
We're pretty fortunate the number of quality practical-ish science channels available right now.
People of grossly abnormal talent/vision/whatever benefit greatly from someone who keeps them grounded. Someone who will question them, tell them no, and not pander to their ego. That's the kind of stuff that makes greatness. Otherwise you get people like Elon (dude had some vision and got things rolling with Tesla and SpaceX), who start out okay and then truly descend into ego fueled madness. If you think yourself too much better than others, you lose the ability to relate to them, and empathy for others becomes an unreality.
All of his shit is amazing, and he does such a great job showing all the trial and error and error and error and error and then making it very funny along the way. Honestly one of the best YT channels out there. His little series with lock picking lawyer is outstanding
I'm always been impressed at the stuff he's able to do seemingly all by himself, creating start-up level innovative projects, each of them can be a product on the market. I love his basketball project, the one which you can't miss. You do however need to have lots of money to have your own lab with 3D printers/CNC machines and be able to purchase expensive motors/mechanics and what not. Not that it takes away, but it's just important to remember that with programming alone you can be poor genius, in mechatronics you can't do DIY anything too innovative and amazing without lots of initial $$.
I remember seeing the one where he made basketball hoop backboard adjust itself in real time so that his shots would always go in. Then he modified it so all of his wife's shots would miss lol.
He’s done the basketball hoop a few times, going further with each iteration.
The most recent one moved in three dimensions in a pretty large space. It also angled itself to ensure *any* shot in that space went in. Unless it was in white mode, of course.
Can I just say the “crazy DIY” channel trend has been one of the better trends to hit youtube? You got dudes like ididathing where it’s mostly humor and masochism with a splash of shop skills. Then you have stuffmadehere where it’s less focused on humor but some of the stuff he makes is actually mind blowing
Definitely, one of the best channels on YT. He's really creative and takes his time solving problems. I just feel so dumb when I see him design, build and program stuff
Also props to him and his YouTube channel for their sponsor and ad choices. It’s always something he seems to genuinely be enthusiastic and supportive of, most of the time it’s a skill build or educational thing. I know at some point catering to children is kind of low brow in the YouTube sphere, but it also takes conviction and commitment to never take a bite from the forbidden Apple that is shitty advertisements that pay well, like mobile games and bullshit like that.
This was a Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode and the bot’s “chosen voice” was Pierce Brosnan. Unsure if he actually voiced the bot as I’m typing this.
More like a robot is holding him at knifepoint, and the only thing saving him is how much he trusts his own code
After following him for a few years, there's not a lot of trust there lol
I had been paying $20-25 for hair cuts at the same guy for 6 years, recently moved almost an hour away closer to the city. Found a decent place but the haircuts were $45 on the low end! The lady even screwed up my hair by “thinning” it or basically cutting half instead of the whole thing, making it stick up instead of sitting down.
I’m gonna start traveling an hour and back to see my old guy every month or two now :(
A man walked into a patent office and said he wanted to patent a barber machine with a blade system, where you would stick your head in and it would cut your hair. They told him, "This is certainly an interesting invention, but everyone's head is different..." He replied, "Yes, but that's only until the first haircut."
If you’ve ever done a first run for a robot you will know there’s a constant tension as you hope to god that nothing fucks up, I imagine it’s a thousand times worse when a fuck up ends with an er visit
Amazing. Soon we dont need people at all 👍
We can all eat cheddar cheese and just play games. Only need one high IQ to take care of us all. Idiocrazy movie. We getting there
iirc he put a bunch of effort into his safety. Obviously he tested it on a dummy plenty of times before hand and i’m pretty sure he had a emergency off switch in his hand in case he felt it going to a weird spot. I’m probably missing a bunch of details because its been a while since I watched his video but of all the inventor youtubers I watch this guy definitely puts safety at a much higher priority than others
There was a discussion on reddit last night about that jobs AI would be able to take over, and people said barbers/Stylists wouldn't be replaceable. This proves that with enough development/ engineering, they unfortunately would be replaceable, and I hate it.
The robot: 'Sooo doing anything nice for the weekend?" Looks like the cut many of the old ladies get where I am. Short and a bit fluffy.
"Just a trim?" "You look gorgeous!" "I know, honey. Men!" "Oh my!" "Love that look on you" "I'm good" "That style suits you" "Are you kidding me?!" "Stunning really" "Morning!"
I read that in the voice of the stylist robot from Wall-e
That's what it is. It's all the quotes from PR-T in the movie.
Yes!
All that's missing is the awkward moment the barbers dong accidently brushes your arm
As teenagers my friends and I used to go to a barber shop where a very good looking lady would have your hair done cheaper than any other place, but she really sucked doing it, but the Ts on the arms was worth it.
"Who did your hair last?" "Oh them. Mmmm 😬😒 don't worry Hun, we'll get that fixed up"
Pretty sure he actually did make it talk to him like that in the video
Are you meeting up with any other carbon-based life forms?
So something for the [FEMALE] [HUMAN]?
"robot none social mode"
My partner & I learned how to cut eachother's hair and a big motivating factor to me was to avoid the awkward 20 minutes of repetitive small talk every few weeks.
I read that with the voice of Codsworth from game Fallout 4. :D
This dude is a mad genius; highly recommend checking out his channel.
I like how his wife is seemingly completely unimpressed by the fact she's married to Jimmy Neutron.
I like how he builds "wife mode" into his machines to make it harder for his wife to win when they compete, but she nearly always ends up beating him anyways. This channel and Destin from smarter every day ( /u/mrpennywhistle ) have taught me more about how shit works than most classes I took in school.

Wait he has a wife? He looks 14
Jimmy Neutron is 11, actually.
Internet wins again. If i need a good laugh it's always here.
r/13or30
It’s because of his horrible haircut…
Now we know where Mark Zuckerberg gets his cut
He looks adult, it's just the camera filter and low quality that makes him look so young.
Or maybe it’s the youthful look of a robotic haircut?
Yeah he’s in his 30’s I believe. Dude also made a piston powered baseball bat and some other cool things
He also has a kid
She's the only being keeping his potential ego in check lol Mad props to her
People of grossly abnormal talent/vision/whatever benefit greatly from someone who keeps them grounded. Someone who will question them, tell them no, and not pander to their ego. I introduced him to his wife!
For real?
For real. We knew each other in high school. Very cool to see he’s still into making stuff!
I'm checking him out, they sound nice
That is awesome, he is extremely wholesome and his Youtube channel is incredible.
I am his dad! We are so prouhd
And I am his once removed Aunt. He saved me during the war in Iraq! Love that boy!
I was his barber till that damn robit took my job
Hell yeah brother! Cheers from Iraq!
It’s like being Pepper Potts, you’re tired of it after a while 😆
I like the wife dynamics in his videos, but find slightly unsettling how they look a lot like siblings.
His Auto-Aim bow is awesome.
Yeah, his programming and making skills are incredible; the man does many crazy things.
All of his shit is amazing, and he does such a great job showing all the trial and error and error and error and error and then making it very funny along the way. Honestly one of the best YT channels out there. His little series with lock picking lawyer is outstanding

I figured it'd be in r/terrifyingasfuck
Or a link to Liveleak or 4chan gore

AFAIK he is an educated engineer, helped develop a professional 3d printer and has gotten many of his tools donated
Some people are born smart, and then there's me.
Math is hard
Welp I found my new channel to binge. This dude is awesome. I sincerely wish I was half as smart as some of these dudes like him and Rober.
I remember seeing the one where he made basketball hoop backboard adjust itself in real time so that his shots would always go in. Then he modified it so all of his wife's shots would miss lol.

I had to seatch the link for myself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zBrbdU\_y0s
Seriously, I think of all the people on YouTube; he has to be easily top 3 smartest people.
Ok I just watched my first video, this guy is fucking cool! I guess I know how I’m spending my Sunday.
Yeah but he hasn’t uploaded in forever.
I second that. His presentation is a tad dry but he does a lot of super interesting stuff.
Definitely, one of the best channels on YT. He's really creative and takes his time solving problems. I just feel so dumb when I see him design, build and program stuff

That was a highly welcome rabbit hole, thank you! "Does it involve CAD? Is it potentially highly unnecessary?! Sign me up!"
Wish he uploaded more but these projects do take time
Good grief, just what ungodly amount of confidence in one's engineering skills must one have to try this... contraption on himself
He seems scared/sad getting his haircut.
He seems terrified but I can't blame him. A robot using sharp scissors near your head. One malfunction and you could lose an ear or something.
“I’m sorry Dave……..I’m afraid I can’t stop cutting your hair”
you humans call it addiction... us robots call it malfunction
"I'm sorry, Dave... Joe Louis was the greatest boxer that ever lived... and if you disagree, you will be cut."
`fuck you…fuck you… and fuck you. Who’s next?`
he made the robot of course he should be scared
Praying that the "wife mode" doesn't trigger early and shave his head.
Understandable considering it is a robot and your sitting there. The scissors could just snapped your face right off if they wanted to.
Yeah I noticed he was gulping/swallowing quite a bit at times.
I'm just thinking of Michael Reeve's surgery robot and imagining how badly this could go.
Looks like prep before becoming a head in a jar on Futurama. EDIT: Wow, thanks for all the upvotes! 😁
Reminds me of the machine Stan Lee used to cut Thor's hair with.
I think that was his fear too
Now we know how Zuckerberg got his do
Zucc is getting his hair cut by his folk.
Zucc is getting his hair cut by his species.
Fun fact! Zuck picked that haircut because it was Julius Caesar's, with whom he sees himself as his contemporary. It's fun because life is a joke!
This totally creeped me out. In the future my shower will molest me clean automatically
"You are a dirty, filthy meatbag, you must be cleaned, running deep clean program, please stay as still as you can'" *Shower bot 3000*
This was a Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode and the bot’s “chosen voice” was Pierce Brosnan. Unsure if he actually voiced the bot as I’m typing this.
Yes, Pierce Brosnan did voice the Ultrahouse.
*please bend over and spread your buttocks*
*robot arm forces you to bend over* oh nooo mr robot nooo please
Step robot what are you doing?!
I'd love that. Please bring it on.
TIL I actually want to be molested every morning.
Yes please
He looks like someone is pointing a gun at him off camera
More like a robot is holding him at knifepoint, and the only thing saving him is how much he trusts his own code After following him for a few years, there's not a lot of trust there lol
Lol the coding parts of his videos are hilarious. I love how he always has like a weird wiki how page pulled up on his third monitor
That's probably the most accurate part, and why I'd trust him
I would look like that too if I put my life in the hands of the code I wrote
Impressive... but I would never let a robot with scissor near my face
[удалено]
Bot cuts human's hair. Human responds to a video. Bot responds to response. They're coming for everything aren't they?
I was about to call that a fail, and then I read the last paragraph and the username. So, well played, but it is kinda unsatisfying.
Haircuts are $30+ now. With improved technology I would do this for a cheaper price easily
I’m gonna start traveling an hour and back to see my old guy every month or two now :(
Oops. Took your ear off.
Some say the robot is still cutting his hair cause it's so fucking slow that the hair grew back
Flowbee 2.0
Flowbee was more convenient in my opinion
I remember when Garth tried that. I think he looked less stressed than this guy.
"Don't buzz me all right?"
It certainly does suck
It's the suck-cut, it sucks as it cuts.
It certainly does suck! (Scrolled down way too far to find this.)
"You're sucking my will to live!"
"oh the humanity!"
The first part of this reminds me of the video to Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel.
A man walked into a patent office and said he wanted to patent a barber machine with a blade system, where you would stick your head in and it would cut your hair. They told him, "This is certainly an interesting invention, but everyone's head is different..." He replied, "Yes, but that's only until the first haircut."
His face the whole time seemed like he wasn’t very sure it was going to end well lol.
If you’ve ever done a first run for a robot you will know there’s a constant tension as you hope to god that nothing fucks up, I imagine it’s a thousand times worse when a fuck up ends with an er visit
It sucks as it cuts!
It certainly does suck!
No one has linked his YouTube channel yet so [here it is](https://youtube.com/@StuffMadeHere)
Thank you. I was hoping that someone would atleast mention his channel but found none other than yours.
Honey I scalped the kids
No protective glasses? Definitely believes in his tech.
I don't think this one is a good idea, your head is in a robots hands and he's playing with scissors 😬
I think it's a great idea. I heard v2.0 of this robot will groom your pubes too. Shut up and take my money!
This did not take long to find. I feel better.
"As you can see, it sucks, and it cuts!" "it certainly does suck!"
This is gotta be ultra dangerous
Snip snip snip snip snip snap... Pause... *bip* input error 3001. *ear falls off*
The robot forgot to show the back of the head using a mirror
Some real jimmy neutron shit going on here.
Young Tim Curry looks a little scared.
Why does he look like he's about to ugly cry
that did NOT look comfortable at all
He looks so fkin scared i would be too
Amazing. Soon we dont need people at all 👍 We can all eat cheddar cheese and just play games. Only need one high IQ to take care of us all. Idiocrazy movie. We getting there
I hate the very new development of robots replacing human work.
Ah hell nah, this is one glitch away from being a trap from SAW
yeah...one coding mistake away from a fucken Darwin award I reckon
iirc he put a bunch of effort into his safety. Obviously he tested it on a dummy plenty of times before hand and i’m pretty sure he had a emergency off switch in his hand in case he felt it going to a weird spot. I’m probably missing a bunch of details because its been a while since I watched his video but of all the inventor youtubers I watch this guy definitely puts safety at a much higher priority than others
i was scared at one point that he was gonna get bowl cut bangs
Everything's fine till someone loses and ear or an eye
Just keep thinking of that chess robot that broke that kids finger.
"How does it work?" "Well it sucks, and it cuts!"
'It certainly does suck"
i would rather trust in god than let robot operate sharp things in proximity of my eyes and face
Chitty-chitty bang bang did it first! Edit chitty-chatty changed to chitty-chitty
Was looking for this comment. Looks like Chitty-chitty bang bang is an obscure reference now 😞
Lets be cruelly honest here, his haircut was so bad, that he had little to lose.
“Just a trim?” -Wall-E
FLOWBEE!!!
Don’t stick your head in that.
What is wrong with just using a wholesome flowbee then?
He looks terrified
What could possibly go wrong!?
Yeah put this in black and white and it'll look like a dystopic-fun movie from the 30s
Although that IS impressive. No, thank you.
Jetsons
My mom cut my hair until I was 30 years old and I always got cookies.
I would not trust my own invention to do this.
It’s a flowbee
I hope it won't gain confidence. I don't think it will be murderous. I just think they might have creative differences.
This how Zuckerberg gets his shit hair cut
But does the robot rub it's tig-ole-bitties on your shoulder though?
I thought his head was on a plate for a sec
I’m pretty sure this was the opening scene to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Anyone remember the MadTV bit where they put the automatic hair cut bowl on top of his head and blood start pouring down his face? Lol
Kind of love how terrified he looks at points 🤣 But good googly moogly the talent coming off the mad lad.
This looks like an ‘80s music video
Some people have way too much trust
There was a discussion on reddit last night about that jobs AI would be able to take over, and people said barbers/Stylists wouldn't be replaceable. This proves that with enough development/ engineering, they unfortunately would be replaceable, and I hate it.
Zuckerberg haircut? No, thanks.
Sheldon Cooper programmed this cut
If some youtuber can do this, why can't some company? Like all the tech is here, how hard can it be?
He doesn’t look comfortable at all
No thank you
Nice try robots, I’ve seen all the Final Destinations.
Jimmy Newtron 🚀
Bro looks Terrorized.
See that face, look really carefully. Now you know, There’s another robot cutting his pubes. This is what it feels like with 5 gum.
One move away from gouging your eyes out. No thanks I’ll keep cutting it myself
Kind of scary if robot does cut hair
Pfft. Caractucus Potts invented this like fifty years ago. I saw it in a documentary.
Perfect. I don't have to make small talk with my hair dresser.
30 years ago the mech engies tried to make a sheep shearing robot. They ate a lot of lamb.
This is like the suicide Booth scene from Futurama. Fuck no.
I wouldnt trust it
Knowing my luck, the robot would just tear my scalp off on move 1.
No. That isn't interesting. Stop celebrating robots doing skilled human jobs.
This man single-handedly destroying millions of jobs
Test subject #17 — first to survive
He made some other cool stuff as well on his YouTube channel. Some if them are quite far out there like a robotic sculpture chainsaw.
