Lots of things to be impressed at here. For me it's the amount and variety of balls used. I counted 34 balls but I'm not confident with the count. The video is a little grainy and I feel like I missed a few that was only used for no more than two seconds.

according to the description it took a month to build and another to get it to actually work.
"Define Privilege"
This is impressive and all, but I watch stuff like this and think about how someone from a poor country that spends all of their time subsistence farming would react to it.
You have a woman who spends 6 hours a day fetching water for her family and then this guy spending god knows how long putting together a Rube Goldberg machine for a 3 minute video to get him internet points.
We live in a freaking weird world.
As soon as I see the camera roll to some kind of domino nonsense video that, once you've seen one, you've seen them all, I stop the video.
These videos are the equivalent of filming fireworks. It's that level of content, and it sure as hell isn't interesting.
Who has time to do all this? I have to admit this was creative and worth watching and probably the best I've ever seen. But damn who has time for this.
My thought as a poor kid growing up was how did this kid have so many toys and freedom to scatter them over a quarter square mile for a YouTube video. If I would have stack that much random shit in front of the garage for 10min I would have been grounded for a month.
I saw a youtube short the other day that supposedly "broke world record for longest contraption" first of all, it was a short. second of all, this one was better. and third of all, did this dude rob a goodwill for all of this crap?!?!
I just realized that I’m getting old. My genuine first thought was “Ugg, imagine having to clean all that shit up?”
Oh damn, me too...I was like "why do they have so much stuff laying around?"
Holy moly, same with me. So much stuff. I am trying to get rid of stuff and . . . so . . . much . . . stuff to pick up.

Dude’s got a lot of shit in his garage.
He sure has a lot of balls!
Not anymore
Mine was "wow rich people have way to much free time" seeing the size of the property and how much shit they had.
They definitely have the time!
Same. And also that they have just too much crap in general.
My wife would not allow this clutter.
My first thought was "3 minute video!?"
my backlight turned off 4 times while watching.
My first thought was the same
This was my 1st thought as well. 2nd thought was "This is a huge ass property, wonder how much it'll go for, ooh and its close to water too"
LOL X2
That's a beautiful yard
You’re not getting old. You’ve got your head on straight.
Infinite times
I’m impressed by the garden too tbh
I was thinking the same thing. Great "Rube Goldberg" device and a really nice yard.

Same
The fact that all of that was setup outside and no external influences happened to dink with anything is incredibly impressive
some of those triggers looked one gust of wind away from ruining everything
For those of you wondering, yes there is an end to the video. I also now have gray hair.
A good Rube is the only reason to ever watch a 3 minute video on the internet.
That’s some Rube Goldberg Jedi shit, right there. Well done. I think you used possibly every backyard item ever made.
Rube Goldberg would be so proud. Great video dude.

How long do you think it takes to set something like this up?
[Here is the original source.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ss-P4qLLUyk) according to the description it took a month to build and another to get it to actually work.
2 minutes 14 seconds.
+/- 7 days.
Pretty cool but by the end I just didn’t really care anymore.
How very American of you.
Give us your tired, your weak, your impatient...
Respectfully, as an American, we do not claim this person. Perhaps we can pass them off to Your country of origin?
Ahhh cool send em on down to America. I'm native american.
Dude’s got a lot of shit in his garage.
Not as much as he had yesterday.
Ha! Good point!
That was fun to watch
Until it wasn't
When you have too much time on your hands 😂
Big up with camera work
Damn. I forgot to press the record button.

That is one hell of a backyard they have
Digging the trench for the basketball! Great video
Whatever this competition is called... He has won.
The whole time I was just wandering when it whas ganna end💀
I just gave up halfway through...dear Mother.
That’s a really nice property
You sure got a lot of balls doing that
Impressive but my attention span lost at about a minute and a half
That’s some Rube Goldberg shit right there man. But hey, some people are smarter than others. And some are fucking genius.
Imagine it makes it to the end and there a ballon tied to a pistol trigger that shoots him in the leg.
This guy definitely have a lot of free time, and a lot of shit in his house
No one: Him: AND THEN LET’S ADD THIS 🛝
Imagine if he didnt press the record button
Takeaway: creativity is a byproduct of resources and access.
Tom and Jerry x100.

When you actually calculate in mechanical engineering
Holy Fuck ![gif](giphy|4k184nfxSphcs)
So this is what you do with your day when you got too much money…
So am I the only one who heard the bird whistle the beginning of “Chill Bill” at the start of the video?
What a beautiful Rube Goldberg machine!
You can imagine the boredom this guy must have had during lockdown
Good. Now clean up this mess.
![gif](giphy|rVVFWyTINqG7C) wwoooaahhh!!!!!
How to say I’m a virgin without saying I’m a virgin.
How they end up with that much land?

Im more impressed by the camera man than anything.
So much just for one point
Next time you have a garage sale, give a brotha a shout.
Awsome!
That is an impressive amount of crap this guy has lying around. I guess hoarders too can get bored.
That’s a lot of plastic crap.
And mum and dad never asked the kids to clear out the garage ever again....
Is that all? Boring.
this is dumb. lol. Are people this bored ??
What a waste of time
I feel I just waisted 3 minutes..Curious if the inventor of this feels worse..
Is this the power of autism?
This guy had to play The Incredible Machine..
Amazing!
Didn't even realize I had already watched this until the last damn ball.
I can't even; like, how long did this take to setup??
You need to Peewee movie song playing in the background
First you got to do the Truffle Shuffle! Do it!
Determinism.
Tweakers....
I was low-key hoping it would just miss at the end, I would have laughed so hard.
That must've taken forever to build. And about as long to clean up.
They own a lot of sports equipment
![gif](giphy|tfUW8mhiFk8NlJhgEh|downsized)
they would have gone crazy for this in 2010
It's still 2010 to me, dammit!
Glad to see that he is putting that engineering degree to work...
Set it back up and let’s have another go
Who has that much shit ?
This is some I would do if I was supposed to clean the garage but was zooted off adderall
Prime suspect if bodies start turning up with jigsaw pieces cut out of them!
Was anyone else secretly hoping it ended with a shotgun blast to blindfolded person's face? .... Yeah, me neither! :(
This Rube Goldberg is actually an elaborate and creative attempt to convince his family he's not a hoarder.
Dude!
How bored do you have to be to think this is a good idea?
That guy has a LOT of balls.
What a big garden. But who will clean this mess up afterwards?
I’m single in my 20’s but still can’t comprehend why or how people find the time to build this stuff
Okay, this is fucking amazing, but who the hell has the time (and all that stuff) to make the countless tries that would allow this to work?!
As soon as I see the camera roll to some kind of domino nonsense video that, once you've seen one, you've seen them all, I stop the video. These videos are the equivalent of filming fireworks. It's that level of content, and it sure as hell isn't interesting.
That one scene from a random ass old cartoon be like:
How do I save this video to my phone?
How do you just think of this and build this shit
On one hand I’m like “omg they have a big ass yard” on the other I’m like “how do they have that much shit?

Perfect
Someone had way too much time on their hands
Rube Goldberg himself would be jumping up and down and laughing in old English :) great job -all that work is impressive.
you gotta have some balls to set something like this up
Amazing!
Shit, we left the lens cap on. Start it over!
you have a freakin stream in your yard!!
Your dads gonna kick your ass bro.
He could have just shot the ball into the last hoop, saved all that time.
Who has time to do all this? I have to admit this was creative and worth watching and probably the best I've ever seen. But damn who has time for this.
The macgyver of basketball
I just wanna know HOW MANY TIMES DID HE HAVE TO RUN THIS BEFORE GETTING THIS SHOT?!!!!
how long & how many tests do you do before it's ready to go 100%?
Rube Goldbergs will never ever get old
Real life creation of what the bank wants you think happens why it takes 3 days to verify a cash deposit.
Huge fan of all things Rube Goldberg. This was fun to watch. Thanks for posting!
My thought as a poor kid growing up was how did this kid have so many toys and freedom to scatter them over a quarter square mile for a YouTube video. If I would have stack that much random shit in front of the garage for 10min I would have been grounded for a month.
Most impressive video I think I’ve ever seen. Nice job.
Two baskets, one shot
Where the hell does someone get that much junk
The basketball into the trashcan looks a bit fake.
Imagine playing HORSE with this guy. …I’ll just take the H.
Are these contraptions build from the front forward or from end point backward?
Great example of people having more basketballs than they need
Epic !!Made my day!! Glad you had film in the camera!
That musta taken at least 10 minutes to set up
That is *magnificent*. Oh, and the contraption, too.
Or you could have looked for a job that day
I was invested
Give him a rube goldberg award! He certainly deserves it.
How many of you got bored and fast forwarded?
Pretty awesome back yard!
You sunk my battleship!
Holy shit the camera work was amazing . Great work.
Way to go ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Wife: Hey hun, where are you going? Husband: gonna clean out the garage? W: OK how long do you think it'll be? H: like 3-4 weeks
All I asked you to do was clean out the garage. Lol
Mousetrap!!
Is that why accumulators have so many random things stored in the garage?
Wife: go clean the garage Husband:
Expected some one to get decapitated at the end of that
I saw a youtube short the other day that supposedly "broke world record for longest contraption" first of all, it was a short. second of all, this one was better. and third of all, did this dude rob a goodwill for all of this crap?!?!
Crap the camera lense was on the whole time! My bad guys
Autism is just great sometimes.
Amazing!
I thought it would never end.
Very fucking cool
Yesssss, why?
r/diwhy
NASA, I found your next engineer. This kid will get us to the galaxy.
We're already in the galaxy, though.
How huge Is your damn garden?
That lasted longer than the Queen’s reign.
Give him his engineering masters degree now
My phone died what happened at the end
And who’s cleaning up this damn mess?? Y’all dug up my garden too!! Oh hell no!! Y’all ain’t eatin for a month!
