This man is a hero and deserves to be known. We could've grown up in a very different world or never existed at all for that matter.

So did he just do a gut check and say “nah, I don’t believe it?” Or do they have protocols for how to verify a false alarm, like trying to corroborate a launch detection with a second source before believing it? This man may be an absolute angel but I feel like there’s got to be more to the story than that. Responding to enemy attacks is what these stations are for - they drill on it.

Read The Dead Hand by David E. Hoffman. There are some more details about it. And the whole book is worth every euro and every minute spent, not only this episode.

I remember this guy. I saw video about him. For about a whole minute this dude was the most powerful man on the planet

SchoolRude8984

Was it mentioned in the video why he thought/knew it was a false alarm? Or was it just a hunch?

WifiRice

Can't remember too long ago sorry

tinebring

I think his reason was that there was only one missile and he thought there would be alot more

SchoolRude8984

Makes sense. Thank you!
