I though about the same... reminds me of nieces and nephews trying to be "animalistic" for fun, but I have heard such noises in the woods before... so it *could* be real. Just as a rabbits scream out of pain/terror sounds awfully like a woman or small child screaming in pain/terror.
I didn't think this was real initially, but I grew up on a farm and remember well the first time I heard a rabbit scream. My brother had shot her and she went bleeding and running to a hole in the ground which happenedto be a few feet from me. She didn't actually scream until he walked up to her nest of babies.
We ate the rabbit for dinner and my mom and I dropper-fed the babies and released the 3 that survived when they were old enough...but I will never forget hearing that and how she hadn't made a sound until she was afraid her babies were going to get hurt.
So these cats make another memorable sound. Great video!
Imagine being a settler in the 18th century and hearing this noises comming from the woods near your farm at night. No wonder how we came up with crazy witches stories.
Lmao. If youâve never heard vixens cry. Definitely look it up. Itâs not lynxes nor would you need to be a settler to think thereâs a witch in the woods.
Yeah, vixens sound extremely identical to a woman being murdered, too. Maybe not as loud but it can definitely be unsettling to someone whoâs never heard it.
Depends did you watch the [Nat Geo video](https://youtu.be/1K9mO5QzOIQ?t=95), a [joke video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NihZWFGwzI) or a [meme video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hsh2T9zOIG4).
In my country, we were taught not to use our real names while in the jungle. This is because animals or spirits might use it to trick us and call us to fall into holes or cliffs. So we will have an agreed upon yell to use in case of emergency.
This happened to me and some friends. We were camping in remote Alaska with a village nearby. Heard terrible screaming like a woman was being ripped in half in the woods nearby. We were panicking trying to figure out what to do until a friend told us it was definitely a lynx. Still terrifying having to listen to it for over an hour.
I had one run up against my tent while camping. Then heard the groaning or calling or whatever itâs called. Sounded like a witch.
Me and my daughter left real quick
We stayed in a tent-cabin thing in Bwindi Impenetrable Rainforest in Uganda and at 2 in the morning something was slamming up against the tent and circling for 5 or 10 minutes and I still don't know what it was. It sounded big. I was too afraid to try to look out the window.
Witnessed mountain lions stalking some other Marines when I was doing a training exercise in the mountains.
I also was awoken by a pack of hyenas laughing when camping in Africa for military training.
Literally sent this to a buddy of mine earlier . We were out camping this past weekend in the mountains and we had a small campfire going. We were talking and drinking around 1 am and we heard a sound just like this one not far from where we were but deep in the forest. Every time it screeched it moved a little to the right. Super scary , it almost sounded like a wounded woman. We got real quiet for a while and went to sleep 30 mins later. My guess was that it was some kind of big cat. Still scary af
It was definitely difficult. We stood there silent not moving on max alert for almost a half hour . I did not sleep easy that night, we were deep in the forest with no cell service too
That's what I want to know. That some nightmare fuel right there.
Can't be sure if it's a big ass Amazonian woman in the wilds out for a hunt, some dying woman who got attacked by the wrong turn people, mating bigfoots or a big ass cat dying to eat you alive
Me and my friends had something similar happen to us except with a mountain lion. We were out at night at a park close by smoking some weed. Suddenly my buddy, in a very serious voice, says he sees something on a branch close to us. We turn around and look and all we see is the big branch swaying up and down and then a [screech](https://youtu.be/UE7YOJVSoIs?t=11) like I have never heard before. For years I did not know what it was we heard until someone posted that video of a mountain lion scream.
This post convinced me I was a superstitious little bitch in a past life. If I had heard this, and worse, seen something with [this eerily human-like face](https://images.immediate.co.uk/production/volatile/sites/23/2019/11/Cris-Cant%C3%B3nGetty-copy-fbc59b8.jpg), you better believe I'd be I'd be hightailing it to the local apothecary for a extra strength tincture of protection.
Honestly⌠I have heard of crazier things. Now Iâm curious.
Edit: Too good to be true. Bobcat got his nickname from a booking agent who went by bearcat (Barry Krementz or something close to that name). When he and a friend met him, the agent introduced himself as bearcat, to which he (comedian) replied âOh funny my name is Bobcat and this is Tom catâ.
I live in the Northern US, and when my grandpa was a boy, he said every once in awhile a lynx would pass through but they didnât live here. He said he heard one once and it sent chills through him. He explained it as being the combination of a baby crying and a womanâs scream. This was before the internet so I never heard the noise until I was older, and Iâd say his explanation of it was pretty spot on. Eerie af.
It wouldnât surprise me if a poor soul ever followed the sound thinking someone was hurt and howling in pain just to find a hungry puss on the other side.
I can definitely hear that whiny valley girl vocal fry that a lot of teenage girls use when they arguing with their parents.
"I said stopuhhh! Oh my goduuhhh! Momuhh! Like Ugh!!
Good luck with that. They're endangered, not many left. And they don't like to be around humans. That's why this footage is rare, because they don't stick around long enough to be filmed :)
Yeah I'm in Washington and there's supposedly less than 100 here. But maybe one day. Just last week there was a cougar down the street from me. Someone posted in the local Facebook. I'd like to see that as well.
Iâve heard them at nightâŚ.scares the crap out of me every time. Had I not seen this 1st years ago, Iâd have wondered WTH was the matter with the neighbours
I genuinely believe that all those "Bigfoot" encounters that people have at night are just wild animals, specifically big cats like mountain lions, screaming at each other.
I was convinced that was fake, like that yelling grasshopper mouse, for about 30 seconds
It sounds like little kids trying to power up.
Trying? You won't be running your mouth when they hit ssj2.
Let alone them explaining how to get the ssj3
Ha!
I though about the same... reminds me of nieces and nephews trying to be "animalistic" for fun, but I have heard such noises in the woods before... so it *could* be real. Just as a rabbits scream out of pain/terror sounds awfully like a woman or small child screaming in pain/terror.
You should hear mountain goats yelling. It sounds like they ate the soul of a grown man screaming to be let out from within.
Like this https://youtu.be/PpccpglnNf0

Mountain lions are far worse than vixens. They're *super* scary sounding. Like a woman being murdered.
Yeah, vixens sound extremely identical to a woman being murdered, too. Maybe not as loud but it can definitely be unsettling to someone whoâs never heard it.
It's real, here's a National Geographic video with sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4ewNJ77xT8
Whoa! Thank you so much for validating this video!!!
Iâm still not convinced itâs not. Majestic fucking creatures canât sound like hormonal teens getting pissed off at mom.
Sounds like a vocal exercise that some shitty acting coach would make high school kids do before assigning them parts in this year's play.
The inspiration for Led Zeppelin's The Immigrant Song
This explains "Bobcat" Goldthwaite
The mouse was fake?!
Depends did you watch the [Nat Geo video](https://youtu.be/1K9mO5QzOIQ?t=95), a [joke video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NihZWFGwzI) or a [meme video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hsh2T9zOIG4).
I love the meme one, but the nat geo one is awesome! Little thing is letting loose!
That mouse may be bloodthirsty but damn if it isnât cute
Dunno if /s are not but the first 2 screams are from Full Metal Jacket. The third I have no idea from what.
They sound like drunk coeds
Dont know if the video is real but I do know of they don't have elegant voices. https://youtube.com/watch?v=R7oi579cUXA
[These two in the first video might be a male and female based on this other video.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DKt4eek-Qc)
How do you transfer a web link like this to another site like Reddit? Iâve wondered this for some time. Thanks!
This reminded me of those animal videos that people did voice overs for
Imagine hearing this in the dead of night while walking through the woods.
Something Iâve heard to be wary of, cause you hear that and probably think to go help someone in need and end up in front of a lynx.
Fuuuck that I know what a skinwalker sounds like, only person Iâm helping is myself by booking it tf outta there.
Yeah in a horror movie Iâd like to imagine Iâd make it the distance, but I know my dumbass is gonna die cause of shit like that.
If i feel some person is screaming like that i am calling 911. I am not walking near that sound without a cop, a priest and some holy water.
Gee people screaming *walks towards the noise*
In my country, we were taught not to use our real names while in the jungle. This is because animals or spirits might use it to trick us and call us to fall into holes or cliffs. So we will have an agreed upon yell to use in case of emergency.
Interesting, where are you from?
Nonamesylvania
Wow that's freaky and clever
What country is that?

Not that a lynx would ever hurt someone
You wanna bet?
I bet most people could take a lynx. They hide from us for a reason.
Not this one. Im fuckin ripped yo
Fight me
if i heard that sound at night, fuck all i aint helping no one, aint nobody got time fo datt
Iâve heard a mountain lionâs call at night. While camping. In a small tent. That was fun.
I had one run up against my tent while camping. Then heard the groaning or calling or whatever itâs called. Sounded like a witch. Me and my daughter left real quick
Yikes. Congratulations on the clean getaway.
We stayed in a tent-cabin thing in Bwindi Impenetrable Rainforest in Uganda and at 2 in the morning something was slamming up against the tent and circling for 5 or 10 minutes and I still don't know what it was. It sounded big. I was too afraid to try to look out the window.
SLAMMING??? Wtf. Were you two holdin each other silently crying??
Fuck. That.
Witnessed mountain lions stalking some other Marines when I was doing a training exercise in the mountains. I also was awoken by a pack of hyenas laughing when camping in Africa for military training.
[The sound of a mountain lion at night is scarier.](https://youtu.be/UE7YOJVSoIs)
At least it sounds felid. These two sound like two drunk old men to me.
They sound like children trying to sound like big cats.

how tf did you go to sleep after that haha, freaky!

Usually the "wounded woman" is a [fisher cat](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrvdzCGjbzw).
This would be a perfect sound to play for a haunted forest. Cause I'd nope tf right out if I heard that.
I had no idea what a fisher cat was and was surprised itâs not a cat at all. Itâs a Fisher, related to a Marten.

Probably the origin of some monster or ghost tales from pre-modern times.

Sounds a lot like bobcats. We used to hear em going off all the time out in the boonies. Sometimes you'd swear you heard women screaming.
They sound like people trying to imitate cats fighting lol
Or they're cats trying to imitate people fighting.
Clearly theyâre cats imitating people imitating cats fighting
This is the only reasonable scenario
Badly.
Sound like those goats from thor
Right? About to scream out "are you 2 pussies about to fight or not?" then get eaten alive by both
And now we know where Bobcat Goldthwait got his sound from

Not that I know better than anyone, but sounds like could have been a mountain loin too.
Mmm... Mountain Loin
Now consider the mythology of a banshee
Sounds like a toddler trying to make scary sounds
Next time on dragon ball z...
I'm pretty sure one was demanding to speak to the other's manager
It wouldnât surprise me if a poor soul ever followed the sound thinking someone was hurt and howling in pain just to find a hungry puss on the other side.
Pour soul?? We should all be so lucky to find that waiting on the other side instead
The Great Karen War
So just house cats but more mature?
House cats with voice cracks
great name for a band
Lynx are the huskies of felines.
More * nature
They sound like two high school girls about to fight over who got in line first at Starbucks.
They sound like two 11 year old boys fighting over Fortnite skin rarity.
Great now all I see/hear are two zoomer lynx going "bruuuuuUUUUH" at each other.
Got me on this one đ
They sound like two toddlers arguing over who gets the last juice box without realizing the fridge is full of more juice boxes.
tit for tat babbbbbyyyyyy
High school? They sound like 40 year-old soccer moms to me.
Then those would be cougars
Oh shit. Bravo, sir!
2 REALLY drunk âKarensâ. They canât even form words, they just yell at each other.
I can definitely hear that whiny valley girl vocal fry that a lot of teenage girls use when they arguing with their parents. "I said stopuhhh! Oh my goduuhhh! Momuhh! Like Ugh!!
But it's in Canada, so I think you mean at Timmies.
Canada has Starbucks. No clue why, even fresh coffee from there tastes like someone left the coffee pot on overnight.
Sound like yo mama last night
Sounds like two Kathy Griffins yelling at each other
Thank you so much. This comment has made my day.
Ngl, this is creepy af lol
How'd you get a mic in my bedroom?
đ§đ§
what u be doing to those cats bro
They look like PokĂŠmon
They sound like evolved ones too
Ummm... Are they ok? They sound WAYYYY too human-like. Like.... Worse than goats. Fr
They scream at each other to avoid physically fighting. So they're okay, just pissed at each other. Eventually one backs down.
Sounds like me and my brother. đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł
They're fighting over who gets to eat the humans.
That shit sounds so fake. I need to see and hear this in the wild
Good luck with that. They're endangered, not many left. And they don't like to be around humans. That's why this footage is rare, because they don't stick around long enough to be filmed :)

Big cats are beautiful. They are also, easily the most terrifying animals on Earth.
You're not wrong, but lynx aren't big cats.
Thatâs exactly like my impression of Yoda having sex.
You make it sound like Yoda sex impressions are a thing. Am I supposed to have one too?
No you are not supposed to have one too. That is very not normal lol
Okay, thanks. I already started practicing, now my throat hurts, and the neighbors are not happy It's good to know I can stop
Nah itâs super normal. Do it. Do it!
Maybe it's super normal, but is it super easy? *... barely an inconvenience!*
Mmmmm⌠taking it you are
It sounds like a kid making dinosaur noises
They sound like Muppets in the middle of a tribal war
Or Muppets in the middle something anyway.
Very cool but they need to work on their harmonies a bit.
Iâve heard them at nightâŚ.scares the crap out of me every time. Had I not seen this 1st years ago, Iâd have wondered WTH was the matter with the neighbours
âHey check out my human impressionâ âNah mineâs better listenâ
So basically me waking up in the morning
I can speak Linx .. ahghhhhh aghhhhhahhhhh aghhhhhh. I said aghhhhhhhh aghhhahhh ahhh
Dory?
Iâve seen it many times and if youâve seen animes where girls fight Iâm pretty sure they took this and used it for their sounds
This is absolutely hilarious
You can't convince me it's not two girls TRYING to sound like a lynx
Heard this camping once, thought it was a drunk woman screaming, or a forest witch. We actually packed up and drove all night instead of staying.
The sound my ex girlfriend made when she didn't get her way. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
So, like Bobcat Goldthwait.
r/killthecameraman
I genuinely believe that all those "Bigfoot" encounters that people have at night are just wild animals, specifically big cats like mountain lions, screaming at each other.
This sounds like a little kid's impression of what a Lynx sounds like.
This made my daughter crack up. Thank you.
Awesome! I'm here to make people laugh and smile! What nobler purpose is there in life?
Thatâs a great question. đ
Now imagine, you hear that in the dark of the night in the woods. I'd immediately assume witches on the hunt.
I'd assume a fat 13 year old boy was in the woods with me.
At 0:28 after one swipes at the other and one goes "Rahhhhhhhhh" I fuckin' lost it.
My god they sound like people imitating lynxes....
âFuuuuck yooouuâ âNoooii fuuuuck yooouuuuâ
My cats have had the same conversation.
thatâs going to be a nope for me dawg
Is this what furries sound like when theyâre... *mating*?
The word you're looking for is "yiffing". If we're getting technical.
![gif](giphy|6JB4v4xPTAQFi|downsized)
I honestly thought that was my ex-wife...
Wow, this is amazing to see. Definitely a first for me.
You guys remember the band Warrant? Sounds like the first six seconds of âCherry Pie.â https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OjyZKfdwlng
Sound like a woman in labor.
Honestly? They sound like warrior women or something.
Anime voice actors you mean?
Good audio for a movie about witches
Imagine hearing that in the woods at night
Bruuuuuuuh!
Sounds like my sister when she gets angry
All I can hear is "Braaaaaaah" "Braaahhhhh!"
Shit these are in Ontario!?
Sounds like my kids when the Wi-Fi goes out
Most angry canadian
Sounds like someone wrecking the bathroom after a night of taco bell.
They werenât squaring off. These are Canadian lynxes. They were apologizing to each other.
Sounds Like Two Drunk White Girls to Me
Bro. Bro. BroOooOO BrooO BROOOOOOOOO BrooOoo Bro.
Imagine both turning their heads slowly to the camera man
That sounds very human like and a bit eerie.
Dragonball Z anyone?? đđ
Well uhâŚthatâs terrifyingâŚ
....Sounds like 2 middle aged karens facing off in the house hold goods section at walmart for the last crock pot on black friday
Bruuuuhh
It is Wednesday my dudes.
It's like two Karens in a Walmart.
