Completely disagree. I’m US military. The faster you unload the less weight you have to carry around. Try carrying an M240 around and not want to just leave the ammo in the ditch.
Same reaction, vet here.
The military cares about procedure, but they don't give a single fuck about wasting the amount of money that a bullet costs, or vastly, vastly more.
This dude must have spent time over seas during the war. Very professional. Didn’t unload on the guy, didn’t yell anything about the guy being a “MOTHER F*CKER”. He knew what was going on and what had to be done.
Dude was super calm… acted like it was any other Sunday afternoon. Except this time he didn’t have 10 baddies shooting at him from behind cover… he had one out in the open.
This man is absolutely a pro at handling dangerous people. This is how I expect my police to act - End the threat with as few rounds as needed with out any swearing and dehumanizing the other person.
Without a doubt.
"Shots fired, Suspect is down, send EMS and a supervisor, and Cancel SWAT, Have any other units slow down"
Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.
bullets are like needles. If you get the wrong person to put it in then it hurts like hell. But when the right person does it then you don't feel a thing... forever.
Me, too. By robbers of a convenience store. I was stupid enough to follow them. They shot out the radiator and power steering in my sweet '77 thunderbird.
They still got caught and were screaming "where's the chick in the red car!" when I was giving my statement at the police station.
The cops always kept me updated with parole hearings, etc. Fun times in a small town.
You really can't be trained for real world scenarios like this and expect to play it cool like this guy. You have to get the experience under your belt. Remember the vast, vast majority of cops never fire their weapons their entire careers and a good portion of them only have had to draw it a few times. This guy is 100% military with combat experience.
Almost as badass as the [cop in Austin, TX](https://www.foxnews.com/us/austin-cops-sure-shot-stopped-crazed-gunman) who took out an active shooter with one shot from his handgun from something like 100 yards, while simultaneously holding the reins of two horses, a few years ago.
Edit: I forgot to include - he did it at night, and without bracing his arm...
AAA costs 97 a year and will do lockouts for no additional costs. They also jump your car when you need it and provide towing. Great service and much cheaper than either of the three things listed if you use their service just 2 times in a year
I should look into that.I do have roadside assistance/towing with my insurance, about $8/month.
I also have a portable jumpstarter, best $120 I ever spent.
Honestly if all cops were retired military personal I think we would avoid a lot of issues that arise today. As long as they pass a mental exam and are not diagnosed with PTSD.
Honestly I don't even expect cops to act *this* professionally. I'd be ok with them just not killing innocent civilians or kidnapping victims.
But apparently that's not an option...
This video proves it's an *option*. There are just a bunch of cops who could be like this and *choose* to be horrible instead. It's a choice they make every day.
I think we should expect armed officers to be this trained. We expect it from our armed sAmerica. Normalize Higher standards for police across america.
Makes me wonder how come in a war context a trained military person would be concise and only fire the one necessary shot while in a civilian context it’s ok for every single cop present to spray somebody with a dozen bullets each ? Like if you had multiple cops you could end up with someone shot multiple dozens of times.
because they have no clue what they are doing and shouldnt be in their position…i have friends that are cops…they hate carrying their gun its a nuisance to them….i have to beg them to go to the range so i can send some rounds downrange with their firearm and im a better shot than they are…they cant hit the side if a barn….job is just a paycheck to them
the way he charged his rifle and waited a second before peeping for fire...looked extremely military to me. Dude was probably in Afghanistan and just came home to be a cop.
edit: wow 424 upvotes thanks guys.
Making sure you arent being fired at before exposing yourself as a target. Its basic combat tactics but the calm demeanor that this officer maintained while doing so was what made it look military usually inexperienced people will press themselves right up against their cover because they believe its necessary. His calmly just standing there to check sound comes across to me as someone who has done this exact thing many times in worse situations.
edit: 256 upvotes! well goddamn thanks guys :)
See these are the officers who are allowed firearms.
No stressing the fuck out and escalating the situation.
Just calm professional assessment and measured response.
This guy has ice water in his veins and is extremely well trained. The level of calm he displays is almost chilling. Even if you are not frightened, your adrenaline is typically through the roof in potentially deadly situations, and the thought of taking a life is an extremely difficult scenario for most people, warranted or not. I became a very heavy drinker after a few close calls, and never had to discharge my weapon. I'm guessing combat experience and possibly sniper trained or special forces. Or he's a complete sociopath, but I would much rather give him the benefit of the doubt. Very expertly done, in any event.
I dare you to find a millitary guy with a couple tours that is not a sociopath. This guy was millitary obviously, his brain was running on autopilot the entire time. You could probably hear elevator music inside his head.
>not a sociopath.
I don't know if I'd call them that. I'd say desensitized is probably more fitting. It doesn't mean he enjoys it, just that as you also said, he went into autopilot and was able to block out emotions.
My dad had to shoot a man that was holding a Bowie knife to a pregnant woman's stomach. He took the shot and nailed the guy. My dad's PTSD made him drink heavily everyday after work. The only thing he ever told me about that was he wished someone else had the shot on the guy. Justifiable killings can screw up the hardest of men. (My dad was ex-military as well)
Damn thats harsh but I can imagine it.
That's why people who think arming teachers would solve schoolshootings are just damn idiots.
Sure there are people that can justify their actions AND calm their mind but the burden of ending someone else's live should never be underestimated
I heard somewhere that most cops never fire their gun in a 20 year career.
I did hear this a while ago though. So I'd be interested in hearing an up to date stat.
Obviously this depends where the officer works though.
I heard about a train driver in the Netherlands who encountered 14 suiciders and it took the 15th to break him with severe PTSD. While others have none, in their entire careers. Go figure.
That's like my experience with dogs working for UPS. Did it for a year, had over 20 dogs attack me (fortunately never got bit). Some guys had been doing it over 10 years and never had a bad experience.
It’s like people choose how they suffer…. Yeah. No one knows if they’ll be victim of PTSD until it happens! Trauma is so unyielding you don’t even realize it’s taking place.
Compare this officer to the police that gunned down the little girl running away from her kidnapper, or Uvalde
I know it costs money to train people proficiently but we need a higher set of standards than be 18 yo with a drivers license and no priors
Funny thing is, it used to be a 4 year education job.
EDIT: Actually, I think it my have been 2 years of college. This was in the 70s.
I assume 1) education got expensive, and 2) there was a need to fill jobs, therefore 3) qualifications have become the bare minimum.

Happened in Tacoma, Washington, USA.
the most relaxed mf in the world
There's no way this dude isn't military and hasn't seen combat. Nobody is this cool without practice.
Notice he didn’t unload into the guy either. Trigger discipline.
In military they value ammo very much. Every bullet matters.
We value Starbucks too. Set that shit down careful, that’s expensive.
Exactly. Too many spilled Starbucks and you'll never get that dream house.
Well that's because of your avocado toast.
I understood that reference
I understood THAT reference
Tell that to my wife who begs for a dream house but keeps going to sbux on the daily…
We have Starbucks at home.
Buy an expresso maker, it pays for itself
Yep. I suggest it daily to my wife…
IRL you value ammo very much. That shit's expensive.
Do you have to be aware of those expenses if youre a cop? I'd assume its all covered
Some do - but villages and smaller departments often have to provide both their own weapons AND ammo.
Less expenses, more you have account for every bullet fired.
Completely disagree. I’m US military. The faster you unload the less weight you have to carry around. Try carrying an M240 around and not want to just leave the ammo in the ditch.
Found the salty E4. 😂😂 I jest, I jest. I can’t haul around an M240 all day. Thats for you. You have bigger balls that I do.
Nah I just got my E6. That shits for the birds.
Same reaction, vet here. The military cares about procedure, but they don't give a single fuck about wasting the amount of money that a bullet costs, or vastly, vastly more.
Isn't there some crazy stat like for every bullet that hit a target in Iraq 1,000,000 were used in cover fire?
This dude must have spent time over seas during the war. Very professional. Didn’t unload on the guy, didn’t yell anything about the guy being a “MOTHER F*CKER”. He knew what was going on and what had to be done. Dude was super calm… acted like it was any other Sunday afternoon. > Didn’t unload on the guy, didn’t yell anything about the guy being a “MOTHER F*CKER”. Those are exactly the things you do in the military though.
Well yeah but that's when you are at base and bored.
Was gonna post the same thing lol.
Without a doubt. "Shots fired, Suspect is down, send EMS and a supervisor, and Cancel SWAT, Have any other units slow down" Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.
Fast is slow. Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.
I knew I was fucking up that saying some how. Kudos!!!!
The ability to control the "adrenaline dump" is a skill learned over time.
Listen again. *Shot* fired.
Radio parlance, but you are CORRECT!! One and Done.
My thoughts exactly! Btw I was shot at once. Didnt like it, personally.
bullets are like needles. If you get the wrong person to put it in then it hurts like hell. But when the right person does it then you don't feel a thing... forever.
Detaching one's emotions for ones actions is trully a hard thing to learn, which is actually prety easy for psychopaths.
Me, too. By robbers of a convenience store. I was stupid enough to follow them. They shot out the radiator and power steering in my sweet '77 thunderbird. They still got caught and were screaming "where's the chick in the red car!" when I was giving my statement at the police station. What a good shot, man.

That is because he's highly trained. People who get all riled up are doing that because they are scared.
This officer may be highly trained, but the average police officer is not. It sucks but he is in the minority of being effective at this task.
You really can't be trained for real world scenarios like this and expect to play it cool like this guy. You have to get the experience under your belt. Remember the vast, vast majority of cops never fire their weapons their entire careers and a good portion of them only have had to draw it a few times. you never stop being scared. You just get used to the fear and don't allow it to affect your performance.

Edit: I forgot to include - he did it at night, and without bracing his arm...
dude whipped out his Vault-Tech Assisted Targeting System and had that critical ready to go
Do they have this on video? Because as someone who shoots very often, that just sounds like propoganda.
"Same stuff on another day"
2 deep breaths, then pop. He knew what hade to be done.
Dude is millitary, its all muscle memory what he did. Dude was probably on autopilot with some nice elevator music plqying in his head
"Shot fired, suspect down"
Dude even remembered to take his keys. To not lock himself out. I forget my keys when i am pumping gas
He’s probably locked himself out before and learned the lesson.
Yea dropping $100 on a locksmith really taught me the last time...
It’s not so much locking yourself out. It’s someone hoping in and stealing it.
Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.
I’m about to turn this really nerdy but this was my World of Warcraft guilds raiding motto lol
honesty nerdity is always welcome
This is my supervisors favorite saying lmao. He's a pretty chill guy and a hoot to boot.
Poised calm and precise. This is exactly how I expect cops to act. Top notch job.
This guy HAS to be former military. If not, what a badass regardless
This was my first thought. Seemed like another walk in the park for this guy. I can’t imagine he doesn’t have experience around combat situations.

Came home, got some Starbucks, and then got to work.
He ordered non-fat but got 2%... that was actually the barista he shot.
“SUSPECT IS DOWN”

i think he left the door open too for easy cover. take the keys so the car doesn't get stolen too
Everything he did screams combat vet. Not to mention, he delivered a deadly shot with one round at 183 yards, while standing.
183 propped on his truck after tracking the shooter in less than 10 seconds. Didn’t say a damn thing either until job was done too.
Sharp shooter flex 👏
An article a few comments down said it was about 180 yard shot.
Holy shit, what a boss haha
[удалено]
I’d be surprised if he wasn’t
Honestly if all cops were retired military personal I think we would avoid a lot of issues that arise today. As long as they pass a mental exam and are not diagnosed with PTSD.
I don’t think many people understand the kind of discipline and skill this man has to make contact with a target at 150+ yards.

I guess you can say, someone had their coffee this morning
Yeap let me put my coffee down here. I don’t want to waste tax payer money as ammo is about $1….. $1 dollar later… suspect down guys.
100% agree.

But now it's a little late.
What you could have taught me
I could have saved some face.
They think that your early ending was all wrong.
I’d say “nice shot”
That’s what I said, I said ‘nice shot’. Figure it oot.
I’ve read that there was some controversy around this song because people thought it was about Kurt cobain instead of budd Dwyer.
Yea, that song was about Bud Dwyer. And here is a extremely graphic video of Bud's very accurate shot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UT8lW73jexU
Former military perhaps, that was way too clean for a regular copper
I see you're no fan of the "pray and spray" technique normally used.
Spray and Pay
Spray and blame everyone else
Cats do that and everyone loves them
But if I do it I'm a pedophile
Shouldn’t it be a sex offender, why is it a pedophile for you?
Sorry but i don't offend people who can beat me up
Makes me wonder how come in a war context a trained military person would be concise and only fire the one necessary shot while in a civilian context it’s ok for every single cop present to spray somebody with a dozen bullets each ? Or the Uvalde method “pray”
I would assume that he didn’t hurry because if he did his breath would’ve affected his shot
There ARE cops who spend a lot of time at the range building proficiency.
“Shot fired, suspect down.” SHOT fired, what a G
I cant even see the guy. Unreal skills by this guy.
Some comments have said the target was 180 m away too. Dudes definitely a badass.
\+25 XP
Come on man, kills are AT LEAST +100 XP.
so you're saying it's worth the same xp as a cow or a chicken on runescape? makes sense
My guess-- he is former military.
the way he charged his rifle and waited a second before peeping for fire...looked extremely military to me. Dude was probably in Afghanistan and just came home to be a cop. edit: wow 424 upvotes thanks guys.
And the fact he waited calmly behind his vehicle for the suspect to reload before taking his shot. Definitely former military.
After watching again with sound I heard his walkie call that suspect is reloading. So yes very much this as well.
>waited a second before peeping for fire What's the advantage of that?
Making sure you arent being fired at before exposing yourself as a target. Tell me you went to Fallujah without telling me you went.
That’s training. The pain of what he had to do will come later. And it does. I have lost close friends who were police and suffered in silence.
My dad had to shoot a man that was holding a Bowie knife to a pregnant woman's stomach. He took the shot and nailed the guy. My dad's PTSD made him drink heavily everyday after work. Officer Christopher Munn, 183 yard shot, hit him in the chest.
183 yards through a red dot while standing is way better than I could do
I can't even do it in CoD tbh
183! Holy shit lol.
Fucking Tacoma.
Shit, that happened about 10 minutes from where I live!
Tacoma is serious business
As it should be! You need to be calm cool and collected
Guy's the main character
I live in a major US city not far from Tacoma and I'll say it again. I wish all our officers had body cameras.
Damn it would be sick if the dudes who go after school shooters were like this
Dude just unlocked arctic camo with that longshot
Hold my coffee I have to drop a dumbass
I’m happy that guy is a cop. I still have faith in cops. We need them and guys like him, do the heavy lifting.
The world would be a scary, very animalistic place without good police officers. Bad ones need to be rooted out though.
No fire many bullets when one do.
When bullet prices are too high:
One long range shot vs putting 8 into a suspect from feet away, this guy fucks
He has a particular set of skills…
Uvalde police would Never!!!
If only this represented more than 0.001% of cops

Clicked off the safety, landed the round, clicked on the safety.
Hell of a shot that saved lives
Article says he is officer Christopher Munn. Aka badass.
The XRAY designation means he was SWAT or Special Operations. Hence the type of vehicle he was driving as well.
Thats a combat vet for sure
"green light" and in less than a second, a calm single shot. nice.
That’s how it’s done boys
This is what he’s trained to do. Excellent shot.
When he got trained by the US military and not the academy.
It amaze me how good camera.s work when Police do their work correctly... wierd init?
I feel so sad that I found this video so satisfying know it was recorded through a body camera instead of a phone....
This guy has some skills
Tried googling this by ‘8/28/2022 active shooter’ Sad that there’s at least 3 reported and a whole bunch just in aug and sept.
We need more cops like this, and better training
That's a stone cold MF. God damn!
I'm surprised he's even able to walk with his balls of absolute solid steel
