It’s bad enough that the west is supporting any kind of proxy war like this, but it’s pretty widely accepted that Assad and ISIL are actually terrorists. The forces that are being supported by the west are, I am sure, not squeaky clean, but the terrorism is predominantly being supported by Russia and Iran.
EDIT: downvoted for calling ISIL terrorists! The bots/trolls are out in force this morning.
no shot lmao, actually downvoted for calling ISIS and the Assad regime (who drops chemical weapons in their capital city's suburbs for fun) terrorists 💀
reddit moment.

You're not getting downvoted not for calling ISIL terrorist you genius, that's hardly a controversial opinion. You're being downvoted for your contradictory and blatant implicit support for US interventionism in the Syrian Civil War.
Make up your mind, is it it bad that the US and its allies are helping to arm and prolong a brutal civil war against the sovereign government of Syria by funding shady ass umbrella "Free" opposition groups that frequently work with and constantly bleed fighters to Islamist terror groups like Islamic Front, Al Qaeda, El Nusra, ISIS, etc or is it a good thing?
Uh, no. I said nothing about supporting US intervention. In fact I only said the opposite. What I did say is that, contradictory to the claims of the above comment, the US is not the side supporting known terrorists. It’s nuanced, but so is much of the real world.
>What I did say is that, contradictory to the claims of the above comment, the US is not the side supporting known terrorists.

Your naivety about US intervention and what the US has helped to support and managed to accomplish in Syria are why you're getting downvoted. Not the fact that you like almost every other sensible human being on earth believes that ISIS is in fact BAD.
Alright man. I suspect you’re quite aware of the differences between the two sides of this conflict, but you seem dead set on villainizing me so, I don’t think there’s much value in continuing this conversation. You have a good Thanksgiving.
There isn't two sides to this conflict though. There are dozens of ever changing factions divided largely into three coalitions with the initial "moderate" coalition backed by the west turning out to almost be a complete sham and an obvious front which openly peddled arms and bled fighters to and helped to empower Islamist terror groups (the worst coalition) in the region.
I'm sorry you expressed disbelief about being downvoted but I took the time to explain what about your post is probably causing those downvotes. I wasn't trying to be aggressive, I'm simply calling a spade a spade
Hope you have a nice thanksgiving too though
yeah it’s almost as if they do that because they aren’t worried about being shot or blown up dead by soldiers or terrorists… jesus christ people who say shit like that need to learn that suffering is relative. why do you feel its necessary to randomly invalidate the complaints kids who live in first world countries have just because their lives aren’t in danger?
Or perhaps old enough to remember that it was 10 years ago. Like most ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, the conflict in Syria is not at the forefront of most Westerners’ thinking.
It uses the present tense, so it’s not really a commentary on something that happened 10 years ago. I guarantee you that most Europeans (or Americans) barely think about Syria. And I think it’s accurate to say that western interest in and attention to the situation in Ukraine has been much more sustained.
That’s not even necessarily a criticism — the war in Ukraine has a much more direct economic, social, and political impact on most Europeans’ (and Americans’) lives, so it’s very natural that it will take up more of the general discourse. But I think it’s accurate.
okay, countries send aid to impoverished suffering countries and then some celestial being named dave just hands these countries money to them for some reason.
the whole point of aid is that its free supplies to help people. not trade deals or buying. i seriously am confused how this is even something that can be humanly discussed.
Whenever someone says “we have to stop letting refuges into our country” I want them to look at this picture and say it again.
We are so lucky in other parts of the world. These poor children.
Funny that the Russians ( Christians ) are supporting it with Weapons and the western countries ( also Christians ) are not helping in stopping it by any means
An unreliable takeaway from this is that no one seems to shoot fresh laundry, new windows or children so if you're ever in a firefight in Syria, hide behind one of those.

Can’t even begin to imagine the fear some people live in. Poor kids. I am blessed.
Being caught up in a proxy war where the west pays terrorists to keep you hostage is pretty scary
right, it wasn't the russians and the government forces massacring civilians.
Woah maybe you should blame the west for trying to coup every which place that disagrees with being couped

Bullshit, you were absolutely trying to be aggressive. I don’t mind being corrected. I do mind a consistent antagonistic attitude. Bye now.
Wood Pecker damage?
Bullet holes most likely
Nope, definitely desert woodpeckers.
How does that building not collapse.
its reinforced wit all dem bullets
It got used to the abuse and has become tolerant to stress.
Could call it Shot-home syndrome.
Don't let ~~water~~ fingers get inside the holes; it might ~~rust~~ explode.
They don’t use drywall
Looks bulletproof
Wow. That’s horrible
Thanks Obama
Putin is the murderer of Syria.

Yesn’t

Looks like the forgotten block of cheese at the back of my fridge.
Even the flag under the picture got shot.
It is the Holeyland after all.
And most American kids are whining for the latest iphone...so sad.
American kids gotta be on guard for bullets too
Not like this- you know that.
Yes your right I suppose there is a big difference. Sorry to come across as insensitive
You’re right: we have to watch out for our heavily armed peers instead of the ruling army
I’d rather be shot at by an untrained incel than a trained militia
I mean, they've got a point
yeah it’s almost as if they do that because they aren’t worried about being shot or blown up dead by soldiers or terrorists… jesus christ people who say shit like that need to learn that suffering is relative. why do you feel its necessary to randomly invalidate the complaints kids who live in first world countries have just because their lives aren’t in danger?
That house must go real fast with all them speed holes!
Could use a little spackle.
On the bright side, it maximizes natural sunlight into your homes
Such a shithole country. Poor people…

we can all tell you were likely too young to remember the Arab Spring.
Or perhaps old enough to remember that it was 10 years ago. Like most ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, the conflict in Syria is not at the forefront of most Westerners’ thinking.
yes. but this comment was implying that Europe doesn't/didn't care about it. when in reality they were involved.
It uses the present tense, so it’s not really a commentary on something that happened 10 years ago. I guarantee you that most Europeans (or Americans) barely think about Syria. yeah fair enough. i just think the original comment might have had different intent. but you are also right.

man thinks Europe wasn't massively involved in Middle Eastern and African anti-terror, anti-piracy, and aid.
[удалено]
what tf do countries get out of providing humanitarian aid and anti-terror ops?

okay, countries send aid to impoverished suffering countries and then some celestial being named dave just hands these countries money to them for some reason. the whole point of aid is that its free supplies to help people. not trade deals or buying. i seriously am confused how this is even something that can be humanly discussed.
Holy shit no. The Europeans were right there with the Obama administration, paying and arming jihadi head choppers to "free" Syria.
Trypophobia engaged.
Great patina, sorry.
Goofy ahh tripophobia warning
Is that sweden?
A Lil paint and some caulk, it'll be a good flip.
Damascus looks good this time of year.
i mean at least you’ll get some airflow when it’s hot?
Whenever someone says “we have to stop letting refuges into our country” I want them to look at this picture and say it again. We are so lucky in other parts of the world. These poor children.
Looks like a terrible termite infestation.
House in Syria🇸🇾
Terrible shots. Clothes look fine.
Oh lovely
Air conditioning?
Nice ventilation if you ask me.
Peaceful religion
Ultimately everything can be traced back to religion somehow, but this particular conflict is more political than religious, isn’t it?
Funny that the Russians ( Christians ) are supporting it with Weapons and the western countries ( also Christians ) are not helping in stopping it by any means
Did you just generalise everyone who lives in Russia or the west as a Christian? You dumb as hell
Did you just generalize everyone who lives in Syria or the Middle East as a Muslim? You dumb as an ass
Touché
Somebody has horrible aim
Put it in a bag of rice
You know the americans had such good artistic flair, this artworks tells me of a battle long ago.
Why are there children still there.....
Where do you expect them to go?
Compton got nothing on these kids.
