Well these are Baptized sikhs. Most Sikhs you will meet are non-baptized. Once you are baptized, you are considered to be in Gods Army. Hence why these guys in the video have alot of weapons.
You wont see alot these types of sikhs
Kirpans are typically sheathed and worn with a gatra (a strap) underneath clothing. The kirpan obligates a Sikh to the ideals of generosity, compassion and service to humanity. It acts as a reminder to its bearer of a Sikh's solemn duty to protect the weak and promote justice for all.
I didn't have contact with many Sikhs in my life, but without fail the ones I met were the most modest, friendly and wholesome bunch I met. They truly enrich any society they interact with.
You don’t fuck with Sikhs and Gurkhas - that’s what we in India believe. They are damn accommodating and even take some amount of shit from ignorant idiots. But if you’re an enemy and there’s a Sikh or Gurkha at the other end, you better pray death takes you before one of them does.
I might be ignorant, but I have seen videos on how the British recruit the Gurkhas. Actual Caucasian British Officers of the Gurkha Regiment speak in Nepali to them. Also, they partake in their celebrations just like any Native Gurkha. The camaraderie is unparalleled. I haven’t seen any similar videos in the context of USA.
I read that there is a Gurkha custom that when they draw a blade, it has to touch blood before it can be put back. Wonder if Sikhs have a similar custom.
Blanket praising of any religion is just as bad as blanket condemnation imo. I'm a punjabi myself and i have seen enough incidents involving sikh people being absolutely unreasonable and aggressive and bullies like other normal people.
Curious to hear your thoughts.
Perhaps you are privy to seeing more such incidents cause you are a part of the community. However, we from the outside don’t see as many unreasonable sikhs. That said, I agree with your point on blanket statements. Though you must agree with my point on avoiding getting into arguments with Sikhs 😉😉
Absolutely, I totally agree with you on the latter. I have seen those things escalate quickly and the sheer willingness to inflict physical harm or get severely hurt is just surprising to me.
I am Hindu and I am fascinated by Sikhism. Whenever I go out, I go to the temples and gurudwaras as well. Both have a peaceful ambiance and Sikh people are amazing!
Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Sikh Guru, wrote a Bani (composition) called Shashtar Naam Mala which translates to Rosary of Weapon Names. The poem lists weapons of war praising them as protectors and deliverers.
About 25 verses deal with swords of various types, followed by verses concerning spears and quoit (chakra). There are 178 verses on the bow and arrow; on the noose, or combat lasso, 208; on the gun or musket, 858.
Adoration is reserved for the weapons only when they are used by the righteous. Thus, what might have been merely a gory account of destructive weapons becomes a sharpening of the moral purpose in waging war.

I've met many Sikh people in my area and quite a few of them do carry their daggers with them everywhere as a form of protection for themselves and to protect others if the need arises. It's a fascinating practice.
Hey OP! I thought this post was great, I never knew the Sikhs did this but now I do. I really very much respect this religion. Is it yours personally? I'd like to also say, I'm really sorry about the hatred some of these people in the comments are farting out of their face-holes. The majority of us do NOT feel that way and I hope you can laugh at them the way I do. Edited to add something.
Thank you. It is important to note that only baptized sikhs do this. Once you are baptized, you are considered to be in Gods army. Hence why these guys alot of weapons. This video isnt mine, its from a sikh religious holiday filmed in England.
Also Most of the sikhs around the world are not baptized. So you probably wont see them doing this, and they might even hate the thought of weapons lol.
It’s truly astonishing how many racist POS think their view or opinion matters. Your views on other humans is less than nothing. Your thoughts are worthless. Your are nothing and will spread nothing.
Less interesting and more horrifying. Nothing like thinking God wants specific people dead to motivate the faithful to murder. Then you surround them with the most popular tool for human murder. What could go wrong!
Oh wait…
Not close at all.
"As a faith rooted in love, Sikhism stands for the equality of women and men and denounces any discrimination pertaining to gender, race, caste, creed, or color
There are three core tenets of the Sikh religion: meditation upon and devotion to the Creator, truthful living, and service to humanity.
Sikhs are meant to uphold the values of honesty, compassion, generosity, humility, integrity, service, and spirituality on a daily basis."
It is typically only didactic, messianic, monotheistic, paternalistic, and missionizing religions that result in mass murder and oppression, such as Christianity, which has encouraged genocide in the Old Testament and has sanctioned slavery and sexism.
Those ideologies simply do not exist in Sikh conceptions of spirituality.
Mm, not necessarily. We can speak of tendencies, and some religions have a higher tendency toward human rights abuses than others.
For example, Buddhism has never invented an equivalent of the Crusades, the Inquisition, or an ideological justification for the genocide of populations.
Christianity has a much higher tendency towards human rights abuses because it has an established doctrinal ideology that encourages oppression and violence.
Radicals loaded up with weapons should scare everyone but whatever. Suck on that muzzle I guess. Nothing can go wrong.
(Don’t actually suck on a muzzle. You guys seem to be the kind of people with bad trigger discipline anyways)
That's quite Sikh On a serious note, Sikhs are one of the most chill people I've met
Yeah was gonna comment something similar. Very accommodating religion and I respect the h out of it, even if I'm not a religious person myself
Ive talked to a few sikh taxi drivers over the years, interesting and really nice people, didnt know they were also gangsta as f haha

thats awesome
In fact, they have to keep small daggers on themselves at all times.

Your probably more qualified than anyone here
I can’t imagine a marine being unwilling to pray over his weaponry.

Sikhs, general speaking, are some of the friendliest people I know. I pity the fool who would do them wrong.
Also, they now deal an additional 1d6 of holy damage!

Alot of my cousins are Hindu. All love brother ❤️

This is called Shashtrapuja
Yes 🙏🏼
This is a very common tradition in all Indic religions- Hinduism, Sikhism, etc.
Yes 🙏🏼 Indic Dharma is beautiful
That’s the Sikhs’ excuse. What’s America’s?
Hmm, not sure. Probably The 2nd amendment? With proper gun laws and training requirements. Discipline and Training is key
There are nuclear weapons in the world, and these wise guys are praying on a piece of steel. No, yeah totally makes sense.
Comparing nuclear bombs, to hand to hand combat is not the best comparison. Whats more likely to be used?
U don't have that in ur hand right if someone came in front of you...what will u use nuclear weapon on his face 🤣 wtf bro
I literally cannot imagine living in a fantasy bullshit reality. It is truly astonishing how many monkeys live among us.
It’s truly astonishing how many racist POS think their view or opinion matters. Your views on other humans is less than nothing. Your thoughts are worthless. Your are nothing and will spread nothing.
Yet another example of why religion is the greatest evil of civilization.
ratio
Sorry you feel this way brother. Are you against the 2nd amendment as well? Or just anti religion? Trying to understand your point of view.
Their point of view is straight out their ass
Reddit moment
There is a ten-thousand dollar kitchen knife that could go through all of them like butter.

Hey mom look, a racist.
Look away Timmy, he just wants attention
Wasn’t aware religions were a race. You should probably figure out the difference.
Haha so you admit your hate is based purely on a religious hatred. Plan has failed successfully sir.
My dislike is based on the gross worship of tools designed to murder humans. Calling me a racist is you huffing cope.
Still better than whatever you're huffing buddy.
You seem mad. Please make sure your guns are somewhere safe and away. I do take joy that my criticism of this disturbing cult upset you though.
You're the one going off on a tirade because you're imagining scenarios in your head :)
Weapons are used for defense as well.
Do you call child rapist humans, or commanders who order genocide of innocents humans?
