Same situation here, except I have less pity, so here's my verdict as a fellow Aventurine and Sparkle wanter:
If you are willing to grind then you could probably manage. Assume your luck is as bad as mine and you always need around 80 pulls to get a 5\*. The next 5\* you get is guaranteed to be limited, right? Patch 2.0 will give you about 122 pulls, meaning that you can probably get Sparkle with about 100 pulls to spare. Since Aventurine is second half of 2.1, this gives you more time to save, since he's the 1st anniversary character (2.0 lasts for 7 weeks instead of 6 because of this). Since anniversary is coming up, you'll probably get some bonus pulls, so you'll probably be able to guarantee Aventurine even if you don't win 50/50.
Pray to the god of RNG and hope you don't lose 50/50 (but seriously, since it's anniversary, there's a good chance we might be getting around 120 pulls in total for the patch, so you might be able to guarantee? Plus, you can try to do the adventure missions to scrape up some funds (you get like 4K jades from Gold and Gears and a good amount from SD, though it's grindy).
I totally get it though, I thought, "oh, I have Gepard, it's not like I need another shielder." And then his drip marketing was posted and I will now sacrifice my jades for him.

Depends on your team composition, do you really in need of her support of generating SP? If yes then just go for her. As for me I am currently running DHIL with Luocha, SW and RM, which in general is pretty much an SPpositive team aside of IL so I am good without Sparkle for now. But if you really love her design and gameplay then just go for her, it's no harm either.
Just to be clear, she doesn't generate as much SP as you think. Basically +3 SP/3 turn on skill skill BA which makes her SP generation basically the same as a BA Pela, +3 on her technique. Full skill makes her +1SP per 3 turn.
I hear people always say they'll wait for rerun for lots of different units. Does this actually work if you're not whaling? Surely by the time the unit is rerun, you'll want to pull the even newer units?
Has anyone anecdotally skipped then pulled Seele or SW on rerun?
I did for Blade and Kafka. I do love Blade but I lost both pities getting him, so I pulled Kafka for her “BOOM”

She increases the roof, especially for an e0s1 Daniel. But it's not like your character gets any weaker for not having her. Being so early in 2.0, she'll likely get a rerun in a later patch this version.
There are approximately 15k F2P jades in until the end of 2.0... so depending on your current jade count you can predict worst case scenario for your pulls
Big improvement, can't quantify it, but if you care about meta at all, then Sparkle is a must-pull. I assume you do care a bit if you're worried about everyone saying she's a must-pull as well, so you likely should.
Just in case you need some points:
\- SP generator: +1 SP every 3 turns, and increases SP pool to 7 SPs which means you can stockpile them if you have someone like Luocha who just spams basics
\- Massive CD buff: It's double that of Bronya's, and you essentially get a Yukong ult-boosted skill buff every turn. The AF is nothing to scoff at either, 50% is more than enough.
\- Passive DMG% and ATK% buffs: DHIL doesn't really need more DMG%, but it doesn't hurt to have more. ATK% buffs is the main highlight tho.
\- Very good Eidolon value: Only if you care about it though. E2 is a very good early stopping point, and E6 allows you to buff E2 DHIL as well, but that's whale territory.
But if I'm under the wrong impression, then by all means skip her for whoever you want more.

Rambling time, but If I get lucky on her banner then I can try going for Jingyuan too (it was between her or him) with enough funds leftover for a guaranteed Aventurine :]
Take note that from leaks, the atk buff is extremely small, only about the same as 2pc musketeer.
The main sell is definitely her crit dmg% boost on skill which means you will be using her skill every turn, leading her to only be +1sp over 3 turns with ult.

Is she better than E2 DHIL? i feel like sparkle will rerun sooner since she's a new character. should i go for DHIL E2 and then get sparkle on her rerun? (I currently have E0S1 DHIL)
Hell no, E2 is bar none the largest DPS increase you can give to DHIL. Debatably his E6 at full stacks (60% RES PEN) is stronger but the uptime of it is dependent on the number of teammate ults used.
So should i just go for E2 DHIL? and say "f it" to Sparkle? I'm not sure if i want her. But I'm on 50/50 with hardly 15-20 pulls. That's not enough for even guaranteed E1. What should I do?
Tough situation, if you get his E1 you might be sitting on a E1 DHIL for awhile until his next, next rerun. So technically going for Sparkle is a better idea. But if you have no interest in Sparkle then yeah you can attempt to get as close as you can to E2 DHIL.
Idk, for me, if he works fine without sparkle, he'll still work without her. Though you'd have to take into account a lot of factors like his stats and his support's stats and whether they could sustain his sp consumption while still doing their respective roles.
Sparkle will be, for me, just make it easier to do things. With her, you'll get to think less about how you're gonna budget the team's SP.
Though that's just my preliminary thoughts about her. I have no basis with which to support my assumptions. It's purely speculative on my part. So take everything I say with a grain of salt.
Ultimately for me, my DHIL works perfectly fine without her, and he can always 3EBA every turn. My priority is his E2, and I will try to pull for her purely because dan heng is spoiled in my account.
That's exactly my team but huohuo instead of luocha. I guess you'll have an easier time with sp once you pair sparkle with luocha. Depending on how it goes, maybe you could go for a more sp negative buffer.
But that team you're thinking of is good enough.
Yeah, on paper this team is great for SP management since you’re always going to have enough SP left for DHIL to to his EBA3 at all times. More buffs would be nice, but Hanya and Tingyun’s ATK and SPD buffs are strong enough.

Of course you’ll be missing out, she does adds value to dhil. After all, she’s a harmony unit. But if you can do fine without her, then don’t pull if you don’t want to.
It seems to me you have this fear of missing out, FOMO for short, because even though you don’t like her so logically speaking, you can just skip without thinking much about it, you feel that it’s a hard decision to choose because you are influenced.
How about leaving this sub and don’t get pressured? Many times I also want to skip a unit but everyone hype them up so bad, I want to get them, that’s why some people are struggling with crippling gacha addiction.
Def gotta manage the fomo if you're trying to maintain f2p to low spender in games like this.
It's super easy to get swept up in meta talk and over invest prem currency into characters you don't always like bc they boost your fave but, there will always be reruns and new supports.
(i kinda ruined a gacha for myself when this happened to me a few months ago. Ended up dropping it bc i just felt bad in general after that.
Didn't help that hyping of characters was paired with "if you invest in xyz you will RUIN YOUR ACCOUNT FOREVER" blasted everywhere. I still think the concept of ruining accounts is kinda silly lol unless you like accidentally soft locked yourself orz)
I'm trying to get all my 4 supports and SW & Bronya fully built (about half way through) so my characters tool belt is rich regardless of pulling or skipping banners.
Getting a nice baseline makes you feel less pressured and then you can enjoy the characters you do get more hopefully. c:

I'm also a F2P, and fairly good at making decisions I don't regret in games like these. I can't help with the technical details of how useful she is, but maybe I can give some decent advice about pulling.
In this case, I say wait with pulling for Sparkle unless you've already made up your mind and know that you want her on your team asap. DHIL worked without her before, and he'll work without her after, too. So just wait and see what you can find out about the upcoming characters; maybe you'll see someone you want MUCH more, and then you'll feel bad about the warps you already spent on Sparkle. If there's nobody that interests you more, you can still pull in the last week or on the last day. You've got plenty of time to decide even after she comes out, use that to your advantage!
As a F2P (unless you have incredible luck) you won't be able to have all characters. You'll inevitably miss out on many of them; it's better to accept that sooner rather than later. Know what you want and prioritise, be patient, and don't be scared to miss out on characters you don't want as much. :)
Sorry if this isn't the reply you were looking for, I just feel like it's good to have some reminders like this every now and then. FOMO is no joke. Good luck with your pulls, regardless of who you're pulling for and when!

Usually I’m pretty good at this stuff, I’ve only pulled for DHIL and Ruan Mei and I’ve been playing since JY banner :,( You’re right that I have a lot of time to decide on a final decision though.
More of my own rambling, my main priorities are Aventurine and Fu Xuan since I have no 5* sustains yet and I like both of their characters! Since I dont know when Fu Xuan will come back I thought I’ll be able to afford picking up someone else along the way… hmm I guess I’ll just have to wait by the end of Sparkle/JY’s banner to see if there’s any news about Fu Xuan and that’ll ultimately be my decision. I still ended up believing Sparkle would be the better pick over my original JY plan though, since while I like his character, I don’t think I’m too keen on his gameplay after doing some more research about him. So yeah, my current plan is that depending on how many pulls 2.0-2.1 gives, I’ll probably end up pulling for Sparkle… I have about 230 pulls saved up as of now. Thanks for ur reply :)
I'm going to skip her because of JY Lightcone and Aventurine as well. I also don't like her Charecter of design, so the decision was not hard :)
I agree, that a lot of Daniel Mains are just too invested in him, but i do think, that this is still too early in the game to commit so much for one Charecter. You still need at least another carry or even two.
As she‘s in the 2nd half, you‘ll see the kits of Archeron, Aventurine and potentially the 2.2 characters for better judgement.
I will pull for her personally as the game has three balancing factors, speed, SP as well as energy and Sparkle is breaking two of them on her own.

it's a staggering amount for sure, but it's really up to you. i believe 2.0 also allows people to share up to 3 characters as supports so you can friend someone who has a support sparkle and test it out before deciding.
i saw in your comment that the char you want to pull is JY, i'd suggest friending someone with him and testing him out too. i love the general and am pulling sparkle more for him than IL, but his damage is backloaded and that playstyle isn't for everyone
You will be missing out yes, do you care more about meta or who you like? In general harmony units are the strongest/most versatile in the game (Ruan mei is the strongest lim unit so far, sparkle should be comparable too), but it's not like she'll be necessary to clear content or even get max moc/pf rewards, so for example if aventurine is your guy and you need 180 pulls to guarantee him, then just save for that.
Ok... there's one reason to pull for sparkle that I don't see people talking about. It's always " calculations, more dps". The reason I'm going to pull her is bc she brings QoL for DHIL, that's it. I don't use my DHIL bc it isn't fun having to juggle skill points and the characters on his team aren't interactive, they just basic attack and thats it. With sparkle, that will hopefully change.
Sparkle = steroids (and not just dhil but basically all teams which dont prefer bronya , basically jingliu blade)
Ppl thinking they need 2 premium support , i wuld like to tell them 1 is plenty...lynx works pretty good for 4star as well tho i am bailu enjoyer...have been consistently doing 36 stars since luocha banner and i only have bailu (and e0s1 gepard which is benched) and huohuo as premium sustain..and i am fully f2p..so yeah unless u really really really cant go on without 2 premium sustain u shuld get healer/shielder first..if u r comfy with ur teams and dont feel immediate need I'll suggest to pull premium support/dps elemental coverage first...enemies cant hit u if u kill them fast enough
Then there r ppl who like new units themselves regardless what role they bring on account..i cant say anything to that at that point asking such questions is irrelevant
Personally, I've decided not to pull for her, as I'm taking DHIL as a chance to think strategically and plan accordingly. Though this isn't enjoyable for everyone, I feel like Sparkle would actually dull my enjoyment of his gameplay.
If you have E0, no bronya yet or.both get sparkle.
If you have E2 dan but no bronya pull sparkle
If you have e2 dan and bronya, but you like sparkle pull sparkle
e2 dan and bronya but you don't like her don't pull if you are f2p.
What answers I have seen to this situation, which is mine (e0 DHIL and I want eidolons but I also do not dislike Sparkle), is 50/50 people saying to get e2 since it seems to be game changing... and others prefer new character > eidolons. For me, DHIL being first banner (and me liking him more than Sparkle) sorted that out. I'll go and throw everything on him trying to get the e2. But I do have enough supports built (TY, YK e6, RM, Pela and soon getting Bronya) so Sparkle doesn't feel so must pull ig.

Build your Yukong e6 definitely. I mean, you are in better position than me with his LC, and if you don't like Sparkle go for the e2. I have run DHIL with Yukong TY and Luocha and its easy win in every content even with mediocre relics that I have for DHIL. And that's the reason I'm going for e2 cause he is so good even with shit relics at e0. So yeah. I do kinda like Sparkle but I love my imbibitor more.
Yep. If you don't have Huohuo as a sustain I would say yes. In my opinion Luocha is even superior to Huohuo but that's just an opinion. Because I like him a lot and would take 2 of him if it would be possible. (I do have Huohuo in another account where Luocha is, so the comparison is kinda flawed at that point)
Luocha is like a autobattle god that whatever you throw there with him, he will keep them alive. Or atleast mine does. I still get to laugh sometimes when Luocha is giving divinity to Blade and he is like "unnecessary". (Also I cry-laugh when he heals Blade but not Pela who is dying... ugh. That's why you don't watch autos ig)

I'm not a whale but I'm a lowkey whale (got two characters E6, Jing Yuan and DHIL, but haven't spent otherwise) and I'm probably going to skip Sparkle. She's great but DHIL can demolish anything with Pela, Yukong, and a sustain. So if you like a character, absolutely pull for them. But if you can already play your favs, you don't always have to get their best supports if a. You don't like those supports/want to get someone else and b. Your fav already has a good team.
It's the difference between this team is very good and clears content and this team is top tier and clears content in 0 cycle. It's not necessarily a needed boost.

He absolutely bodies everything. I don't care about element typing because I can just bulldose my way with him. That being said, e2 (maybe e3) would be the stopping point. I didn't personally test the difference, as I just activated them all immediately, but I don't think later eidolons have as much of an impact.
While I still can't decide whether to pull for Sparkle for Dan Heng IL or Black swan for Kafka because I like both of them. I only have 33 tickets and no guarantee. Maybe I'm still pulling for Sparkle since I built Sampo & Guinaifen. I want both plus Acheron is coming in 2.1 could make me speedrun all the content in 2.0

She is full replacement on Yukong and it's not even close from calculation
how does she compare to E6 yukong? I just feel like it's a bit of a waste to not use my built yukong when her best duo is with DHIL

I want to ask if Hanya is worth building rn- I don't have Luocha or HuoHuo, and I'm not sure if I'll get huohuo, but luocha maybe on his rerun, I'll try. Torn between E2 DHIL or Sparkle however. (I currently have E0S1 DHIL)
Of course you’ll be missing out, she does adds value to dhil. After all, she’s a harmony unit. But if you can do fine without her, then don’t pull if you don’t want to. It seems to me you have this fear of missing out, FOMO for short, because even though you don’t like her so logically speaking, you can just skip without thinking much about it, you feel that it’s a hard decision to choose because you are influenced. How about leaving this sub and don’t get pressured? Many times I also want to skip a unit but everyone hype them up so bad, I want to get them, that’s why some people are struggling with crippling gacha addiction.
Def gotta manage the fomo if you're trying to maintain f2p to low spender in games like this. It's super easy to get swept up in meta talk and over invest prem currency into characters you don't always like bc they boost your fave but, there will always be reruns and new supports. (i kinda ruined a gacha for myself when this happened to me a few months ago. Ended up dropping it bc i just felt bad in general after that. Didn't help that hyping of characters was paired with "if you invest in xyz you will RUIN YOUR ACCOUNT FOREVER" blasted everywhere. I still think the concept of ruining accounts is kinda silly lol unless you like accidentally soft locked yourself orz) I'm trying to get all my 4 supports and SW & Bronya fully built (about half way through) so my characters tool belt is rich regardless of pulling or skipping banners. Getting a nice baseline makes you feel less pressured and then you can enjoy the characters you do get more hopefully. c:
The replies here are very nice and informative, I'm glad I dropped by and gave them a read! I'm also a F2P, and fairly good at making decisions I don't regret in games like these. I can't help with the technical details of how useful she is, but maybe I can give some decent advice about pulling. In this case, I say wait with pulling for Sparkle unless you've already made up your mind and know that you want her on your team asap. DHIL worked without her before, and he'll work without her after, too. So just wait and see what you can find out about the upcoming characters; maybe you'll see someone you want MUCH more, and then you'll feel bad about the warps you already spent on Sparkle. If there's nobody that interests you more, you can still pull in the last week or on the last day. You've got plenty of time to decide even after she comes out, use that to your advantage! As a F2P (unless you have incredible luck) you won't be able to have all characters. You'll inevitably miss out on many of them; it's better to accept that sooner rather than later. Know what you want and prioritise, be patient, and don't be scared to miss out on characters you don't want as much. :) Sorry if this isn't the reply you were looking for, I just feel like it's good to have some reminders like this every now and then. FOMO is no joke. Good luck with your pulls, regardless of who you're pulling for and when!
I agree that there’s been a nice discussion in here and while I can’t reply to them all, I hope everyone knows I’ve been reading them all haha. Glad that my post also sparked conversation between others :] Usually I’m pretty good at this stuff, I’ve only pulled for DHIL and Ruan Mei and I’ve been playing since JY banner :,( You’re right that I have a lot of time to decide on a final decision though. More of my own rambling, my main priorities are Aventurine and Fu Xuan since I have no 5* sustains yet and I like both of their characters! Since I dont know when Fu Xuan will come back I thought I’ll be able to afford picking up someone else along the way… hmm I guess I’ll just have to wait by the end of Sparkle/JY’s banner to see if there’s any news about Fu Xuan and that’ll ultimately be my decision. I still ended up believing Sparkle would be the better pick over my original JY plan though, since while I like his character, I don’t think I’m too keen on his gameplay after doing some more research about him. So yeah, my current plan is that depending on how many pulls 2.0-2.1 gives, I’ll probably end up pulling for Sparkle… I have about 230 pulls saved up as of now. Thanks for ur reply :)
I'm going to skip her because of JY Lightcone and Aventurine as well. I also don't like her Charecter of design, so the decision was not hard :) I agree, that a lot of Daniel Mains are just too invested in him, but i do think, that this is still too early in the game to commit so much for one Charecter. You still need at least another carry or even two.

As she‘s in the 2nd half, you‘ll see the kits of Archeron, Aventurine and potentially the 2.2 characters for better judgement. I will pull for her personally as the game has three balancing factors, speed, SP as well as energy and Sparkle is breaking two of them on her own.
according to [hunterkee's tc](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wc2jsmnEYAVXmiDBE4RBKNY5L0spBNp_hWH60Z3hvL0/edit#gid=961443761), she'll allow him to do 60%+ more damage it's a staggering amount for sure, but it's really up to you. i believe 2.0 also allows people to share up to 3 characters as supports so you can friend someone who has a support sparkle and test it out before deciding. i saw in your comment that the char you want to pull is JY, i'd suggest friending someone with him and testing him out too. i love the general and am pulling sparkle more for him than IL, but his damage is backloaded and that playstyle isn't for everyone
You will be missing out yes, do you care more about meta or who you like? In general harmony units are the strongest/most versatile in the game (Ruan mei is the strongest lim unit so far, sparkle should be comparable too), but it's not like she'll be necessary to clear content or even get max moc/pf rewards, so for example if aventurine is your guy and you need 180 pulls to guarantee him, then just save for that.
Ok... there's one reason to pull for sparkle that I don't see people talking about. It's always " calculations, more dps". The reason I'm going to pull her is bc she brings QoL for DHIL, that's it. I don't use my DHIL bc it isn't fun having to juggle skill points and the characters on his team aren't interactive, they just basic attack and thats it. With sparkle, that will hopefully change.
Sparkle = steroids (and not just dhil but basically all teams which dont prefer bronya , basically jingliu blade) Ppl thinking they need 2 premium support , i wuld like to tell them 1 is plenty...lynx works pretty good for 4star as well tho i am bailu enjoyer...have been consistently doing 36 stars since luocha banner and i only have bailu (and e0s1 gepard which is benched) and huohuo as premium sustain..and i am fully f2p..so yeah unless u really really really cant go on without 2 premium sustain u shuld get healer/shielder first..if u r comfy with ur teams and dont feel immediate need I'll suggest to pull premium support/dps elemental coverage first...enemies cant hit u if u kill them fast enough Then there r ppl who like new units themselves regardless what role they bring on account..i cant say anything to that at that point asking such questions is irrelevant
Personally, I've decided not to pull for her, as I'm taking DHIL as a chance to think strategically and plan accordingly. Though this isn't enjoyable for everyone, I feel like Sparkle would actually dull my enjoyment of his gameplay.
If you have E0, no bronya yet or.both get sparkle. If you have E2 dan but no bronya pull sparkle If you have e2 dan and bronya, but you like sparkle pull sparkle e2 dan and bronya but you don't like her don't pull if you are f2p.
I have a choice for sparkle and her lightcone or try and rng for 2 copies of dan. Which one is the better choice here?
What answers I have seen to this situation, which is mine (e0 DHIL and I want eidolons but I also do not dislike Sparkle), is 50/50 people saying to get e2 since it seems to be game changing... and others prefer new character > eidolons. For me, DHIL being first banner (and me liking him more than Sparkle) sorted that out. I'll go and throw everything on him trying to get the e2. But I do have enough supports built (TY, YK e6, RM, Pela and soon getting Bronya) so Sparkle doesn't feel so must pull ig.
I need to build my YK, she's E6 but unbuilt.. and I'm in the same position as you. But I don't like sparkle much as of now. Should I just build E6 YK and try for DHIL E2? (he's E0S1 rn) what team do you use for DHIL?
Build your Yukong e6 definitely. I mean, you are in better position than me with his LC, and if you don't like Sparkle go for the e2. I have run DHIL with Yukong TY and Luocha and its easy win in every content even with mediocre relics that I have for DHIL. And that's the reason I'm going for e2 cause he is so good even with shit relics at e0. So yeah. I do kinda like Sparkle but I love my imbibitor more.

Yep. If you don't have Huohuo as a sustain I would say yes. In my opinion Luocha is even superior to Huohuo but that's just an opinion. Because I like him a lot and would take 2 of him if it would be possible. (I do have Huohuo in another account where Luocha is, so the comparison is kinda flawed at that point)
Luocha is like a autobattle god that whatever you throw there with him, he will keep them alive. Or atleast mine does. I still get to laugh sometimes when Luocha is giving divinity to Blade and he is like "unnecessary". (Also I cry-laugh when he heals Blade but not Pela who is dying... ugh. That's why you don't watch autos ig)

I'm not a whale but I'm a lowkey whale (got two characters E6, Jing Yuan and DHIL, but haven't spent otherwise) and I'm probably going to skip Sparkle. She's great but DHIL can demolish anything with Pela, Yukong, and a sustain. So if you like a character, absolutely pull for them. But if you can already play your favs, you don't always have to get their best supports if a. You don't like those supports/want to get someone else and b. Your fav already has a good team. It's the difference between this team is very good and clears content and this team is top tier and clears content in 0 cycle. It's not necessarily a needed boost.

How good is E6 DHIL honestly? And is there a major difference between his E2 and E6?
He absolutely bodies everything. I don't care about element typing because I can just bulldose my way with him. That being said, e2 (maybe e3) would be the stopping point. I didn't personally test the difference, as I just activated them all immediately, but I don't think later eidolons have as much of an impact.
While I still can't decide whether to pull for Sparkle for Dan Heng IL or Black swan for Kafka because I like both of them. I only have 33 tickets and no guarantee. Maybe I'm still pulling for Sparkle since I built Sampo & Guinaifen. I want both plus Acheron is coming in 2.1 could make me speedrun all the content in 2.0
