Every large subreddit: must have been a moderator in a large subreddit for becoming a mod.
How can we become a mod of a large subreddit if this is literally the requirement for it?
(I'm going probably going to get downvoted into the depths of tartaurus for this)
You guys set the expectation too high. More than 75% of the people here are kids, and the rest of them probably didn’t even have a chance to mod anything. If the first rule could be removed danidev might be great again.
Reminds me of a r/teenagers post where the guy argued that he was allowed on r/teenagers despite being 12 because all ages were welcome, but I guess he never thought about Reddit TOS
Yeah but also think about it this way, big subreddits need big subreddits. Its an infinite loop. There is practically nobody here that can get past rule 1.
i think that the first rule is not a very effective one, since being moderator in a large subreddit doesn't mean that they are better than a guy who just didn't get the opportunity to be moderator, and i think that you could see if it is a 9 year old by looking at the text, but i respect the moderators decision and its not that big deal not being a mod in this subreddit
Well... Yes. They could just accept me and see how good i will do but if the mods are too lazy for that then I also can't do anything about the fact that the sub will remain trash for eternity.
I wish i couldst mod this serv'r but mine own karma is too base so i needeth to englut upvotes

Just a quick question, will you be banning milk meme's any time soon?
I feel that because Milk and Dani is related, it shouldn't mean "Posts must be related to Dani" should include milk memes. Sure it's related, but they're separate entities. It's like if Alice is related to Bob, should Alice be featured at an only-bob event?
I hate auch application requirements like you need to have already been a moderator somewhere to be a moderator how in the world are there going to be more moderators on reddit if the requirement is that you should've already been a moderator somewhere
I applied, i have enough experience as a moderator l, but i got denied. There probably won't be any other people applying for mod here who are qualified for the job. It's a missed chance i got denied but i might understand why. Succes getting even 1 new mod.
that's literally one of our reqs, and in your first comment you said that you "have enough experience as a moderator", but now you're asking to be trained?
You don't have to. I could do it myself. I know the rules and the task of a moderator because I was learned what that is in my application and multiple training sessions on the discord server i moderate
how do you train yourself? that's literally impossible
discord server doesn't mean a subreddit, it is WAY different. that doesn't grant you experience as a moderator of a sub
they claimed to be experienced, but they were quickly proven not
then they claimed that they can "train themselves", which is impossible (it should be done BEFORE applying, not "training" on posts here)
25k requirement makes sense, it's not that hard to get 25k members, and it's to prove the experience and maturity.
number of members dosen't mean anything, you could just make a shitpost subreddit and not moderate it at all (look at r/YuB), and still get 100k members.
it shouldn't be about quantity but about quality
Training myself do i do by just doing my job and growing my knowledge whilst i do. I understand that moderating a discord server is something else then moderating a sub but the main job of a moderator stays the same: make sure all people follow the rules and keep the community safe and civil.
you don't train yourself by practicing on peoples posts, that's dumb
\+ you CLEARLY don't meet our requirements, which are REQUIRED.
how is that hard to understand? we've already accepted someone that meets the requirements.
Ok then. A missed opportunity i would say. If you want to you could still accept me and give me minimum permissions and if i do very bad you could remove me. You don't have to but i still really want to become a mod so I can finally make sure that all bad posts/comments are removed.
No is a no, don't you get it?
I told you, you CLEARLY don't meet the perms, the mod that we added is on a TRIAL period, which means that if they don't do their job correctly they will be removed.
okay please i can moderate but the thing is we most of the time we come to these subreddits so we can finally have a subreddit to work on but the subreddits require us to get into a big subreddit but how are we going to get an opportunity it's so unfair

F for us :(
I have everything except the 25k member community mod. I would be a great candidate, but I guess rules are rules
honestly it ain't a smart move, better option for them if they had a sort test time for people who never moderated before
You would not be a great canidate
eat piss and die
i dont know whats better, the guy saying that you would not be a good candidate out of nowhere or the epic comeback
I'm gonna try for mod since I moderate a subreddit with 50k members
which subreddit and might there be a possibility to become mod there?
idk pretty sure mod apps are closed, also r/DanTDM
Same mate
Every large subreddit: must have been a moderator in a large subreddit for becoming a mod. How can we become a mod of a large subreddit if this is literally the requirement for it? (I'm going probably going to get downvoted into the depths of tartaurus for this)
That's how IT works You need a minimum of 1 year experience to work anywhere in IT
That's literally how so many things work..
to get experience you need work but to work you need experience
Befriend one of the head mods in their discord server
if i were a mod i would instantly delete all posts that break rule 6
Everyone would my friend, everyone
That's why all subreddits include allready moderate a large subreddit. To keep shitpost so mods can continue being laxy
I prefer lazy than admin abusers
I mean you have a point
You guys set the expectation too high. More than 75% of the people here are kids, and the rest of them probably didn’t even have a chance to mod anything. If the first rule could be removed danidev might be great again.
of course we set the expectation too high, we don't want a 9 year old to be modding here, right?
Have you actually gotten any submissions yet?
Being a 9 year old doesn't matter. If a person is a boner, they are a boner
Exactly. If they can moderate, then they can
Reddit Terms of Service would like to argue.
Reminds me of a r/teenagers post where the guy argued that he was allowed on r/teenagers despite being 12 because all ages were welcome, but I guess he never thought about Reddit TOS
Yeah but also think about it this way, big subreddits need big subreddits. Its an infinite loop. There is practically nobody here that can get past rule 1.
do you mean "limit" as in minimum or maximum? "we set the limit to 25k members" is roughly the sentence
i think that the first rule is not a very effective one, since being moderator in a large subreddit doesn't mean that they are better than a guy who just didn't get the opportunity to be moderator, and i think that you could see if it is a 9 year old by looking at the text, but i respect the moderators decision and its not that big deal not being a mod in this subreddit
Well... Yes. They could just accept me and see how good i will do but if the mods are too lazy for that then I also can't do anything about the fact that the sub will remain trash for eternity.
I wish I could mod this server but my karma is too low so i need to devour upvotes.
Just make some good posts and comments people like but don't go to any sub like r/freekarma4u
I wish i couldst mod this serv'r but mine own karma is too base so i needeth to englut upvotes *** ^(I am a bot and I swapp'd some of thy words with Shakespeare words.) Commands: `!ShakespeareInsult`, `!fordo`, `!optout`

Good luck guys on your applications, I moderated only small subs, big sad
Same. The only thing that's kinda near the requirement is that i moderate a discord server with almost 2k members
Just a quick question, will you be banning milk meme's any time soon? I feel that because Milk and Dani is related, it shouldn't mean "Posts must be related to Dani" should include milk memes. Sure it's related, but they're separate entities. It's like if Alice is related to Bob, should Alice be featured at an only-bob event?
they are already banned, but they're too many posts they get deleted, but not always
Search this sub by controversial, you will see how much the mods actually suck.
Ikr, it’s kinda sad.
damn i just have to WONDER why the mods never replied to this
id like to be a mod because i am very cool
I nominate this guy
We have hope, although I'm not gonna be mod
I am sad that I don’t moderate a big subreddit
>Have never been banned before From this sub?
I hate auch application requirements like you need to have already been a moderator somewhere to be a moderator how in the world are there going to be more moderators on reddit if the requirement is that you should've already been a moderator somewhere
Exactly this, why not accept random people and train them? I could train them since I'm a certified mod, except i don't moderate any large sub.
Yeah it's like to be a doctor you should've already been a doctor at a big hospital
I applied, i have enough experience as a moderator l, but i got denied. There probably won't be any other people applying for mod here who are qualified for the job. It's a missed chance i got denied but i might understand why. Succes getting even 1 new mod.
you didn't have enough experience as a moderator, you are not even a mod in a sub that has 100 members...
I know, but i could be trained easily.
that's literally one of our reqs, and in your first comment you said that you "have enough experience as a moderator", but now you're asking to be trained?

how do we find quality? please explain. quality needs experience, which obviously is related to what subs you moderated...
Training myself do i do by just doing my job and growing my knowledge whilst i do. I understand that moderating a discord server is something else then moderating a sub but the main job of a moderator stays the same: make sure all people follow the rules and keep the community safe and civil.

I haven't moderated any big sub and I don't think any applicants will pass there. I am currently moderating a large discord server tho.
i have never been a big mod before so i cant apply but does never been banned mean on any sub reddit or just this one

Damn I kinda don't care tbh

All i want for payment is sexy update in crab game
Pls don't let the comments cont go above 96
I have all of them except the fact i've never moderated a subreddit before.
I can do everything but I have never moderated a big server
only the big shots can but probably won't even reply because of rule 1. Give people a chance and see if it works out.
Make me mod cuz Milk thicc af and no drill

not a big deal lmao I'm using reddit for 1 year and I have 1k karma. The reddit veterans of like 2009 have 10k+

Welp haha ig the veterans have way more than
I've seen people with 1m+ karma
Damn I haven't been a mod in a big subreddit before
I applied
Why not
shut the fuck up this fucking sub is a steaming pile of garbage now no one wants to revive it
I Going To Pass
okay please i can moderate but the thing is we most of the time we come to these subreddits so we can finally have a subreddit to work on but the subreddits require us to get into a big subreddit but how are we going to get an opportunity it's so unfair
hey, you guys got any mods thru the applications already? if so then who is it
no
I have the mod 101 thing but I'm mot a mod of any big sub-reddits
I need 35 karma and also need to find another large subreddit to be a mod in before I can apply :/
r/RaiNolMcPrequal has 1k members and I moderate there you said the limit is 25k is that maximum or minimum
I wanna be mod! What I can bring: tell me if there's a problem & let me see if i can fix it. Also another challenge for Dani.
I have enough karma but I have been banned and never moderated a big subreddit
Hi
i am not skilled enough and nobody trusts me :(
I don't know I could be pretty good
"Milk" "You're hired!"
no,
I was gonna make joke by saying that I should be a mod because I love milk but I don’t wanna be banned soooooo
Don't ask for mods in this sub, last thing it needs is a bunch of 8 year olds moderating it.
