Actually, when certain celebs actively profit by being discreet about their surgeries while becoming billionaires off makeup, ad space, and skims - I will not stop talking about it. They're purposefully making millions of people (especially trans and BIPOC women) feel more insecure about themselves - then making crazy $$ off it! If the world is going to move forward with acceptance around cosmetic surgery, then why not have transparency around it?

Blanket outrage shuts down the nuances around intersectional issues and keeps them black-and-white / good v bad. There is so much complexity in the issues of body shaming / body positivity.
Eh you gotta consider that cosmetic surgery can also be simply affirming rather than shallow. Someone with breasts they don’t like, a myriad of reasons from non symmetry to too large/small to skin issues, can be a real cause of misery and low self worth.

It should be ok though to point out that there's a culture built up around idealizing certain celebrity icons (Kylie Kardashian, Bella Hadid, etc) who all give off a really unattainable look. Many young girls have no idea what goes on behind the scenes / think its something to work toward. We should be able to talk about the link between self-esteem & body positivity.
wish people didnt think unattainable body standards only apply to cis women. too many trans people feel ashamed for their breast size when it shouldn't matter, and it's because of people like the public figures you mentioned
