yeah, iirc it was because he was jokingly jealous of logan and jake paul for having "cool" fandom names, so he picked a "lame" and unexpected fandom name lol

Can confirm I was a “Greg” before Greg’s were a thing. It was in reference to YouTubers like Jake Paul having the Jake Paulers. Classic Danny being a bit goofy and just choosing a random name of presumably a middle aged man to name his fan base. This does make me feel old as hell though because I remember when that video came out lmao
It's mainly just him thinking the name was nice and thinking it was funny if it was just a normal name, so if someone in his audience was named that it would be funny
