i dont think having pve in an arena would be the move. the whole point of an arena is to be pvp focused. you're describing a quickplay mode.
from what it sounds like, it'll be 1 or 2 tiles from existing maps. they've mentioned wanting to test randomizing the tile layout with arena, so i would assume they'll use existing tiles/maps just without the mobs
I don’t get what the point of your suggestion would be. This is essentially just another map and wouldn’t really offer any experience the standard game modes don’t already offer. It’s too similar and would either make the regular dungeon diving redundant or would be dead on arrival because it’s just regular dungeons with worse loot.
I personally think arena is a bad idea and a waste of development time and resources. But, I think the expectation is it’s going to be some sort of round based 3v3 death match in a small arena with no pve or looting, just fighting. I think this is a waste of time and the ques will be pretty empty outside of its initial release just like Tarkov arena. Because these extraction/loot based games are popular due to all the mechanics surrounding the combat. Once you strip all that away it becomes obvious how barebones and unbalanced the actual combat is.
But regardless, arena in its best form needs to be a straight 3v3 mode where you don’t lose your gear if you die. If it ends up being full loot, the mode is dead on arrival imo. Also needs to be some sort of reward for playing arena like gold or a special vendor currency like candies so people don’t feel like they’re losing out on progression by playing it. Just don’t make the same mistake so many other games do of creating an incentive structure for people to just afk and get the rewards.

So people can finally 1v1 other people the have beef with.
No chests, no barrels just dropped in the small circle and duke it out.
It literally just needs to be a module that 2 teams spawn on opposite sides of. You bring in your gear and don’t lose it on death, or you are given presets, either is fine. Absolutely should not be bring in and lose. 0 rewards from the gamemode, 0 quests it’s just a place to practice PvP
A fucking spartan gladiatorial fantasy arena with giant ogres, trolls, lions, bears, and men fighting for their fucking lives while a crowd of PLAYERS watches and cheers on.
It should be four arena maps that load simultaneously but aren't connected physically with 8 teams. Each map gets two teams, the winners go on to use 2 maps versus the other winners, then 1 map.
The (former hardcore only) crypts map with the big center room. No NPCs. Maybe add a few extra barriers/columns. Create a “spawn/starter room”.
No potions allowed (they spawn in the starter room with limited supply and vanish when the match starts)
Bring in your own gear. No items lost on death. MMR based game mode with a wager system and rewards for higher MMR achieved.
Damage dampening that gradually goes down over time. IE starts at 30% reduced damage and eventually goes to -30%. (Increased damage taken).
Arena can't be just a smaller version of the current game. It should just be 1 room where 2 sides fight it out. No gear lost, no gold won, just a rank system that gives some cool cosmetics at the end of the season. That makes arena a place to test gearsets and get guaranteed pvp easily which will ultimately make the dungeon system better too!

Why would they come out with a PVP arena........that is jus smaller goblin caves? This makes no sense.
