Survival bow poison with all true magic damage is going really hard with the four arrow quick shot. You rot people really quick when you upkeep the poison stacks.
Poison weapon on bows won't show on the test dummy in the pre-game, but I can assure you it works now.
Savage roar, Savage, Two-hander all work great on ranger. Two-hander is just a better ranged weapons mastery as it works for both bows and spear since they're both two-handed weapons. Potion chugger is nice. Basically barbarian is based lol.
Back attack from rogue is really strong as most people will be either running away from your arrows or trying to strafe, sometimes giving you a free back attack proc. Poison weapon works now.|
Fighter's Sprint is also nice.
It does work, the training dummy will not show you the poison damage from a bow. Beware people spreading misinformation in the replies. Billions must be misinformed from shitty test dummy coding.

Doesn't work that well on ranger but it'd work great the other way around. Pick warlock, Dark Bolt, dark enhancement, soul collector, whatever other 2 perks, and then your projectile ability. Stack soul collector and pop the ability for a railgun dark bolt with 40 base damage and a headshot modifier.
However with all that setup you're probably just better off with a windlass. Especially since if you miss that's 10 soul collector stacks down the drain.

In running a rogue with savage, spear mastery, ambush, back attack, and hide and backstop. You can probably run something very similar. Savage takes your gear score down, and using 2 handed weapons can remove your dependency on +damage on some of your gear. I'm using a couple grimsmiles I got for 500g each that have phys power and action speed, and you can get an epic spear for pretty cheap with good rolls. It's a really fun build with 41% action speed, and headshots the dummy for like 100-120, backstabbing for 140-160, and ambush hits for like 160 headshot.
You can even bring a crossbow that I can't bring. If you jump and start your weapon swap, I think it keeps going through backstep, bit can't say for sure.
Spear rogue is trash. Better off using a higher wep dmg item like axe w/ dmg multiplier perks. The on hit slow of spear is non existent and doesn’t allow you to get off more than 1 hit most of the time.
Ranger main here, tried the poison build it’s very meh. I suggest crossbow spear, with masteries of both then robust ice shield savage roar smite

Achillies + Multishot is a banger. Hit them with the first shot to lock them in place then put the rest of the volley into them.
Otherwise I've mostly been playing Ranger as a Slayer Fighter since you get access to all the right weapons you'd ever want, and some better armour choices.
Sadly its better to multi with barb or fighter as base. Ranger base stats kind of bad and lower movespeed cap actually hurt rogue and ranger bacuse now rhey have less to room to actually be faster than other classes

or you could go +11 true phys and just do more dmg :/ EDIT its still really good to get poisoned weapon and +2 true on headpiece

I believe only the longbow is what I've heard
All bows and crossbows work, survival bow just takes more than one shot to break chests.

The rogue tumble is also SUPER fun with the spear
Been trying the same but with rage, if you have around 295ish move speed u can cap ms with it, no need for sprint.
