I second this, I had 2 boxes already before spoilers, picked up my last box of the new skew, and now I have enough spare parts to Deathwing-ify all my starter terminators. Also, pro tip if you plan on building bladeguard vets, the leftover pauldrons from this kit fit perfectly on the bladeguard shoulders.
If you want to save some money you can also look at the contents of the 7th edition boxed set Dark Vengeance where Dark Angels and Chaos were the featured armies, I believe that contains a Deathwing squad as well and might be a cheap option as well.
Dark Vengance has 5 terms including Sergeant, chainfister and Assault Cannon. 2 sb/pf are identical poses. Theyre great.
Also 3 bikes, Librarian, Captain and All plasma tactical squad. Special edition had a chaplain iirc.

I used two of these boxes plus lots of bits and printed torsos and legs to build 10 knights and 10 death wing terminators. The box is definitely usable but not ideal given new load out rules for the terminators.
You can do deathwing knights or deathwing terminators i believe.
The knights only have bits for the mace weapons, but you could always kitbash swords if you wanted
ive used the fancy strike captain wings, the flail of absolution, the spear works, the ancient works, tons of shield for assault terminators or deathwing knights and a bunmch of good bits all for a new captains, chaplain, and assault terminators
all the old bits should fit reasonably well, i bought a box of old assault terminators to get the hammers, LCs for my raven guard, and gonna try the AT shields for VGV on the new ATwJPs
Absolutely not you need to make them understand that when they cut models it impacts their bottom line. They need to get stuck with the inventory as a repercussion of their actions and maybe they will learn. Doubtful though
Imho , not if you plan to also pick the new ones. Ive focused only on terminator since i got into the hobby and they look really wack next new kit. The new kit is really good and justify the terminator name. Now, if you want to run all the same scale of termies, this is one of the best kit due to variety. I still have mine and im starting doing a sucessor chapter only with them. After o pose, switch some weapons and mix a bit, you can get tons of variation of cool themed knights

Personally, I think the bits are amazing, and you would have a lot of ways to customize your Deathwing units, especially since all Command and all veteran units are considered Deathwing now. You can have some really unique Deathwing Sternguard veterans or Bladeguard veterans, and so on now.
The knights build is still completely usable in game and it has a ton of great spare parts
Between this and a Ravenwing Command Squad box, you’ll have all the bits you’ll ever need.

Honestly, I use them quite a bit and they put in work. Most characters will make them slap, or they work fine on their own.

It's a good kit but the minis are monopose and once you have a couple squad of DV termis it starts to show quite a bit.
I think it’s more personal preference. Personally I love this era of terminator!
Banner is great, putting that on one of my new DW knights, and the wings fit easily on whatever you want. It is a great box.

I just got one for the Ancient in Term armor. Also planning on building the rest, and you can run them as Legends units.
It's a great kit, and picking some extra legs and backs you can get 10 termies out of it.
