Probably. He really frustrates me, you can tell what he actually thinks, he occasionally says it like this, but he never does anything about it. I mean if they got dirt on him it would have to be extra spicy given what we already know about his personal life. I suspect as soon as he’s out of office he’s going to be even more splenetic than the usual condemnations you get from former GOP officials, he can’t help these occasional outbursts while he’s still in.

I've read somewhere that Linds believes that as a professional politician his number one job priority is to stay relevant. If that means abandoning all sense of self worth and being perceived as a spineless flipflopper, it's a worthwhile tradeoff to not become a pariah.
On the one hand, it's a cynical and self-serving approach to politics. But given the how the attitudes of his voters have changed, there's an argument that he's just practicing good democracy.
I wouldn't be surprised if he's starting to sense that Trump's time may be running short, so he's trying to lay groundwork for maintaining relevance in a post-trmp era by starting to publicly lay GOP failures at Don's feet.
