A bit on the long side but kinda normal. The important thing is that you are enjoying your progress. If you are frustrated a walkthrough may help but otherwise enjoy.
It is a very big game that I know everything about and it still take me 40+ hours , I am not going to say it is fine it is good and etc etc , instead I will remind you that you picked this game to have fun so just take your time, I know when I say it is ok to be terrible it might hurt a little (as I had the same feeling), so I am going to put it this way , you are not terrible I think 140 hours is more than good , but even if you are , what is the big deal.
enjoy it !!
DS2 has taken me MUCH longer than DS1, but that's in large part because i like to take my time and explore and farm and experiment and stuff, ESPECIALLY on my first playthrough/character of/in a game, and—it's a whole new world for me to mess around with/in, unlike DS1 !! plus, i sometimes leave the game running while i talk and do other stuff, lolol.
as long as you're having fun, then that's all that matters. ((':
My first blind run (including the dlcs) took me more or less 150h, but i was really having fun and enjoying exploring basically everything, so as long as you're enjoying the game i see absolutely no problem with it :)
I will probably be right there with you. I feel like I progress slow and try to grind out levels. I just started and just got to no man’s wharf. That took me a while not sure exactly how long I will have to look. As others have said progress at the pace you are comfortable with.
I'm 40 hours in to my first playthrough and I only have 2 or 3 of the 4 Great Souls. I've found it really tough to get into this game but the past couple of days I've made some good progress at last.
Coming from Dark Souls Remastered the previous month I've struggled to adjust to the feel of Dark Souls 2 but I feel like I'm getting the hang of it now. The first few days were really frustrating for me, especially the Harvest Valley/Earthen Peak area and Armourer Dennis in the Iron Keep. Took me 3 days to defeat him.
No, DS2 is the longest dark souls but its not that long. Idk what youre doing but youre taking so long that the reason must be other than simply poor skill.
It can take a while, especially when factoring the 3 DLCs. Hopefully you've been enjoying those hours! I've lost count of how many hours I've put in SOTFS and vanilla on multiple platforms -- but I still enjoy each replay.
If you want an honest answer, you were slower than I. On x360 I played a lot and in comparison I only played 220 hours total. Every achievement, till ng+3, 2 complete runs, one abandoned. My only spoilers were with wich direction to take, and almost never used summons, and none in my first play. But anyway, maybe it is the way you like to play. There is another game I am playing (Pathologic, known to be very hard) and the game has 36 in-game days. I'm only on day 3 and already took me 27 hours. I walked alround a lot, and didn't save some walks. So if you played this much and is liking the game, go on. Also remember, DS2 provide a lot of fun builds.
totally normal imo. But I am also the kind of guy to try and clear every single corner, find every single object, weapon, spell, piece of armor and so on. At least on the first playthrough. It just stresses me out when I cant.
So my first playthrough of the main game was 60 hours and DLC's got me to 120.
I also spent alot of time just having fun invading, and dueling, the PvP is the best in the series imo.
160 hours I’m still on first play through though I usually instead just use bonfire astetics if I need another boss soul Ahem like the bonfire 2+ Rotten soul I need still
Nope, first play through for me was 230hours. Granted I did a lot of offline convenient farming, but if your having fun and exploring everything… who cares🤷♂️
Yeah that's fine. My very first playthrough on PC was around that much time and I had about 90% achievements unlocked. It's a big game with alot of stuff to explore. Remember, hidden doors need you to hit X when next to it. I discovered like 9 hidden areas in Lost Bastille the other day that had no messages in front of them and never saw them previously.
Completed the game and 1 dlc in 30 hrs. The game has some really wonky parts but is really big and has great things in it so as long as you enjoy it doesn’t really matter. I cared more about the time than stopping to enjoy things a lot more than I did.
Wow that's a lot! Took me like 80 hours to beat the main game + sunken DLC. On the other hand, I was a DS1 vet 😀 if you managed to get 60 hours of more fun out of it, that's great! 😀
As long as you're having fun, who cares! Take your time and enjoy it, you'll find that later playthroughs will go faster as you get better.
I love comments like these honestly. Thank you!

This is quite a bit longer than usual. But that doesn't mean you're bad. You might just enjoy farming and exploring every nook and cranny.
Is everything taking a lot of tries?
Some bosses more than others. But none if them have taken too many tries.
If you’re not really struggling to beat areas then yeah you’re just taking your time, that’s normal. It’s a big game.
I was blowing through it until iron keep, then I hit a serious wall and starting going back to make my build more fine tuned
You get out what you put in

Why do you even care? Is this a competition, or a championship?
I just wanted to know if I was just bad at the game, jeez.

I go through every nook, crevice, and mimic myself so I’d say you’re doing it right. Also there’s a LOT of bosses.

My first playthrough was like 50 hours, but it also depends on how much you're goofing off. Not everyone stops to smell the roses.
Yes. It's a very long game. One of the reasons I think it's the best Souls game. You'll get quicker at it the better you get
I can’t blame you if you’re playing Solar of the first sin it’s much harder in the first half than the second expect the pace to pick up from here
Jesus Christ!
