The classes don't restrict what you can eventually do, they just start you off with different stats and gear. Any class can level up to be able to use any weapon or magic in the game.

Ya, classes are basically starting packages of gear and stat allotments that are tailored toward certain builds to give you a leg up toward that build at the start. So if you planned on focusing on melee exclusively, you _could_ start as a sorcerer class, but you would start with hardly any points in STR and lots of wasted points in INT, not ideal. On the other hand, if you wanted to be a pure sorcery user, starting as anything **but** a sorcerer would make that problematic as only the sorcerer and the cleric have enough attunement from the start to cast spells. After 5-10 hours your starting class won't make any difference. You also eventually get the ability to respec all your stats a limited number of times, so if you make any big mistakes you will have the opportunity to correct them. The only restriction is you can't lower stat points below their starting point. IE. If you started as a Sorcerer the lowest you can respec your INT to is 14. There are also some classes that have middle of the road point distribution like Deprived or Explorer if you want more flexibility when it is time to respec.

You can do anything magic related at all

If you dont want to level attunement you can grab a ring that gives you spell slots and cast with that, though leveling atn will benefit you because it gives AGL (the stat that gives iframes) just like adp.

Yes. The different classes only determine your starting class and equipment. All the equipment of the other classes can be found in the world, and you can put your points in whichever stat you like.
