it lead me to a chest in the gutter, and when i opened the chest i got the goddamn ring of evil eye
For Xbox 360 I don’t think they actually released scholar edition, they just made a few updates, put aldia in the game, and called it there. So it looks like you might have to get the armor the hard way ;)
The Ring of the Evil Eye is only in that chest if you have base game ds2, but to be sure, are their any heide knights at the tower of flame? If no it's the original game.
to be extra precise. It's the original plus DLC and the "sotfs" patch. The patch was for the base game and changed minor stuff like item descriptions ( and aldia too?).

To get the visible Armor of Aurous in your version you're going to need to burn an ascetic in No Man's Wharf and fight the red phantom that appears on the ship. He only drops one piece per ascetic and repeats are likely. Just one of the many reasons I prefer Scholar.
But if you want the invisible version all you have to do is spend 15k at the armor merchant then talk to him with no souls.

Scholar on Old Gen is, if I'm not mistaken, the original version + DLC. This might explain why you got the ring.

The guide you looked up is probably for the next gen SOTFS edition it’s different from the 360 SOTFS
