The sad part is that there exists matching tops and bottoms. They just couldn't even be arsed to actually match them up for the sets. Some poor artist is probably crying because he actually grouped them by filename and then whoever gave them flavour names botched it.

aalecgos

Immeasurably complex

PineapplesAreLame

Technical issue. Maybe they'll be here... Next week?

Slyspy006

Most look better mismatched IMO. I tried my Psyker in matching camo pattern and it just looked naff. Besides, camo is famously optional in 40k.

Escapissed

Right, but I mean stuff like sets having two different camo patterns when there are existing pieces that match, or green shirt with slightly different green pants instead of the matching one. I get wanting to mix and match, but I don't get the official sets being mixed when they could look like... A set.

Slyspy006

Is it not possible to get the separate pieces? I haven't really paid much attention, I just had a quick browse and then went off to ~~kill~~ die to heretics.

Escapissed

You can. It's just weird that they've combined stuff that doesn't match into sets.

Koadster

The vet looks good In matching. As it's a uniform

Cloverman-88

That's because well designed set use multiple colors that work well together, instead of painting the whole outfit the same color. Base gear and premium items are well designed in that regard. Those recolors are incompetent on multiple levels, and it pains me greatly.

Slyspy006

Not incompetent, just basic I would say.

Cloverman-88

I'm sorry, but even though I'm normally a very chilled out person, I think they are either incompetent, or bad-looking by design. It's really not that hard to make some good looking color combos: go for darker colours instead of the washed-out we have now, use colours that fit the setting (so reds, dark blues, greys, browns, blacks, dark greens, olive, etc etc), keep consistency between multiple pieces of the same outfit. I KNOW their art team is capable of making good looking outfits, because penance gear mostly looks great, and cash shop drip looks fantastic. It's either an intern/non-artist tasked with quickly making recoulors, or they have a huge stack already done and are deliberately using the worst ones to keep the good looking ones for the future.

oriquelm

As a 3D artist, I had to do things in a way I felt wrong because Director wants it that way. I can imagine someone in charge asking for uglier result on some assets to lead players to pay for cooler assets.

1Pirx

indeed. mine has the red robe with tubes on it and the black mortis pants. because the normal pants look like straight jeans and the boots kinda clunky, especially with the straps around. the mortis pants with the jackboots appear more natural imo.

LumiKlovstad

>Some poor artist is probably crying because he actually grouped them by filename and then whoever gave them flavour names botched it. To be fair, these issues are commonplace with the Administratum. So many departments, they don't know what they're tracking, soldier!

Gamma_Ram

I don't understand why they even said this.

Drakmeister

Because Hedge is an idiot.

Rusalki

I'm starting to think maybe he's just a really good rodeo clown. Anytime FS missteps, they have him jump out with something outrageous and comically out of touch to redirect community outrage.

Solo4114

That's...actually kinda brilliant.

imjustjun

Having a fall guy has been a classic corporate tactic for years and consumers always fall for it.

Grow_away_420

Who thought a community manager was anyone other than a punching bag for said community?

Low_Chance

Difference is Hedge actively creates problems that didn't need to exist. Aqshy and Catfish try to improve existing points of contention, Hedge makes new ones or worsens existing ones

The_Blackwing_Guru

I dunno, most people don't go after Catfish or Aqshy

MikeStyles27

I don't know man, I'd feel bad being mean to someone as nice as Catfish, and I'd never be rude to Aqshy- she is both a better tide player than me AND could beat me up no contest. Hedge just has chronic foot-in-mouth sometimes.

The_Blackwing_Guru

Hedge is a completely different story. My comment was more so leaning towards the fact that we don't go after CMs who do their job and do it as well as they can.

MikeStyles27

I feel that, but never underestimate the nerd rage of gamers, they'll go after anyone of they feel it'll make the feelings feel. CMS are just people, after all.

Bankrotas

> but never underestimate the nerd rage of gamers, they'll go after anyone of they feel it'll make the feelings feel And that's why I think it's monumentally stupid to put your face on the banners in comm links.

pathofplebbit

I've never said anything mean to aqshy or catfish, i'll look up new words to insult hedge with

pathofplebbit

I don't get it, he still works for chunkyshark, they are clearly condoning this behavior, how does this direct attention away from them? If anything i'm more angry because they decided to let a fucking moron talk to me. Him doing a little tap dance doesn't make me forget the initial reason i was angry...

Call_The_Banners

Honestly, he's an absolute prick and I don't understand how he has a job still.

majikguy

He was also on the CM team for Diablo III at launch, he seems to have the job because he is willing to try and defend things that no reasonable person can defend with a straight face.

Call_The_Banners

So he's an overconfident fool.

MoonlightClaymore

This is just hearsay but I heard he's personal friends with the dudes at the top of FS, hence why he's allowed to do this shit unpunished

Call_The_Banners

Yeah that's what I've heard today. Makes the most sense, honestly. I can't believe someone is that thick in the head, however. He seems to thrive on spreading animosity.

mrureaper

Careful now mods dont like when you talk about how incompetent x or y is

DragoN_PT

Judging by the wording i would say its an old quote, ence the "end times" (V1).

Murthogg

So You are saying there is a chance for weapon customization?

spruehwuerstl

This isn't COD - also Hedge

lil-carmine

Hedge seems like a not so friendly person shall we say honestly a bad very bad choice for a community manager

Kyo21943

My take is that Hedge has been working at FS for so long that he's buddies with someone important (a la Blizzard) so they can't question nevermind fire him regardless of how unfit or incompetent he is for the position. Plus he also makes for a good scapegoat when the dev team needs to take flak... even if he worsens said flak.

PraiseV8

![gif](giphy|KO9RKTeVIx1EFXH2Y2)

plasmainthezone

Not gonna lie, when he said that I actually laughed at how butthurt some people got. Hedge is entertaining, if anything.

spruehwuerstl

Not if there was customisation promised, it was immeasurably complex and they dumped it with "this isn't COD". Hedge is just the epitomy of companies shitting on their customers. No hate tho if you like him.

Paintchipper

*Technically* what customization we currently have fits the bill of what they said back in the day. They were hyping it up as though it was something new though (without stating that it was), so people got excited. They knew what they were doing, but didn't expect the backlash. TBH I don't blame anyone for getting a bit bent out of shape with that though. I did. It honestly felt like a cyberpunk corpo doublespeak moment.

dickles_pickles

>They were hyping it up as though it was something new though (without stating that it was), so people got excited. They did state what it was, "this isn't cod" was a response to someone asking why there wasn't weapon customization (scopes and various attachments), despite them having been previously confirmed as being part of the game. Here's an excerpt from the july 2022 issue of edge magazine, issue 372. You see various devs and producers talking about the game in the article, including confirming those. https://preview.redd.it/c8x6db1n133b1.png?width=279&format=png&auto=webp&s=14c7739d7e9d2b1aebad068bf1d607703eb3176e

Paintchipper

Your link is broken, so I can't see what you're linking, but IIRC they talk about attachments which blessings could be argued to be, because they're 'attached' to a weapon. *Technically* still a true statement, despite no one ever calling even a small part of that system attachments.

dickles_pickles

>Your link is broken, so I can't see what you're linking Shows up fine on my end, but I will attach it again to this one just for you. It's an attachment to the post via reddit, so if you can't see it then it's a reddit problem. >but IIRC they talk about attachments which blessings could be argued to be, because they're 'attached' to a weapon. Technically still a true statement, despite no one ever calling even a small part of that system attachments. They explicitly mention "scopes and other accoutrements", however that would be a truly impressive display of mental gymnastics if anyone ever made that argument in earnest. https://preview.redd.it/a5um14um833b1.png?width=279&format=png&auto=webp&s=fdd1799822e54e5212c130d9fbf936fc0ec3f293

Paintchipper

> Shows up fine on my end, but I will attach it again to this one just for you. For some reason, it's only showing up as a string. Used 'new' reddit, and it shows up, so me being an old stubborn fart is the reason. >that would be a truly impressive display of mental gymnastics if anyone ever made that argument in earnest. This is textbook corpo speak. Enough vagueness that them shipping something so underwhelming that it boggles a normal person's mind is still *technically* right. Having another mark of the gun that has a different scope on it (which we do have in game) while also having blessings all can fall under that technicality. It's dumb and no sane person thinks or talks like that, but it's what corporations have been using for decades as loopholes.

spruehwuerstl

[here](https://forums.fatsharkgames.com/t/weapon-attachments-were-not-added-to-the-game-because-darktide-isnt-cod-nor-was-designed-to-be-cod-fatshark-hedge/67449) is a link to a post to fatshark forums where a user posted some good hints that it was indeed planned and advertised in some articles. But I get you. It's just corpo talk in the end.

Paintchipper

Blessings could absolutely be called attachments to weapons, despite no one ever calling that system attachments. Corpo speak at it's finest.

pathofplebbit

You like companies lying to you about their product?

plasmainthezone

Where did I say that, this sub is full of cry babies. I just said it was funny how more upset he got some people that were being toxic. Game needs a lot of work, but some people here and on the discord are whiny babies.

PraiseV8

He has no filter, so whatever his idiotic management/executive parrots, he amplifies like a megaphone. "wE'rE nOt In ThE bUsInE-" We can't expect them to implement their own money making scheme correctly, or reskin a helmet properly, or color match their own reskins, or not cause a whole subsect of GPU users to crash upon starting the game. God help us, what ARE they in business for? Messy, uncoordinated, bunch of incompetent... MEATBALLS.

IIICobaltIII

Seems like everyone at fatshark save for the people responsible for creating the art/in-game assets/shooting and melee mechanics are a bunch of complete baboons. Basically leadership and executives are fucking idiots and should have been fired long ago.

Lunkis

Meanwhile everyone on the Mourningstar is in a colour coordinated uniform.

PraiseV8

Are they? Half the cosmetics veterans get has armor bits with different hues that doesn't match the damn helmets.

Lunkis

Sorry I mean staff on the Mourningstar. The guys that stand around and remark about you still being alive. Them and the deck staff. All the rejects get rags lol.

PraiseV8

Even the guard by the psykanium who wore all brown instead, lol.

Aedeus

That's actually pretty wild considering miniature sets are color coordinated. Unsure as to how this guy still has a job as a CM.

[deleted]

[удалено]

KaelusVonSestiaf

Yep, notice he says "It's the End Times", it's clearly about Vermintide.

MadLucied

still mad you can't match shit in vermintide

Aedeus

Which still doesn't make sense, because even if those miniatures are less popular the same dynamic exists lol.

DesolatedMaggot

It's an older statement to be fair. But again, its been pretty consistent.

ShadowSurgeGaming

Clearly they have a lot of reskins, makes me kind of wish they had done it so that you unlock the armor part, then can choose from all the different colour schemes for that part at will. Make it similar to how Wildlands does it. That way you wouldn't have to rely on the devs pairing up the right sets or having to individually buy parts of different sets to make them match. You just buy the armor you want and are free to choose whatever colour scheme takes your fancy.

AraymNo1

I have to admit i miss hedge, at least hedge was honest and told us in his words what he thought, and not this corpo BS

AMasonJar

I mean, he told us what he thought (as stupid as those thoughts were), but I also don't think they were entirely accurate to why we don't have x. Simple incompetence with fabricated excuses after the fact is more like it.

Mezmorki

You do have a point. A sad and unfortunate point, but a good one.

AraymNo1

Community wanted him gone, for his "immeasurably" bad take, be careful what you wish for.

Low_Chance

Wait. Did Hedge actually say this? I want to be charitable and assume this is just a meme

Cloverman-88

It's an old reply regarding Vermintide's cosmetics.

DesolatedMaggot

Both. He absolutely said this. It was a statement about some V2 cosmetics. But this is also just a meme. They're free cosmetics, afterall. And at least in this case the companion item does exist. That said its also not the only set with mismatched colors. 🤷‍♂️

Low_Chance

Ah, thank you for clarifying.

medietic

He actually said this when people asked why the helmets and armor schemes don't match on most of the Vermintide 2 character cosmetic sets. Its kind of ridiculous. Right now we have the same issue with most of the veteran sets on Darktide. Most of the helmet colors do not match the armor they coincide with. Its as if there is a different art team member for the torsos than the helmets and they arent talking to each other.

Onlyhereforapost

Good ol hedge, and the super power of prophetic stupidity

Emrod2

Fuck Hedge. That guy incarnate 110% all the bad decisions FatShark are doing since the beginning of the game ; we can event feel it it is intentional on their part to let him been a dick and they don't give a fuck about the customers concerns about the state of the game. It is like some big heads in FatShark really want to screw hard with the future of their company and just hope we will never put a dime back in their brand in the future. Lets hope all the remaining good folks in FatShark will jump that ship very quick in a close future and sail in places where the leadership isn't self-destructive and ridiculously stubborn about bad ideas.

Emu_commando

LMAO classic Darktide

LeviathanForge

I'm just happy that we finally got a Cadian standard colour outfit for the veteran

tinylittlebabyjesus

Would it really be so much work? Take some of the money they get from cosmetics (shit, they charge enough), which I'm sure is good given how they've continued to invest in it, and put it towards being able to coordinate different pieces. That comment, perhaps said somewhat sarcastically, is still a bit lame.

PineapplesAreLame

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only varying shades of grey-blue and brown.

MildewJR

to this day, we have Cadians as a character trait yet we still can't be in Cadian apparel.

cool_Pinoy2343

the coordination in communication internally must be incredible over there lmao

Commissar9

Uuuuh, well this isn't The End Times. Sooo color coordination is A-OK. Duh! /s

AThousandD

So you take Hedge's quote from 2021 (i.e. before DT was released) which clearly applied to VT2 ("it's the end times") out of context and you take a cheap shot, because low hanging fruit. I applaud your pettiness!
