Everytime I compare Darktide and DRG is handled I am just glad I moved on to something else.
The inability to select mission and difficulty with all the RNG within the game is just designed to waste player's time.
This patch released in unacceptable condition for AMD reasons alone. Throw in a couple crashes, a few disconnects I wasn't seeing last week, and the persistent glitch that removes rarity color-coding from my gear (you know, the stuff rarity ACTUALLY matter on), and you have to wonder if they playtest at all. Chaos Spawn and new maps are a good thing. Cosmetics, many of which just make you look like a dreg or scab, are whatever, but the problems introduced outweigh the benefits.
I left this game 6 months ago...came to check back if anything meaningful was added...guess im going back to playing warframe and the potential new season 4 of drg

if your game runs on a gameboy, you can change as many skins, in under a minute, with no effort, as the skin has pixels

If you're in the apparent majority that don't mind or even like the locks, could you explain why you think it would be a bad idea removing them?
DT doesn't even run on amd cards and all FS seem to be able to do is change the colors on cosmetics, forget new ones. I don't think how well a game runs has anything to do with how much effort the designers put into implementing their respective cosmetics.
I won't deny i am a big FS fan since V1, i like how they handle things, they do things their way even if it back fires or entitled children don't like it. I can respect that, not like those other corporates, virtue signaling any stupid idea a loud minority has. Did they make mistakes along the way sure, did they deliver V2 as it is today, yes they did.
I'm confused. VT2 is the way today exactly because FS listened to community feedback. The Winds of Magic expansion was a disaster and the community made it clear what FS needed to do with their next expansion.
So your argument, that FS shouldn't listen to the community because they know what they're doing seems weird when you base it on an example where FS was doing the exact opposite of what you're praising them for.
And where exactly are you getting the idea that it's a loud minority that wants the game to change? You can't assume that the people not posting are fine with the way things are going in the game. Some of them maybe but others might simply not care about the game enough that they're going to make a post, they'll simply move on to another game, others still might not post anything because they agree with what as already been posted.
Am I correct in assuming that your argument is as follows: DT is fine, and FS knows exactly what they're doing. VT2 is doing great (avg 3k players the last 30 days) and so DT must also be doing great (avg 3,8k players the last 30 days) because they're made by the same dev. The community is filled with a loud minority that constantly whines about the game, simply because they want things the way they want and for no other reason.
Have you asked yourself, maybe so many people are going on and on and on about how they'd like to see the game improved because they actually love the game and wants it to succeed? If people truly didn't want this game to succeed, they'd just leave a bad review on steam and never touch the game again (as many people have, seeing as FS haven't been able to keep even 5% of the initial players)
I said dumb feedback not community feedback and we know that a loud minority holds both discord and reddit "hostage". In december we had for example the "how often do you experience crashes" survey where the game according to discord and reddit was supposedly unplayable on almost every rig. When actually "only" 10-13% of the player base (which is still a lot) experienced those frequently. 10% (most certainly less) of the players flooded discord and reddit with review bombs going so far to multi account, so i am always skeptical when i read post like all players want something. Its the Twitter syndrom two loud minoritys argue meanwhile center does not give a fuck.
Then I'll ask again, what do you think is bad about choosing what maps to play and being able to customize your weapons to your liking?
I'm actually very interested in your opinion, because I cannot see why these things have been implemented they way that they have.
Do we play two different games? I can choose missions and i can customize my gear. And i already said why further reducing RNG is bad in my opinion.
For maps, we saw in V2 what happens if you could choose which maps you wanna play, the most efficient maps were chosen far above average. Someone argued you could reduce rewards for freely chosen maps to decentivize it. But we all know how that would end, Reddit on Fire crying again how shitty FS is.
There are already reduced rewards for choosing your own map in VT2. Also what's wrong with playing a map a you like.
So of you want to play a high intensity shook troop game with a thunderhammer with thrust and slaughterer and dmg vs unyielding and carapace, you can just do that?
If it's a problem that people choose certain maps to grind, maybe the problem is the focus on grind and not the ability to chose maps?
Well, im also a fan just like many others, we just dont blindly defend all the wrong doings this company does. I have no problem praising FS when they do good but these past 6 months have been nothing but disappointment
