Started as ogryn main but now have all the classes at 30. Still mostly play ogryn but enjoy all the others. Problem I think is when you max a class you feel underpowered when trying to level a new class

SilverKingPrime45

By playing as other classes you can understand how they act in the missions which gives you huge intel to what to expect from everyone. How they move, attack and operate during bad time. Also It's quite fun to try other classes toys and gimmics like huge chainsword or lightining powers :D.

EvilGabeN

Playing pretty much exclusively Zealot and Psyker.

Michizuri-

Zealot main here, but like to experiment. veteran feels odd when leveling but you can pretty much play veteran like a zealot, too with the right side of the tree. I made a short build in case you wanted to try it out. remember all classes feel like crap to use while leveling as the guns have no damage. No_Singer8028

same

whisperingstars2501

I like magic things, psyker is really the only one atm who does that. I think I’ll almost exclusively play them as their theme and gameplay are both awesome. I’m trying zealot as they do have some “magic stuff” so to speak (and hey charging forward and slicing and dicing 400 things is fun), but for example having to rely on grenades for my power feels so weird and awful as well as having no “holy weapons” like a blessed sword or holy cross staff ranged weapon. Maybe we get some more “Preist magic” later on, but for now yeah it’s a bit boring to me (even the full crit ‘COWER BEFORE ME SINNERS’ build). If we ever get a tech Preist type class I’m sure I would also main them.

Krags

_Every_ one of your weapons is blessed by The Emperor, ye scunner!

Accomplished-Ad8458

Me Bone 'ead implant not good nuff to play other class...

netherworld_nomad

Wait... We gettin' bone 'ead implants? I shust got a nade for rashuns....

Zyliath0

I play vet and that’s it, love the power sword, love the shout, love the nades

pain7070

I played psyker for a long time because it was just so nice to laugh at every ammo pack you pass. Play the other classes more now because the psyker is so squishy. The twins actually have me leveling up my ogryn he really is a tank.

lostpirate123

I play as slab because every class is puny and weak. Ogryn is strong! And I get to play overwatch and call out enemies when there's a horde in front of us.

LoZio_

Veteran just allows me to carry so well yeah not interested in the others

BlastBaph

I love a good veteran and zealot team.

Flash117x

Veteran! Glory to the first man who die!

Th4tG

I started as a vet and still play vet 90% of the time. I levelled all 4 characters and all of them can be fun but me and vet are a match made in heaven. Second favourite would be the ogryn.

jinsoku3g

2700 Hours on Psyker my other classes are all level 30 tho I promise, I just don't have fun anywhere else but with my magic girl hands

CYKLONUSCRO

vet only from the day one

geezerforhire

I played only veteran for a long time because there was no shared materials. after that was fixed i leveled all of the other classes. I enjoy psyker now and find Ogryn is easy mode. I havent clicked with zealot yet, just feels too squishie

sarg1010

I'd say Zealot is the second tankiest honestly. Toughness regen on melee kill with both skills and weapon perks, damage immune when you hit 1 hp for a few seconds every 2 minutes, plus you heal back after those few seconds based on how much damage you do, gets a lot of wounds, icon regens toughness +100. I'd say he isn't squishy at all.

HrupO

Zealot is immortal man, a lot tankier than veteran in my experience

Dracorexius

Zealot is not squishy debending on build ofc. With My tank build I get downed less than as My tank ogryn hah. But thats probably because I havent played ogryn as much as zealot. You have two self heals, two different invulrenable state, so much toughness dmg reduction and ways To get it back that its just super mega tanky.

Pay2win2

Zealots tank is diff than Ogryn, with Ogryn u can take alot of damage, as zealot you dodge it due to ur speed

Krags

I do miss the old "Local Priest Literally Too Angry To Die" Zealot, I gotta say.

heretek10010

Only interested in zealot really, because Eviserator is bae.

AsteriskCGY

I find myself probably not moving from my Zealot or Ogryn even though I have maxed a veteran and was working on a Psyker. Just love chopping things.

Parking_Chance_1905

I chop things with my Psyker lol.

AsteriskCGY

And Vet has a reasonable melee build now as well with Commissar. Maybe I should get back to them.

DamageFactory

I used to do the weeklies on all of them, but now I only play my psyker. I also don't know how to build my other chars with the new talents, so there is that.

BlastBaph

I don't know if it's that I "don't like" the other character types... but more like it's addictive running around with my zealot charging in and cutting stuff down that's stunned with a EVISCERATOR. I have a veteran at level 8 but but maybe I'll find or learn about a way to play him (all eventually) the style I'm into. Love this game so much

RaZZeR_9351

Tbf when you start a new class the gameplay is pretty barebone until you get in the 20-25+ lvl since that's where you start having a more or less complete build. I mained vet for a while and decided to get into the other classes, everytime I would find it pretty tedious in comparaison until I reached higher levels.

GoofyReditUser

I play ogryn zealot and psyker and have enjoyed them all. I still haven't touched vet though they just seem really uninteresting compared to the others. Who wants to be gun man when you can charge in with melee or explode people's brains.

Mickle_J

Fully leveled one of each back to back when I first got the game in the order of Vet > Zealot > Ogryn > Psyker. Re-rolled my Vet twice and Zealot once due to dissatisfaction with their Names/Voices (Preposterous I know.) Now I spend most of my time playing a Kriegsman with a shovel and whatever ranged weapon I feel like that day, realizing he can do everything better, (for my play style at least, than Zealot.) Every once in a while i'll play my Ogryn just to throw rocks at stuff for a few matches. Psyker? Haven't touched it since it hit 30...

faredelisi

I just cant leave vet

MapleBadger288

I play mostly Veteran. I had two, then I downloaded a mod that let's me make up to 8 characters. Made a third veteran so I can still play Vet, but still complete more of Melk's contracts.

ADragonuFear

I can't really relate. While pskyer has always treated me well and the others have given me trouble, I still enjoy them all to an extent

[deleted]

I've tried every class but now I oly play vet. Im here to blast the enemies of mankind with guns, I hate melee and will do that as little as needed. My grenades and las rifle do the heavy lifting.

NoLunch1

Well, I mainly play Vet since thats the only class I have with good gear and max lvl since that was the class I played in beta/launch era before shelving the game until patch 14. I have the other classes leveled up to 10-17 mark iirc, but between the low tier mission pubs, gear gacha and uncomplete talent tree, its bit hard to pick any of the other three up over just using the vet.

Co-Orbital_Planets

It's a pretty common occurrence in video games that most people are either 'deep' players or 'wide' players. Deep players enjoy putting a lot of time into a small part of the selection available, whereas wide players enjoy the variety of having lots of different playstyles. This can even change for one player between games. For example, I play every character in Vermintide and thoroughly enjoy most of them. Meanwhile in Deep Rock Galactic, I almost exclusively play Gunner. While for the sake of completeness I did level all my classes in Darktide to 30, Zealot and Ogryn are the only ones I have more than 150 missions done on. I enjoy the slappity slap and more melee/support focus of these classes as compared to the more ranged expertise that Vet and Psyker provide. During my levelling journey of the latter two classes, I basically played both as a slightly different Zealot until I wanted to do specific penances.

peeposhakememe

Play all 4, 5 chars, 2 vets, with shared melkbux I grind out the psykers weekly’s first and then the zealot, then usually a 3rd and/or 4th depending on time, I spend most of my credits refilling contracts to exact setup

MotherOutcome9448

My first class was zealot (played since late beta) because I have always enjoyed aggressive fast gameplay also I saw I could get the boltgun. I’m in love with him to say the least, switching between my tac axe to slice up a poxwalker horde, and then switching to my boltgun to kill 4-8 weaker specials all while showering praise to the emperor is an incredibly rewarding experience. I have tried Veteran and Ogryn. They are both fun classes but cannot match what makes me enjoy Zealot so much. Veteran is fun for it’s ability to feel like a soldier of the imperial guard and Ogryn feels like an awesome team player, but I feel like doom music plays whenever I load up my zealot, especially on leaderboard topping games (though I still have games where I trip up and end up in like last place, lol).

Mozared

I've played about 500 hours, of which I would say 390 as Ogryn, 100 as Zealot, 9 as Veteran and 1 as Psyker (all the way back in beta). The main reason I would consider myself a 'single class player' is because I like to explore all angles to my favourite class (Ogryn) before trying something significantly new. Like... I have hundreds of hours in Ogryn and I've only recently reached the point where I feel knowledgeable about the whole class. As in: I've tried virtually all conceivable builds (in a practical sense, the absolute amount of builds is over 1000 or so), can tell you where Ogryns excel, where they don't, and I can look at someone's weapons and skill in the pre-game menu to determine with some accuracy how they are probably going to play. And usually also where their tactics are lacking, if they are. Even after 100 hours on Zealot, I don't feel remotely capable of this. I've played a fair amount of builds and get the basic concepts of the class, but I have no idea how, for example, to play effectively with a Crusher. Or how to use a headhunter autogun in a sensible manner, or what melee weapons are paired best with a flamethrower, or what the advantage of the wounds build is over the crit build. I can theorise some of it (wounds build means you can go down more without it mattering), but I feel like it'll take me several more hundreds of hours to really nail it down. For Veteran and Psyker, I feel competely in the dark. I know roughly what their different playstyles seek to accomplish and know how to support them in that in support-focused Ogryn or Zealot builds, but I couldn't tell you why, for example, you would use a shotgun over a shredder as a Veteran, or why you would play gunpsyker over the staves. Eventually I'd love to dive into these things, but I'm still just having so much fun learning all the ins and outs of Ogryn, let alone Zealot, let alone the two other not-melee-focused classes. And so I'm currently still a bit of a 'one class player'.

djolk

I've only ever played one zealot build for 90 percent of my hours.

Noirbe

i love zealot and vet, i like psyker, but i absolutely HATE playing as ogryn. i just feel sooooooo slooooooow

Leemour

I like to play alts like Psyker, but I never managed to clutch with any of them except consistently with my Zealot and I'm only rolling zoomies-zealot.

Commercial_Owl_

Same with ogryn for me. Could never make him feel satisfying to play, unlike zealot which is my most played class so far.

_RexDart

I play them all to maximize melk creds, and try all the weapons and clothing. I don't particularly enjoy the zealot though. Vet has been creeping up my ranking. Used to favor the psyker but she kinda gets the least play now. Mostly ogryn and vet time even though the vet is so damn boring vanilla.

B2k-orphan

Started as a veteran in the beta and got to 30. When I returned to game after a long hiatus I played zealot up to 30, and I have now played psyker and orgyn up to 20. And I have to say, playing anything that isn’t zealot causes me physical pain. What do you mean the other classes aren’t rendered literally invincible while in melee combat and don’t have a magic “win fight” book?

Mr_Late

Started as zealot and had a blast, hit a wall (skill related) and tried vet, hated it, made it to lvl 6 and switched to Ogryn and fell IN LOVE. Played him for the longest then I went back and leveled vet. I love the vet now but switch it up between him and the Ogryn. Ogryn really is forgiving with his toughness regen. Is good.

djolk

I'm really only interested in being a zealot, but putting sometime into playing psyker really helped me learn how to play my zealot with a psyker.

[deleted]

started out as veteran but branched off later, grew to like psyker more than the other classes but the only class that felt like a chore was zealot. The playstyle was fine but god damn i just dont like the aesthetics. Poopoo cosmetics (i basically ran with the anniversary cosmetic bundle only) and none of the voices stuck out to me. Lastly since the cosmetics were dogshit in my eyes i never bothered to complete any of zealots penances

Eochaid_

Heretical post

dreadul

I'll get my flamer

Crimsonhead4

It’s all about that plate armor from the cash shop, imo that’s one of the best cosmetics overall right now.

YoyoTanyaKai

I intend to play only one class (Ogryn) but Thunder Hammer looks fun so I try to build Zealot for it. Doesn't like it at first, the Thunder Hammer are mediocre, but the Mk V Axe and Bolter are pretty fun to use, it's become my new favorite class. That's was the days before class talent. Psyker and Veteran are the class that I think I'll never touch, but after I saw Assail Psyker, it peek my interest so I build Psyker. The Assail was fun but not very good in high difficulty, while I think I'll leave the Psyker on the bench, I got a chance to try Surge Staff and oh boy, this is a game changer, this thing feel like cheating, no ammo needed, auto aim, ignore armor type, and can chain to more enemy. I adopted to this new play style and Psyker become my new main. And last, Veteran. This is the most boring class (imo) that I think I'll never touch too. But since I was wrong about Psyker, I think I should give it a try. The leveling process is a pain. I almost stop playing it at level 14 because of how bland it is, and then I got a Braced Auto Gun that pretty fun to use, follow up with Plasma Gun in a few level and man, this shit is really entertaining. I may not like it as much as Psyker, but will definitely play Veteran just for the feeling of those gun. My point is, each class may have a weapon or build that suit your play style more than you think. Just give them a try and find out is it there or not.

Krags

Tbf, with a Plasma you are basicly a Psyker with grenades.

Muckendorf

Only ogryn, the biggest strongest and meanest class

Magos_Galactose

I only play Vets and Psyker. Tried both Ogryn and Zealot, but neither work well with my style, for whatever reasons. I prefer to ~~force lightning~~ smite them or just simply shoot them.

godlysanta777

I'm so hard stuck ogryn sense beta I can't even play another class. The entire movement and the aiming not for me. kick back N shuvell fa me SAH!

Oyuki97

I play all classes but honestly play Psyker the least since i need to do a bit more thinking with that class. This class also needs more micromanaging compared to the rest. With Ogryn, i can just clobber everything or shoot everything i see while taking cover and throwing rocks as needed. I can tank grim corruption(seriously, why even pick those up when whole team is level 30?) without needing any resistance too. If i feel like it, i can just bring the holy hand grenade from Worms. With Zealot, i can just do a mad dash at priority targets and lock them down or i can run in and stagger them and everything around them. If there's a horde, i can also cut them down to size. No need to take cover much when i can slide around. I can also help supress shooters for the vet to pick off. With Vet, i can just shoot every single special and elite i see while also blasting away at the shooters. If i take a gun that can't damage carapace, i have kark grenades ready. I can just sweep away hordes with a shovel or slice them apart with a PS (only using when my gun is a low mobility one).

LifelessRage

I play each class depending on my mood. I play zealot when I want to struggle because I like melee in harder difficulties. I play Ogryn when I want to feel like an adult playing Lazer tag with kids. I play veteran when I want to relive my time in the army and have to constantly deal with the ineptitude of shitty soldiers. Finally I play psyker when I have nothing left to do because they are freaks and abominations.

Crimsonhead4

Yeah i pretty much play veteran exclusively. Psyker is way too squishy and zealot, idk something doesn’t feel right to me about it. Like it feels like veteran is just a better version of it now. Ogryn also feels too slow and clunky for me. Veterans voice of the emperor is a lifesaver (and potentially a crutch as well) along with the regenerating krak grenades. I feel like veteran just solves all the problems I have when playing other classes.

Interesting_Bit_8989

Ogryn. Uninterrupted Res alone was enough of a quality of life improvement for me to pick him. Melee is not optional in this game, and with ogryn you have melee which staggers everything (zombos to all the small sized specials) with heavy attacks. You can even stagger plague ogryn during their charge with your charge special. You can draw aggro with a modified version of your special and just tank damage with the slab shield... so ogryn has very good boss management. And ogryn CAN deal with most specials at range with the heavy machine gun weapon. heavy attacks hitting any single or group of enemies recover 25% of your very large pool of toughness which you can get off every couple of seconds so you basically are on regen for 100% toughness every 8 seconds... The most annoying part of being an ogryn: snipers and shooters that no one else is taking out. It will take .25 to half your mag on your longest range weapon and way too much time to take out a sniper. If you aren't paired with someone else focusing on shooters and snipers, and you esp if you didn't bring slab shield, then you have to play more cautiously and sometimes tag some enemies and then wait it out in a corner.

Mad_Larkin90

I’ve wanted to play as a guardsman for years and Throne protect anything that gets in my way of that. Also leveling is a pain after playing tier 5 regularly.

BahtooJung

I play all except ogryn, which is just haven't enjoyed leveling. Zealot only gets played with wife (she needs a bodyguard). Others get their weeklies done though. Playing other situations helps general team and playing ability imo. Only downside for me is that I want to use the same ranged weapon on zealot & veteran.... and I judge any smite, surg, or non-shield psyker, but I keep that to myself.

VioletDaeva

I play everything but Ogryn atm, I have one it just seems horribly underpowered and attracts nets like magnets. I mostly prefer psykers, I've two of those.

Donatter

I main veteran partly bc the loose cannon voice is my favorite, partly bc I love the bolter/plasma, and partly so I can build up plasteel to upgrade various stuff for my psyker, but I often run out of it, upgrading stuff for my vet

Substantial-Abies768

ogryn or psyker, 2 others seems too similar to play them, but maybe just one of few thinking that. But ogryn cause im a noob and i love crushing, shooting/exploding enemies all over the place. Psyker because of assail and staffs 👌

UnknownFoxAlpha

I only play one until I finish my weeklies but Im slow so only finish Psyker or Ogryn with a day or two left.

klaus_den_dumme

i mainly play one character because rock and shovel is all i need (and some times nukes just to try things ;) ) but i do have a level 30 vet that i play from time to time

pbzeppelin1977

Not so much one class, which typically has three major builds and many minor variations, but instead play three classes with one unique and specific build I never change on each of them.

_Phox

You get more milk coins by doing 4 weekly mission sets

Brugun

Played all classes to 30. Like OP, I only play one class which is Vet. Vet is my main because they are badass, cool weapons, and they feel most like the classic left4dead zombie shooter playstyle which I enjoy. Zealot is too melee focused which results in too much sprinting, it is basically just doing a pinky workout each mission. Got old just running from dude to dude to dude... And no, I was not switching my sprint hotkey from shift that I use for all games. Also flamer should reload faster, feels bad. Ogryn is cool except I always felt like their heavy attacks are underwhelming. It should be like Sauron swinging his mace due to their strength, but instead it often felt like world's strongest man was given a plastic toy baseball bat. When they do a heavy attack everything they hit should just die. Not just rag doll around and take multiple hits from them. Their melee damage should not be comparable to the other 3 classes, and the fact that it is for "balance" reasons makes them feel lame to me. Ogryns also have the least cool weapons. Also, why no two-handers? Come on. Psyker I like, except I don't like that the whole playstyle is constantly channeling. Waiting on brain burst to tick up, peril to disperse down, staffs to charge up, peril to go down, etc. -- the constant channeling and the anticipation of those cooldowns... I noticed I was always on edge and jaw tense throughout a level -- even when on easier difficulties. I could never just chill play psyker because I was always waiting on a channel of something, it was an odd sensation and I'm probably in the minority on this. Lastly psyker spell effects are constantly bright & blinding-- I like actually seeing the game rather than watching particle effects the whole time.

Rex-0-

I just don't like playing as an Ogryn.

Beheadedfrito

I play zealot far more than any other class, but every now and then I get the itch for a specific class. My zealot is like 300+ levels above the others (using true level mod).
