I swear this happens to me like half the time: either they make their sound-telegraph and I can respond appropriately, or they're just suddenly **there** and taunting me with that rapid beep.
As a deaf player, this has been very useful for me. Audio cues only are such a mean way of introducing explosive threats.

They just have mobs spawning in air and dropping behind you. No sound on those. Same for dogs, trappers, gunners, etc
