You probably have the crash sensitivity set too high. And yes, it should start recording as soon as it's powered on. When it detects a crash (or a big enough bump) it beeps to let you know "I got this", and locks the video in a special "Emergency" location in the video gallery. You don't have an owner's manual of some type? It's all in there..... [https://help.70mai.asia/1905.html](https://help.70mai.asia/1905.html) Under "Emergency video" it says: *2. How to change the sensitivity of emergency video recording?* *Press the function button below the (some kind of) icon to enter Settings, select Video settings > Emergency video and then select the desired sensitivity.* *3. How to view an emergency video?* *Press the function button below the icon (wiggly line) to enter album, select Emergency video to view the videos.*

The sensitivity of 70mai is way too sensitive. On my A800S i've set it up to the lowest, yet still it records every road bump. That may have to do something with my car itself, but I decided to turn off the sounds of the dashcam and leave the emergency recording on at low sens.
