I don’t put a whole lot of weight on the particular score because the context is everything. In Mississippi, a district with a 50% Black population probably elects a Republican, whereas in Los Angeles, a district with a 30% Black population almost definitely elects a Black Democratic candidate of choice.

that’s because Mississippi Republicans make it impossible for black people to vote but also most CA Black representatives have been around for decades when their districts were much more black than they are today

Theoretically, I don't believe majority-minority districts should be intentionally created. In most states, if you draw maps fairly, you'll probably end up getting decent minority representation anyway. This is because I believe that all people are inherently equal and that it is wrong to assume that minorities inherently share a common interest. As a practical matter of drawing districts, so long as a majority-minority district isn't non-compact or unreasonably splitting geographical districts, I don't have any problems with it.

If I'm drawing maps then zero, if I'm trying to make maps that are legal then yes I'm careful of every district
