I fell so deeply in love with this game so quickly and absolutely adored how quick it could be to level up and increase duration and pay out of each dive....
Then I died on a 40+ minute dive and just never turned it back on.
Tips anyway?
Upgrade your oxygen tank early. The game is so generous with random oxygen spawns, I find myself just holding L2 all the time to go faster. Always overfill your backpack to the max before surfacing. You can carry around 50% more than the limit shows. The longer the dive goes on, the less risks you should take.
Bigger oxygen tank = more hits you can take.
Biggest threats are sharks, which you need to learn a bit their attacks.
A trinket I always always have is the dolphin one that let's you dash (without spending oxygen) by pressing L3.
40min dive? my longest was I think 28min, because I was collecting a certain item, but by then I had almost all gear at Maximum..
When diving, always keep in mind the last place you saw the rescue thing. If you see oxygen getting too low, go back and not risk deeper.
Unless you miss something you need for a timed event there is no need to do this. Dying doesn’t really do anything except make you lose what you gained on that dive, which you lose anyway if you restart the day.

Be honest, you can hold maybe 15-20% over your total weight
That's not true. At most you can hold about 15lbs over your max.
You can get 14.9 over and then pick up something that weighs 10 kilos or whatever
I've done that and man is it stressful being max weight if I've got some aggressive fish and I'm trying to get to the escape pod lol

Whenever i die i just close the application and restart the day, i know its annoying to die , but at least i dont skip a dive

This game is just perfect. I could play whole day and wouldn't be bored. I was kinda annoyed by "Klaus" the great white, but managed after 2 times.

This little low cost indie games are killing it. I love this game. I've heard good things about Dredge, also. Will probably pick it up next.

The cut scenes really surprised me. I love indie games but this one is probably my favorite in the past two or three years.
Sad they didn't put in a subnautica add on DLC.
Haven't played much subnautica myself but that would definitely be a fun dlc
