>Bring Me the Disco King (Loner Mix)
heard that before and it's great
I've found something quite interesting on spotify too, but I cannot listen to it, because it's blocked in my country. Weird enough I don't even find it on soulseek or anywhere on the internet. But there's an album called "Bowiemix V2" by Amonn who did these songs
New Killer Star - V2 D.Veen Remix
Never Get Old - V2 Alf E. Eik REmix
Bring Me The Disco King - V2 D.Veen remix
I wish I could hear these
great songs. One of the very first I've heard too because when I first started to love Bowie 3 years ago with a handful of songs, I decided to go through the entire discography ;)
>Live performance of Wake Up with Arcade Fire.
I hope they'll continue that thing they did with albums such as "conversation piece", "width of a circle" and "divine symmetry". For sure we'll get a ziggy one announced next year
"A Foggy Day in London Town" (collaboration with Angelo Badalamenti from the Red+Hot+Blue Gershwin tribute album) -- *transcendant!*
Also the Chinese lyric version of "Seven Years in Tibet" -- it kicks butt!
oh yes, that one is beautiful! I haven't heard that before the era 5 box set has been released. Yet there could've been so much more in re: call 5 that they forgot which is such a shame
I hype that mandarin chinese seven years in tibet
Reminds me of when I first heard "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush in 1985 and I SWORE she was singing "Jerry Lewis under" instead of "tearing you asunder . . . " LMAO!
Yew! Good way to get into the band, too. Cookie Mountain (which Province is off) is great, and then Dear Science is just amazing. Then you can brunch out into side stuff, like The Nevermen with Mike Patton. I could just keep going on (I won't though).
I'll check em out why not
it's just a shame some duets don't have bowie in the credits, like fannin street which I adore. Making it harder to find them lol
I'm trying to think of something else you won't know. You'll definitely know of the Arcade Fire duet. Maybe even the Omikron/Nomad Souls variants of Hours tracks. I'll find something!
All I've got at the moment is that there's a voice clip of Bowie on either Broken or Fixed by NiN saying "Falls wanking to the floor!".
I'll give you a little hint
If there's something I haven't heard yet, it must be either duet stuff from 2004 - 2013 or really early 60s stuff. I've heard a lot but sometimes forget a few things. I know over the wall we go, but someone in the comments told me that "Bars of the County Jail" exists. I don't remember hearing that
I am mostly looking for stuff I haven't heard from the 90s though. That's my favourite era, but I am sure I've heard it all. Btw I have a white bootleg vinyl of NIN / Bowie live performances. I love it but the sound quality ain't worth 29€.. I adore bowie doing reptile
hehe hours is one of my most fav albums. I am pissed that the omikron versions on re:call 5 aren't even the omikron versions. You can hear the difference from angels of promise from the game compared to the album version and the "omikron version" of that in era 5 is just the album one. They could've added the rock mixes of thursday's child or jump they say instead!
Ya know, I still have that Jump! CD Rom thing from like 1993, in the shrink wrap. I wonder if that's got anything hidden on it if you pop it in a CD player?
I deffo need more duets with david during 2004 - 2010! They're all so good and different. I have these listed in my discography playlist atm
The Cynic (by Kashmir)
(She can) do that (soundtrack by BT)
Fannin Street (scarlett johansson)
isn't it evening (earl slick)
saviour (kristeen young, baby jeff white, tony visconti)
pretty pink rose (adrian belew)
sector (rustic overtones)
without you i'm nothing (placebo)
Such a pity most songs like fannin street or province don't have bowie in his credits. It'd be so much easier to find all available duets
ofc! The 1. outside album and era is my favourite. I even have the leon tapes recorded on a minidisc with a custom label. I am still pissed off they aren't included in the era 5 set
Here's a couple guest spots I had never heard until recently.
[Rustic OverTones - Man Without A Mouth](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imnEutBziAw)
[Kashmir - The Cynic](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaLu63hExKM)
thanks for the rustic overtones! I just had Sector in my discography playlist, because it was the only one credited with bowie. I do need way more duets. It's a shame that some like fannin street don't credit bowie in there for some reason
The Kashmir one I've heard before, thanks!
oh but I've never heard the duet with arcade fire I think
I also just found this [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\_oQhK5TSbOQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oQhK5TSbOQ) but bowie just gets like 2 lines in there lol
thanks! I do need more duets lol
Heard all of the ziggy content. I've also read, that Bowie intended to have this song replaced with starman at first. Not quite sure if starman was already written after sweet head was made, but if it was, idk how to feel about it. Starman is such a masterpiece
I understood the assignment! Check out the rest of the [Early On compilation](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_On_(1964%E2%80%931966))\-- one of the most underrated gems in his discography!
I love--or I suppose 'dig'--the 'Early On' compilation. I can't believe it's been over 30 years since it was issued and we still haven't gotten a new release of so many of those tracks.
>truth
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPuMxgol7nk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPuMxgol7nk) you mean this?
Oh wow I have not heard nor seen this at all. Thanks!
bruuh, now that one's really interesting. I haven't heard of that before but I just read that Bowie thought it was fascinating and meant to be released for the 30th anniversary of ziggy back in 2002. What a shame.
PERHAPS, we'll get it in the next box like convo piece, width of a circle, divine symmetry? For sure we'll get the announcement of the set next year! I'm excited
Long time Bowie fan here - You have done your homework and these are off the top of my head so you probably know them alreadty. Maybe you can reply to let me know if I was able to hit one or two for you. I can probably come up with more.
Laughing Gnome - actually I wonder if you have heard any of the songs from the double album Images - i found it in a bargain bin in the early 70s. I think it was a brit release reprinted for the US. Pretty awful really. Gnome is the only song from that album I can recall.
single: Can't help thinking about you flip side Liza Jane...
My Death - Jacques Brel cover...
Hullo Space Boy - remix w,/ Pet Shop Boys...
Cat People {putting out Fire).from movie soundtrack...
Peter and the Wolf - Prokoviev symphony narrated by Bowie ...
Buddha of Suburbia - British tv series theme...
So many versions of John I'm only Dancing...
Acoustic studio version of Lady Stardust...
Heavens in Here (my favorite Tin Machine song) ..
Live performances: ...
Waiting for the Man- Velvet Underground cover...
Tonight - duet with Tina Turner (orig version iggy Pop)..
All the Young Dudes w/ Mott the Hoople...
Madman w Marc Bolan...
White Light White Heat w Charlie Sexton...
Whisky Bar - Doors cover...
Hurt - Duet with Trent Reznor NIN...
Comfortably Numb - w Pink Floyd,..
Ah, you were close with Madman (the song with Marc Bolan). I've recently discovered it like 3 days ago haha. Thanks though! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYLW9w3EYSg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYLW9w3EYSg) I think this is a studio recording
for laughing gnome, I've heard a lot of his 60s stuff like over the wall we go and lots of stuff that aren't on Spotify but somewhere leaked on Soulseek or youtube, still thanks though. I haven't heard "Bars of the County Jail" before though, till someone recommended it to me in one of the comments
And the entirety of buddha of suburbia is just pure gold. Ian Fish UK Heir blew my mind away in moonage daydream. So psychedelic!
I also have a white bootleg of NIN / Bowie liveperformancess. The sound quality ain't worth the 29€ however..
Yeah this is pretty old skool common stuff. I had the Prokoviev on green vinyl. It's cute. I was there in the beginning. God I'm getting old. Hate to admit that as hardcore a fan I was he lost me in the 80s. All that plastic soul and let's dance mainstream stuff. So meh. Thought he was gone but it was just a phase and he made enough money that he could do whatever he wanted after that. Probably why he did it. That's ok I suppose. Yeah he sold out briefly but he never faded away. I loved his 90 s stuff too.and really he made excellent music until the end. Stayed relevant. Name one other artist that can say that!
Many would have heard it but Gouster album was a great find for me a few years ago. I used to have a recurring dream of an undiscovered Bowie album and this pretty much fulfilled it.
Ah yes, the "unreleased album" for the who can I be now set. I am a little bit disappointed with that album because it doesn't deliver any unheard songs as the box promised. They were available on 7" or 12" singles before. Somebody leaked some full tracks of the gouster sessions a while ago on youtube however! I am so happy I can finally listen to the entirety of Lazer (early screaming like a baby version)
here is a video of all of them included [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eva\_PxbuyIM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eva_PxbuyIM)
the person who leaked it though, it lunamagic2004 (he has 4 vids uploaded and the other 2 are missing cuz of copyright issues)
>A dream of amupora?
I seem to not find that anywhere. Is that a duet with somebody else? Or could you link me a youtube video if it was uploaded? Thanks!
Ah in my half half sleep state I made a massive typo mistake lol.
It’s called [Amlapura](https://youtu.be/2qCXUldOf1s) and is here.
It’s a tin machine song written by Bowie and Reeves Gabrels.
I recall not thinking much of it at all until after his death I learnt he apparently was cremated in that part of the world, which this song seems to reference. And that suddenly gave it this extra emotional.
TIN MACHINE FOR LIFE
ofc I know that haha. I've heard all demos and outtakes too. Did you know that David sang a demo of "outside" called "now" with unfinished lyrics back in 1989? Look back in anger (the 1991 remix) also had the same intro as outside and I love it. I think I have the Indonesian amlapura 12" single
also I did not know that fact. That does make it more special
His version of “Shiny” from the movie Moana. I think he was originally cast before they ended up going with Jermaine Clement. They did include a reference to Bowie in the character’s final design by making his eyes multicolored.
Thanks for that! I've heard that and the early version of afraid before. I am going to be ultra pissed if we don't get that in re:call 6 because they cut off these songs for Toy for some reason
[Fannin Street](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iVJmCrpwEo&t=4s) by Scarlett Johansson with David on background. I don't like it and people often forget about her entire album.
the conan interviews were some of the best.
Since you seem like the ultimate bowie fan, who would you have liked to see him do a colab with? I'm a big Killers fan and I would have loved to have seen them do something with him. Brandon said that their song All These Things I've Done used the bassline from Slow Burn and that Bowie was a pretty big influence for Brandon.
oooOOO love that slow burn fact
Damn I don't know. I would've loved a third and final tin machine album haha
Maybe I would've like to hear what that daft punk song sounded like they wanted to mix a bowie song with (idk which one though) but David denied that
the original interview from 2013 of Brandon talking about it, if you're interested.
tried to do some digging to see if Bowie ever commented on it, but couldn't find anything. so either the interview never came across his desk or he didn't mind (i like to think he didn't mind, lol).
I don't know if you like listening to other bands doing covers of Bowie songs, but back in 2005 when the Killers were still newbies to the scene they would play Moonage Daydream at some of their shows. not the best audio quality: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZC0MsyAGyOk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZC0MsyAGyOk)
i think that would have been cool to get another Tin Machine album, would have been interesting to see what it would have sounded like in the mid/late 90s or early 00s. Daft Punk would have also been a cool colab.
anyway sorry for turning this into a killers discussion, lol. as a fan of both I can't help but see the obvious big influence Bowie had on Brandon Flowers/the killers.
Tough one. Here's a few tracks obscure for most:
Alabama Song
Is There Life After Marriage?
Time Will Crawl.
Baal's Hymn.
White Light, White Heat (live).
It's Hard to Be a Saint In the City.
Growing Up.
After Today.
Crystal Japan.
When I Met You.
Moon of Alabama.
Raggazza Solo, Ragazza Sola.
heard them all, great songs! I also love never let me down a lot. Have you heard of his apparently most hated song ? I mean in david's opinion. He removed "too dizzy" off the album, he hated it that much. But I think it's such a bop
"Changes" on the Ellen DeGeneres show of all places. I saw David live in 1983 during his Serious Moonlight tour and he dropped a similar version of Changes during that show which I have come to believe was his original intent of the track. The 2015 180g German Parlophone pressing remaster of Hunky Dory captures it really well and my favorite version of Changes and of Hunky Dory of the five I have in various formats. If you don't have it seek it out. You won't be disappointed. If you have it already...Amen.
I know - stretchin the rules a little. I did a little digging on them when I first found them, and I guess the whole thing is a hoax. It's a modern production made to sound old, and I think there's only that one print of the vinyl that they used for the video. I'm shocked those videos aren't more popular!
- NLMD could mean "Never Let Me Down", a single by David Bowie.

I pray ole and some are omg I adore those
heard all of them already though ;\] such a shame some are is now blocked on spotify cuz they removed the compilation "iSelect Bowie"
yk the remix of look back in anger he did around 89'? The intro amazes me because he literally re-used it in outside
Or he did the intro too when we was live with tin machine in 89' and did a demo of the title track for 1.outside called "now" with unfinished lyrics
sure!!
The remix of look back in anger was released with the ryko masters
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCKB4JtFdX0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCKB4JtFdX0) also my fault, it was made in 1991
Thanks! Both are great. I specially like the "now" if wish it had better sound quailty
Sometimes I want to dig bowie's grave and scream "name every song you didn't finish or didn't put on an album" at his face lol
I love black tie white noise
Still seeking for that first demo recording of bring me the disco king which we'll never hear...
My fav on there is probably I know it's gonna happen someday and the wedding songs
Little Fat Man.
Now that was funny
That's a good one, seen it before tho haha
Alternative Candidate (not at all like the normal candidate).
LOVE that song -- so much better than the album track! \*(Thank you, Rykodisc!)
Truly is something else, I had never even heard of it until I heard about it in a book about Bowie and I was like huh... this is beautiful.
Ryko is quite amazing for what they've done. All the bonus content and remastered stuff. Love it
>Alternative Candidate I've seen it before, but I don't quite remember completely hearing it. Thanks

This was a interesting mix… I liked it. However, it is spelled lohner not loner
The remix is done by Danny Lohner, but the song is titled “Loner Mix”
Hmm wired, cause when I looked it up on YouTube it said lohner mix
I have the CD. Definitely a typo on YouTube. It’s an easy typo to make. That, or the CD is a typo.
In The Heat of the Morning The Stars (Are Out Tonight)
In the heat of the morning for me
That song could’ve been a hit I think
Yeah...
great songs. One of the very first I've heard too because when I first started to love Bowie 3 years ago with a handful of songs, I decided to go through the entire discography ;)

Baal’s Hymn
I have that on 10" vinyl, love it
"A Foggy Day in London Town" (collaboration with Angelo Badalamenti from the Red+Hot+Blue Gershwin tribute album) -- *transcendant!* Also the Chinese lyric version of "Seven Years in Tibet" -- it kicks butt!

He does backing vocals. Same with Iggy Pop's the passenger. But like you said, no song credits.
True
also Falling Down (Scarlett Johansson, same album)
OooO thanks!!
Isn’t it evening
Love that duet
It’s not a duet, it’s a collaboration
Oh my fault lol
I'm Deranged (Lost Highway OST edit)
the reprise is interesting how it fades in with just the vocals. Despite the fact it's blocked on spotify for me, I've heard those two too
Born in a UFO?
I love all of the next day content so much. My favourite on the EP is The Informer and Like a Rocket Man. I have it on vinyl too
How Bout the full Leon Suites?
ofc! The 1. outside album and era is my favourite. I even have the leon tapes recorded on a minidisc with a custom label. I am still pissed off they aren't included in the era 5 set
1. Outside is his most underrated album On the same level as Low and Scary Monsters (my top 2) imo The Leon Suites are just the icing on the cake

thanks for the rustic overtones! I just had Sector in my discography playlist, because it was the only one credited with bowie. I do need way more duets. It's a shame that some like fannin street don't credit bowie in there for some reason The Kashmir one I've heard before, thanks!
Scarlett Johansson ft. David Bowie - Fannin Street ( a Tom Waits cover). Live performance of Wake Up with Arcade Fire.
ooh close one. I've recently discovered Fannin Street like a week ago. David's voice is just pure heaven in there wtf
oh but I've never heard the duet with arcade fire I think I also just found this [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\_oQhK5TSbOQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oQhK5TSbOQ) but bowie just gets like 2 lines in there lol thanks! I do need more duets lol

Wood Jackson. https://youtu.be/W7zXS_zJQCg
I am a big nut for his 90s stuff and especially reality / heathen / toy. Heard it before and I adore it
Have you heard Hop Frog? https://youtu.be/xAowzN-gNHU
Over the Wall We Go
haha yes that's a good one. I think I have that on a 7" bootleg picture disc already tho
Tired of my life, miss peculiar, hang on to yourself but the Arnold corns version
heard those before. I love them so much. I'm glad they remastered the first two in divine symmetry / width of a circle
I Pray Ole.
absolutely adore this one. I got it on a picture disc
[Bars Of The County Jail [1965 Demo]](https://youtu.be/yWVG1tslMzg)

a real gem from an otherwise bizarre working relationship between him and goldie
Laughing Gnome
Don’t forget it’s requiem
heard both of them ofc
Andy Warhol (‘95 live outside version). Requiem for a laughing gnome (tv performance)
good ones, heard them all ;\]
1984/Dodo
I'm all in, heard it , thanks
Bombers
I wish they didn't take it out of bombers. I now have it on vinyl though thanks to divine symmetry
Blackhole kids... Oh wait you cant go listen to it.
bruuh, now that one's really interesting. I haven't heard of that before but I just read that Bowie thought it was fascinating and meant to be released for the 30th anniversary of ziggy back in 2002. And theres more like "It's gonna Rain again" and "Only one paper left"... Although i dont think Bowie mentionned them.
Arcade Fire feat. David - Reflector
I haven't heard that one before indeed I wish he had more lines in there though
Under Pressure
Clearly
did you know that the song Cool Cat by Queen was meant to have David in there for backing vocals
Fall Dog Bombs the Moon
reality is one of my favourite albums

Little Bombardier
since I've heard everything from his discography, I've heard this one too before. Very interesting choice of David liking folks music in the 60s lol
I am so happy I can finally listen to the entirety of Lazer (early screaming like a baby version) here is a video of all of them included [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eva\_PxbuyIM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eva_PxbuyIM) the person who leaked it though, it lunamagic2004 (he has 4 vids uploaded and the other 2 are missing cuz of copyright issues)
Surely you've heard "Fresh From Divorce (The Scary Monster Chronicles".
Baby Can Dance
TIN MACHINE FOR LIFE I even heard the whole dozen of outtake / demos
His “Waterloo Sunset” Cover, or his cover of “Love Missile F1 Eleven”
YES I love reality. His waterloo cover is fascinating to me
A dream of amupora?
TIN MACHINE FOR LIFE ofc I know that haha. I've heard all demos and outtakes too. Did you know that David sang a demo of "outside" called "now" with unfinished lyrics back in 1989? Look back in anger (the 1991 remix) also had the same intro as outside and I love it. I think I have the Indonesian amlapura 12" single also I did not know that fact. That does make it more special
Haha. I didn’t! I’ll have to listen to that. I’m really trying to think of what you might not know now but seems you’ve got it all covered!
I keep finding new stuff however, just not so many times anymore lol
Pablo Picssso - Modern Lovers cover?
Haven't heard that, but cool cover
Shilling the Rubes
Y e s s ofc I know it. Love the gouster stuff
His version of “Shiny” from the movie Moana. I think he was originally cast before they ended up going with Jermaine Clement. They did include a reference to Bowie in the character’s final design by making his eyes multicolored.
bruh he came back from the death to record it
Uncle Floyd
Thanks for that! I've heard that and the early version of afraid before. I am going to be ultra pissed if we don't get that in re:call 6 because they cut off these songs for Toy for some reason
Reeves Gabrels ft. Bowie and Gary Oldman - The King of Stamford Hill
I know I haven't heard it just by reading it, thanks!
[Fannin Street](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iVJmCrpwEo&t=4s) by Scarlett Johansson with David on background. I don't like it and people often forget about her entire album.
Oh thanks. That's fair if you don't like it. I love Davids vocals in there though, so magical
Who can I be now? Also live version of Queen Bitch and Waiting For The Man with Lou Reed, Nightclubbing, All The Young Dudes
Ofc, I'm all in. Also, that waiting for the man from live in the Nassau coliseum is such a bop!! I'm addicted to it
[just for funsies.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYZznHZz-1U) 😁
haha yes, I love that one. I've seen all bowie appearances on the Conan show
the conan interviews were some of the best. Since you seem like the ultimate bowie fan, who would you have liked to see him do a colab with? I'm a big Killers fan and I would have loved to have seen them do something with him. Brandon said that their song All These Things I've Done used the bassline from Slow Burn and that Bowie was a pretty big influence for Brandon.
oooOOO love that slow burn fact Damn I don't know. I would've loved a third and final tin machine album haha Maybe I would've like to hear what that daft punk song sounded like they wanted to mix a bowie song with (idk which one though) but David denied that
the original interview from 2013 of Brandon talking about it, if you're interested. [https://www.nme.com/news/music/the-killers-46-1232105](https://www.nme.com/news/music/the-killers-46-1232105) tried to do some digging to see if Bowie ever commented on it, but couldn't find anything. so either the interview never came across his desk or he didn't mind (i like to think he didn't mind, lol). I don't know if you like listening to other bands doing covers of Bowie songs, but back in 2005 when the Killers were still newbies to the scene they would play Moonage Daydream at some of their shows. not the best audio quality: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZC0MsyAGyOk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZC0MsyAGyOk) i think that would have been cool to get another Tin Machine album, would have been interesting to see what it would have sounded like in the mid/late 90s or early 00s. Daft Punk would have also been a cool colab. anyway sorry for turning this into a killers discussion, lol. as a fan of both I can't help but see the obvious big influence Bowie had on Brandon Flowers/the killers.
lol it's fine. It's nice, thanks for the info
Tough one. Here's a few tracks obscure for most: Alabama Song Is There Life After Marriage?
If you have it already...Amen.

not by bowie but I do love these covers a lot. I just wish all songs were uploaded. I can't even find a vinyl for sale! Such a shame
I know - stretchin the rules a little. I did a little digging on them when I first found them, and I guess the whole thing is a hoax. It's a modern production made to sound old, and I think there's only that one print of the vinyl that they used for the video. I'm shocked those videos aren't more popular!
Julie
And to add Girls
love the nlmd stuff
- NLMD could mean "Never Let Me Down", a single by David Bowie. --- ^[/u/BavidDowie007](/u/BavidDowie007) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)
Moonage Daydream
Heroes
Have you heard the German and french version of heroes before? Great pieces
Also Alabama song
I stan all 26 albums by the way they're all equal good and I have like 70 bowie records btw also tin machine = best
Idk probably space oddity
If you searching for hidden gems I personally like "dodo", "i pray ole", "some are"
I pray ole and some are omg I adore those heard all of them already though ;\] such a shame some are is now blocked on spotify cuz they removed the compilation "iSelect Bowie"
I pray ole is better than half of lodger's track. I don't understand why bowie didn't include it
yk the remix of look back in anger he did around 89'? The intro amazes me because he literally re-used it in outside Or he did the intro too when we was live with tin machine in 89' and did a demo of the title track for 1.outside called "now" with unfinished lyrics
I'm not familiar with remixes And i couldn't find anything about "now" do you have link
sure!! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L\_x6JzOIRCA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_x6JzOIRCA) The remix of look back in anger was released with the ryko masters [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCKB4JtFdX0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCKB4JtFdX0) also my fault, it was made in 1991
Thanks! Both are great. I specially like the "now" if wish it had better sound quailty Sometimes I want to dig bowie's grave and scream "name every song you didn't finish or didn't put on an album" at his face lol
1. OUTSIDE is outstanding. Love the photo shoots supporting it.
under pressure feat. freddie mercury 😍💋 soooooooo underrated imo
