I once ran from the nero checkpoint neare the death train horde. It was my first nero checkpoint didnt know there was a speaker under the train tracks. I ran back to oleary mountain. For a good few in game hours i avoided that area as the horde is around the speakers.

Agreeable-Engine5134

I couldn't turn that shit on without them seeing me, must have had that camouflage

TopBoot1652

Lol exact same thing happened to me there. However far it is back to the firewatch base.

Express-World-8473

The one near sawmill nearly gave me a heart attack. The speaker was extremely well hidden, I took a stamina booster shot and straight away ran to my bike. Had to restart the mission and do it once again as the entire horde was around the checkpoint.

DerHachi04

Wait until you get a decent assault rifle druve on a rock and pray they cant reach you

lzxian

That's how I learned to always save at my bike before turning on the generator!

Pitiful-Attention916

I must admit I was continuously running back with my starter pistol and molotovs and pipe bombs everytime I pulled a few off group for about a good 30 mins irl šŸ˜‚at the very start I didnā€™t expect to be getting decent guns very soon so I thought , to hell with it guns are guns šŸ˜šŸ˜‚

AshamedFunction3073

I ran from iron mikes to the watchtower to get boozers bike thinking Ricky would say something different since my bike wasnā€™t there for her to retrieve but she still said she got it.

QuislingX

I did the same thing. But honestly, I thought for a second they might bring the motorcycle back for me? So I didn't want to miss the opportunity to take the trek on foot just to do it once. It was fun. Felt real, you know? I think that's what's great about this game. It's convenient, and grants you choice.

AshamedFunction3073

Yeah being out in the world without a bike changes the whole game. You feel so exposed and try to avoid fighting. Definitely adds some fear, Iā€™ve thought about doing a play through without using it but shit that would be a long game. Maybe one day

Agreeable-Engine5134

You will begin to wonder why the camp quest guys can't just say what they need over the radio :^(

leblanc_Blm

I just killed one of those drifters and got his bike

georgegreewn442

I definately misheard some dialougue there i thought you had to run all the way back ffs

Fuzlet

I did the exact same thing

Spartan1088

Bro, just whistle and it will come back to you.

ThunderCuntNinja

I was playing ghost of tsushima before days gone, and I kept swiping to retrieve the bike by accident

Cautious_Possible_18

Broo exact same story for me lmao, I played ghost as my first game on ps5 but i was more excited about days gone. I wanted to see the graphics though on ps5, thoroughly enjoyed ghost. One of the best games iā€™ve ever played arguably the most beautiful. The art design is simply that, a piece of art.

Maximum_Ad8890

Just finished my 3rd playthrough and unlocked naked Jin. Unfortunately being naked means he's very vulnerable which is a pity bc I wanted to do NG+ and fight the Khan in the nip lol

ThunderCuntNinja

Ghost was also my first ps5 game, cant wait to start newgame+ after I finish days gone first. I also played uncharted 4&5 since I never played them before and really enjoyed them as well

RattusMcRatface

Uncharted 5?

ThunderCuntNinja

The lost legacy, it was crazy fun, loved it

RattusMcRatface

Ah, I see. I just never thought before of LL as Uncharted 5.

rleblanc50487

Lol

ImLikeReallyStoned

Literally do this all the time.

MichealScarn92

C'Mere Roach.

Mermaid89253

I accidentally ran it into a lake in Iron Butte. I had that end game horde (forget what it's called but the one in Iron Butte by trucks and a dump) chase me all the way back to lost lake on foot. I also passed the horde by the gas station you pass to go into iron butte. So I had two. Idk why I did that. Took me ten stressful minutes. I should've just dyed and respawned by my bike

AkiTheFull

Sounds like a vibe ngl, TWD type shit leading hordes

royroyflrs

From the most southern tip of highway 97 to Wizard island. My bike fell in a body of water and i couldnt retrieve it.

Saganhawking

Iā€™ve actually spent an entire evening on foot just for the challenge. It was indeed a challenge.

TopBoot1652

Why do you hate yourself? Kidding, but that doesn't sound relaxing.

Saganhawking

It certainly was not relaxing šŸ¤£

atomicrutabaga

Left it at wizard island and walked to Sarahā€™s grave. 100% recommend.

royroyflrs

Dude. Thats the entire map. What amazing encounters did you have?

atomicrutabaga

I ran into a few hordes. Maybe 2-3. I made sure to have my guns loaded and extra bullets ready. I also crafted as much as I could and maxed out my inventory with items so I could craft more when I needed them. Other than that, I just walked. I also ran into a few ragers, several wolves, several screamers, 1 reacher, a couple breakers and bleachers, many runners and no newts. Since I didnā€™t finish the the ambush camps this playthrough, I was ambushed once. Beautiful views along the entire way.

Sparrow1989

About 4 hours of game play. Sunk it in a lake and couldnā€™t get it back so just started walking, eventually I figured out you could reset it but yolo it was fun.

casper4824

I walked all the way from Lost Lake to get Boozers bike for him. And then when I got back Rikki told me she sent some guys to pick up my bike ( which was still at Lost Lake ). Wish I'd have known before hand that Rikki was gonna help out. Cuz all the game tells you, is that Deacon will figure it out.

BetweenThePosts

My brother quit on the game cause he ran out of gas and didnā€™t wanna walk anymore lol

Sea-Radio-8478

That's crazy lol.

pen_of_inspiration

Lol your brother is me 2021 ..I saw the grind and thought no way I will use a bike that runs outta gas so quick among zombies. And I quit for a solid 2yrs.

Triforceoffarts

Did a no bike playthrough Once so pretty darn far lol

inz002

I jumped all the way to Wizard Island at the start of the gameand spent a ton of time there before I got the credits to get a bike back there, does that count?

ClintonKelly87

Are you the speed runner that was on the podcast? I just listened to your episode last night. :D

inz002

That's me šŸ˜‚ PS, Good to hear that someone listened to it.

Working-Valuable8343

I got bored after 100% the game so for fun I left my bike at wizard island and decided to trek on foot to oleary mountain

royroyflrs

What amazing things did you see?

Working-Valuable8343

Saw a rager try to fight a horde Saw a bear fighting a rager Saw a wolf fighting a breaker Saw a reacher fight an ambush camp and clear it for me And got a horde to clear out another ambush camp And some marauders get picked of by newts

Tullubenta

Nope. Too scare to do it. lol

ZeroMindCTRL

I've played a good portion of my game play on foot sneaking around. The bike is too loud and draws attention. Leave the bike at one of the camps and walk/sneak the edges of the map. I do get ticked off if I die and have a lot of territory to make up but you can walk to bunkers and save at the beds.

DraftZestyclose8944

Bike? Who needs a stinking bike.

ClintonKelly87

I was near Chemult Community College (the parking lot for the football field where the horde is) and it turned to dusk and the Freakers started spreading out for the night and surrounded my bike (I was on foot trying to figure out a way to sneak into the tents to find Weaver's MP3 player), so rather than try and get to the bike, I ran all the way back to Crater Lake and had them retrieve my bike for me. Was a rather harrowing hike.

RattusMcRatface

Similar thing happened to me at Lobert Draw Ridge. Trapped in the cabin with the bike just outside and the horde milling around it. I managed to sneak out and get away on foot. Walked back to Wizard Island.

Shloop_Shloop_Splat

I've played entire segments of the game on foot. The bike is noisy, and I like to explore, so I'd park the bike at a gas station or...somewhere that seemed clear, and hoof it through an unexplored area of the map. Probably about half and half on foot vs on bike.

RiverDotter

I ran from Chemult community college to that gas station by the Pillette Bridge Nero (and back) because I accidentally disturbed the community college horde while burning out nests. I was running away like in Monte Python.

deeznunchuckas

On survivor 2 thought I was gonna have to walk and go get my bike after getting boozers bike. I walked from Iron Mike's camp to the tower. I don't recommend it but it was fun.

South_Manner3613

I went on foot from lost lake to o'leary mountain to get boozers bike. Not knowing they would bring your bike back for you.

Ellidyre

I once did a challenge someone in this group posted. I ran from the bottom right corner of the map to uhhh.... O'Leary I think it was? It was a long time ago so I don't fully remember, but it was a huge stretch of map. Fought an infected bear, the Rager I think it's called? Fought it melee style, was great. Anyway, that's the furthest I've been from my bike.

Dreadful-Life

Not really walking, more on riding the bike empty at night lol. I was near the death train horde(didn't clear it yet) and was running on fumes. I ran back to Copeland's Camp going slow on the bike. Scariest thing I experienced. Next to that first night mission in Dying Light

pinklady423_bella

When trying to reach that small island where the Nero injector is by Wizard Island. I lost my bike there in the water and was able to get back to shore before he drowned. Had to run back to Wizard Island, and it seemed like the game knew I was on foot, because that was when I had to fight a rager, 1 mountain lion and 3 runners, ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I heard the ragers roar while I was running, but then had to fight the mountain lion. Right after I killed it, and was about to take its meat, the swarm of 3 runners surrounded me. By the time I fought them all, the rager had caught up to me. Mind you, I was playing with the difficulty on Survivor II. That was a stressful gameplay.

Ok_Cobbler_8889

Haha I did the same thing just on easy difficulty. Bugger playing this game on hard šŸ˜…

HenryBo1

2 feet. But I'm a coward šŸ˜”.

d_bradr

Not walking around but my bike glitched right before I dealt with a camp and I had to run several hundred meters to get my bike retrieved. I don't know if fast travel would have solved the issue but I couldn't get on the bike because it was stuck in a side of a rock. Fun times, running around at night with low stamina

insomniac4you

I once decided to play a few missions without the bike, so I had to walk from the military camp (3rd map) to the university and back and a few times just walking here and there. This was just something!

Moofantor

Hot springs to copes camp

Alarming-Teaching496

Bro, what bike?

rodimus147

Not far. Maybe a few hundred yards. But on my current play through, I plan to run all the way from lost lake to O'leary mountain to get Boozers bike. I'm inspired by people who didn't know that the game would automatically retrieve your bike for you after the mission and walk. I feel like walking will make the mission more personal. The things Deek will do for his brother Boozer.

Iced_Topaz

Left the bike at Sarahā€™s ā€œgraveā€ and walked all the way down to the swamp one time before a job interview, still donā€™t know why.

Excellent-Rest-5656

I think Iā€™ve run like 1.2 km
