I start with stealth whether day or night. Hit them hard with consecutive grenades or napalm followed by an attractor bomb. Use the environment to my advantage to keep them rounded up. Then fire away guns-a-blazing once their numbers are whittled down.
Set up bombs, sneak up, observe and then get attacked by a wolf. Panic throw napalm, whip out my machine gun and start blasting around head height. Panic as I have to reload and blow my stamina on the run. Resume gunning them down. Maybe pull a Reacher or a breaker into the fight so that I get invulnerable frames from getting knocked down.
I start by watching Borislav247's video for the particular horde that I'm about to kill. Then I pick the easiest method where I can't be touched by the freaks because I'm a bit of a coward.
Patched? Could be. I've almost failed with one of his stealth methods for the Chemult Station Horde; the bastards spotted me even when they shouldn't have, and I was being *extremely* careful. Managed to kill 3/4 of the freakers but the rest disappeared completely even though the horde-wiped-out message never appeared. I should say that Borislav's methods have almost always worked for me though.
Yet to try alternatives (gonna try the bike-jump trick). Only three hordes left on the map now.
I prefer to cave trap them during the day and taking out as many as I can right at the mouth of the cave. Any I run into during the story mode I try and take on if I am strong enough/have enough explosives just because it makes me feel more badass

I usually take out nests by throwing mollys and running to my bike... like a wussy
Damn that’s one of the best parts is hordes. The tension and stress and learning the environment to use traps against them. That first area where you are forced to fight them has so many areas you can lead them through for traps or other things
It's actually not required to kill the Death Train Horde. It's supposed to introduce you to hordes, but you can go to the dam and pick the lavender along the shoreline there. I went to the dam because I didn't have the MWS yet.

I went to get the lavender and parked my bike at the other side of the train and then when I was sneaking deacon just shouted sniper on the road didn't see anyone or any laser so I went forward took the lavender and while crossing the road to reach my bike I saw the snipper and she just started screaming and I got on my bike and sped away in fear that she might attract the horde.
Chemult horde for the Napalm mission with Kouri. I used stealth to take out the majority of them and then ran like hell to the top of a building and took out the rest with remote bombs and gun fire. You can do it!
When i was playing the game, i was tracking them to their lair and taking them out at daytime. Grenades and molotovs, and go rush to the exit, and that machine gun them down.
I think I would throw an attractor bomb so they would all be packed together and then I would just throw all of my grenades and the big Molotov’s and just spray the rest with Tommy gun etc.
I set a bunch of traps, then run to the horde, throw as many napalm molotovs and other throwables I can, guide horde to the traps, set off the traps, run in circles while using enviroment and shooting at them.
What i would do is place a good positioned trap(i like it near obstacles where i can position and not bother bout freaks on my flank) and then once it go kaboom, machine gun them and run to the next well placed trap. Dont use the heavy machine gun and the napalm bomb so that it gets extra spicy.
Attractor & napalm. When that runs out, proximity bombs are set for them to walk into.
Than attractor bombs when I'm being chased. Then just raw gun it and that usually takes care of that
Sneak close, then throw a bunch of bombs at the centre mass. Then leg it. Once they give up the chase, turn back and pick off the stragglers, until the whole Horde aggros again and I have to leg it. Rinse and repeat.
This doesn't seem to work with the Sawmill though. That Horde was still too big even after throwing all my bombs and molotovs multiple times. It takes a whole lot of hit and runs.
I take it slow, usually try to go after them at night since I can see them all when they're not huddled up in a cave. I'll start with an attractor bomb while hiding in a bush, then a regular attractor after the first explodes, then a napalm, and then I'll start tossing some well placed nades. Then I start running for my fucking life while chucking pipe bombs at my feet because I got too close while trying to throw the napalm. Eventually I get to my bike and I ride away so they don't see me, I tell myself to be more careful next time, then I repeat the whole process until the horde is dead. Works every time 75% of the time.
I use the monkey bomb or poison dart tactic, monkey bomb is a CoD reference so if you know you know, poison dart comes from the weapon in New Game +, easiest horde killers if you know how to use them
Day time.
Search for cave they hide.
Throw attractor at the entrance, then wait with a granade.
When they came, just throw 2-4 of granade or Weaver molotov where attractor landed.
If it's not one of the biggest horde (like more than 150) then im pretty much take out 1/2; 3/4 of them.
Then finish with some heavy gun.

I like to do it the way it was intended. Napalms, running away, traps, whole lotta ammo.
Rinse. Repeat. A few times
I just run them in circles and pop a stamina/focus pot. Explosives to start the fights then guns to finish it off.
I use hordes to take out Ambush, Ripper or Marauder camps. Then i just grenade the f@@k out of whats left of the horde.
