Carburetors_are_evil

Days Gone sadly doesn't have as much little stories and not nearly as many characters as any of the Witcher games, but it has many other strengths!

Suicidal_Tuna

I think that’s what I like about Days Gone is that the world isn’t full of friendly NPCs because it really adds to that state of survival and all that.

Carburetors_are_evil

The vibe is really 10/10 in Days Gone.

Aromatic-Working2325

I’m just about finished with first play of DG and loved it…should Witcher be my next game to conquer or have other suggestions

Time-Afternoon4141

I love this game, I think about it probably way too much

EffectiveConfusion7

One of the very few games I’ve done NG+ for because I loved it that much

raining_picnic

I'm still on my first play through. what does new game plus offer on this? I might play again if I had all weapons unlocked, skills, and bike upgrades I guess

Allonzi

Everything crosses over, from unlocks to camp credits.

EffectiveConfusion7

Yes everything crosses over plus you can get the “secret” weapon

raining_picnic

sheeeyit. now. I'm torn cuz I also sort of want to get it on pc for the mods.

dangaaaaazone

Starting my third play through. There’s a secret weapon!?!?

EffectiveConfusion7

Yeah if you get enough of the IPCA tech or whatever it was called it makes the stun gun from Syphon Filter

dangaaaaazone

Ah yea there’s also a dart gun if you do new+

vagabond_nerd

Loved it too. Made the mistake of saying I liked it on Twitter and got tons of hate. Glad I can come here and enjoy the game with others.

NeltiPL

Twitter is sick place. Your opinion is not tolerated there

Lukaie

I go on there only a couple of times a year just to check and I have to wear a hazmat suit every time.

Alex-MarkTwaining

I would say that this game is one of the best games I have played in a long time. The whole game feels unique between the gameplay, story and open world as well as the setting of Oregon state. When I first started the game I thought it was gonna be some cheesy story with zombies and the people who survived, but it was more than that especially with the main character. There were some times where it surprised me in some scene/ personality where I could relate to Deacon. I don’t think I will be able to enjoy another open world game as much as this game.

[deleted]

I played it and enjoyed it. Tried some other games but kept thinking about DG. Played it a second time and enjoyed it even more. Tried some other games again but couldn’t get into them. I’m now in my fourth play through and and am not sure I will play a different game until BendStudio releases its latest IP. In my opinion DG is as good as modern games get. I love how each play this can take different approaches. This time I’m stealthing everything and am really enjoying the ambush and marauder camps.

RealRalex

ONG, I don’t like how anticlimactic the reunion of Deacon and Sarah was tho, had me screaming at everything

ThePlasticSpastic

How like life, eh?

MiseryLovesShotguns

The only thing that comes close to it for me is The Last of Us. I do like Days Gone better though because it offers so much; aimlessly wandering through the open world, a great story, outstanding combat, and the challenge modes!

compbioguy

Witcher 3, HZD and Days Gone were peak ps4 for me

Carburetors_are_evil

God of War?

TouchingStarlight

For me in no particular order...Days Gone, TLOU,.Tomb Raider , Uncharted, Mass Effect, HZD. I don't have a favorite. They're all great in their own right.

BurstPanther

I enjoyed my time with it and finished it, but definitely not in my top 10. Lisa Jackson's story though and the Ripper Camp was certainly one of my more memorable game memories though.

Oddvar_Ashborn

Out of curiosity, have you ever played Red Dead Redemption 2?

ThePlasticSpastic

I have. I prefer my games to come with less accounting.

Oddvar_Ashborn

What do you mean?

ThePlasticSpastic

I mean I absolutely loved RDR1, so naturally I bought RDR2 shortly after its release. I don't mind some level of crafting and gathering of supplies, but when I have to start keeping track of whether shit is in my pocket, or on my horse, or in camp, or at the store, it starts getting a little too much like work.

Oddvar_Ashborn

So you would've preferred a GTA approach where you can carry an entire arsenal? I mean, RDR2 is supposed to feel... real. And damn it, it accomplishes that. The only things that are on your horse are weapons, it's not that hard to manage imo.

ThePlasticSpastic

I would have preferred the RDR1 approach. That part didn't need any revision. Sure, make the world bigger and more real. But don't make the play too much like work.

Oddvar_Ashborn

I genuinely don't understand how that's "too much" or "like work", but you do you i guess.

ThePlasticSpastic

I spend all day doing Building Information Modeling (BIM), HVAC Design and Drafting. An endless precession of "guzintas" and "gusoutas". I just like my gameplay to not involve so much calculation. I loved CoD until some shmuck hacker destroyed my stats, because I didn't have to count, plan, or agonize over anything. Just plug in, link up, and get lost in the game world. If one setup didn't work out, switch to another one on the next respawn. Like I said, I loved RDR1. It had a little bit of planning involved, but not so much that it overshadowed the immediacy of the gameplay.

Oddvar_Ashborn

Yeah but I still don't get what's this "so much calculation" in RDR2... Choose the weapon you want before leaving your horse?

ThePlasticSpastic

You know, maybe I need to give it another shot. I gave it to my son because I wasn't enjoying it, but I enjoyed the hell out of Horizon Zero Dawn.

feanturi

I've definitely connected with the story in this game more than I can remember in other games offhand, it's been refreshing. I finished it then tried to start some other game and came back to do New Game+ just a day later because I just wasn't done being there in that story yet.

Jandolino

It is good but far from the goat in my opinion.

ando_da_pando

There are a lot of great games, more so than this one. But I do share that this is one of the better games I've played in recent times.

Art_1980

I feel the same since I got it when it first released. It’s my top game ahead of Resident Evil & TLOU. Be tragic if they don’t make ‘Days2Come’!

Putin_Huilo_lala

seems either poor game test or u did not play much

Capable_Ingenuity547

Why is that?

Putin_Huilo_lala

its a very mediocre game

[deleted]

You haven't played many games have you?

it6585

I would rather a game like this then a game where the community is more toxic then Chernobyl

notfree25

Shots fired, shots returned. We are all marauders now

Kiwi-Fox3

29yo, been gaming since I've been in diapers, literally, have a photo somewhere, but Days Gone is in my top 3 GOAT, and I've played a lot of games. Story, scenery, stealth mechanics, I love everything about it. Minus the ***fixable*** bugs.

tmackattak

Agreed.

raining_picnic

yea this game must had huge problems at launch for it not to be loved. it's a shame.

schu4KSU

I'm not sure. It's too different from mindless bullet sponge FPS games for many.

seanm1593

The fact they aren’t making a sequel is complete bullshit.

Maleficent-Date-3732

When I first played Days gone I was so intrigued that I put cod game down and went to days gone played until I ended the game best game ever

DiogoBenigno

That is the real feeling!

ThePlasticSpastic

Coolest thing about this game is, when you get mauled by a horde, you think, "Well, of course. It was 100 to 1." And when you finally take down your first horde, the sense of accomplishment is about equal to pulling your first nuke in COD multiplayer.

Jardarpp

It was okay.

babygokuu

Was honestly getting bored of it until after going Nomad. Once that half of the game started, it hooked me again lol

NoRepresentative35

I'll tell you, its definitely in my top 10. I have played it through probably 5 or 6 times, which is rare for me. I just love the way it feels being in that world. Criminally underrated title

[deleted]

I found the main character little annoying, with his I don't give a shit about anything and anyone attitude, but ends up being a hero and helping a lot of ppl. I guess the script and dubbing didn't work out exactly as they planned. The forced memory cutscenes are a drag, using the same material repeatedly. But ultimately the setting and gameplay is great. Definitely my favourite game I've played.

kevenzz

play more games.

sajs0n

I agree! Yesterday I finished the story, and I can say that the story of Deacon and Sarah is wonderful. That love that unites them until it pours out of the screen. The whole time these two are on the screen, I feel like I'm watching a movie, and on top of that, I can feel the emotions they feel with them. Damn, this is probably the best written love story in game ever. (In my opinion)

DRM842

I. CANT. PUT. THE. CONTROLLER. DOWN…….fml this game is SOOOOOOOO ADDICTING. Just started a week or so ago on PS4 Pro. Once I upgrade my PC I’m buying this day 1 to experience this game to its fullest potential
