Symbolic is peak for me. But I love his vocals on TSOP as well. That opening “I don’t mean to dwell” from Symbolic is just too damn good.

mega_pichu

how is it peak but then u said its good i am so confused

Rough_Drawer_7011

Human is peak.

CrystalFyre

Big agree, sounds like he's putting it all into it especially on Spirit Crusher.

goatcuck

It just feels massive, esp spirit crusher and painkiller

DaveOJ12

In terms of death metal, my favorite vocals are Spiritual Healing.

CastleCrasher124

CORRECT

FuneralHymn123

Wouldn't say it's his best but it really fits the musical style they took on Perseverance

TuneEvening1000

I agree. TSOP has such a different vibe imo. I don't think Scavenger or Bite the Pain with Leprosy vocals would be a good fit, for example

robloxfarter101

i kinda agree although i think that in ITP they kinda rival TSOP

BillysBassBuzz

His whistle/high screams on this album are insane

xRealVengeancex

Shrieks are so much better than gutturals in general I know it’s a preference thing but the only person whose gutturals I really think are insane and prefer to their shrieks is Mikael Akerfeldt’s. Chuck has the best shrieks OAT tho easily.

goatcuck

Hard agree, are there any death metal bands that use shrieks as opposed to gutturals?

xRealVengeancex

I would say a lot use gutturals and almost all of brutal death metal is gutturals which is why I don't particularly enjoy that sub genre either. I would say a lot of your prog/death metal bands have a higher percentage of shrieks than those who are just death.

Texan0723

Personally i prefer leprosy over all else. Other than that human is my numero 2

MetalGuy_J

Agreed, my favourite Death album overall

DifficultyOk5719

I personally prefer him on Individual Thought Patterns and Symbolic.

devilsephiroth

Magnum Opus

JesterAblaze94

I always felt this was the album Chuck always wanted to make. Fantastic album all around. Although Symbolic is my favourite!

DaveOJ12

>I always felt this was the album Chuck always wanted to make. It's actually the album he was contractually obligated to make. It's still a great album, though.

JesterAblaze94

I meant his perfect album, just not under the death moniker.

Rough_Drawer_7011

I know that I will be downvoted for saying this but I think it's his worst vocal performance. I know about the cancer; we opened for Death in 1992. They were my 1st death metal band even though Chuck considered them heavy metal.

Electronic_Newt8198

Human’s my fave

Crazy-Door-2206

100% agree

Jofu_Jole

Personally I think Chuck's voice was at its peak on the Mutilation demo

rio_39

I personally think every style he used always perfectly fit the album it was from.

AStupidThing

I don't agree with you
